It seemed like Edmund had reached the right place.
The Weeping Spider was near.
He crouched low, moving slowly as he searched for any sign of the creature. His eyes scanned the shadows carefully, and his ears were tuned to any unusual sound.
Suddenly, he heard it—a soft, almost mournful whistling... like a distant cry. It was faint but unmistakable, coming from deeper within the cluster of web-covered trees.
"That must be it," he whispered to himself while moving toward the sound cautiously.
He approached a clearing where the trees opened up slightly, revealing a massive, thick web strung between several trunks. In the center of the web sat a monstrous creature, easily the size of a large wolf, with a glistening black exoskeleton that seemed to absorb the moonlight.
