It was late at night when Dalia got up from bed. Thankfully, Verina had been with her all through the day, ensuring she was never bored and being so caring that Dalia almost did not feel her fever. A physician had come by and given her some herbs to drink, which is why she was feeling much better.
Verina was lying next to her, her face surprisingly calm, a stark contrast to her usual demeanor. She looked extremely tired but gripped Dalia's hand tightly in her fist. Dalia almost laughed, but feeling too weak to do so. It was just Verina's way, acting like her personal guard.
What prompted Dalia to get up from bed was the fact that her husband had not come to visit her. She would have ignored it, but she was too worried. What had happened to him? Was he alright? Above all, why had he not come to see her? She had asked Adam and Verina, and they said the king was perfectly fine and had even called in the physician. So why had he not come to see her?
