"Where do you think you are going?" A large boy around 16 said to a skinny boy who was walking towards the exit of the school grounds. When the boy heard him he flinched and looked straight at him with fear in his eyes " I'm going to my part time job" Art answered but unfortunately these words weren't what the large boy wanted to hear.
When Art started to run he saw three other guys just as big as Kevin. They usually came as a group but today they used their heads and surrounded him. The three ran right towards him and tackled him at the same time which made it hard to breathe. After the tackle the fore boys took him to the back of the school, When they were at the usual spot Art who got beaten up prepared to get beaten up again but instead one of them started to speak "Today you won't be beaten up but instead you are going to go to the mages and issue a challenge from the beasts. Do you understand?" The last words he said with a transformed nail so it made more of an impression
Art looked at him and nodded and started to walk to the gym where the mages had their hangout spot. The mages looked smaller in comparison to the beasts but he knew that they were just as fierce if not more so than the Beasts.
When the boy was right in front of the gym he saw how both boys and girls started surrounding him. He felt the pressure in the air and took a deep breath and shouted "The Beasts challenge you to a duel!" As Art shouted these words he saw a two meter long tiger standing in front of Kyle the leader of the mages.
Kyle looked at the tiger and Chuckled and said "Do you really think you can defeat me Kevin?"
Kevin growled back and said "Let's find out" As his last word were said he threw himself at Kyle, When his body left the ground Art saw how his paws had destroyed the ground beneath him and at less than a second he was right in front of Kyle ready to strike him with his sharp claws.
Before the claws had hit Kyle, lightning suddenly surrounded him like armor. Before Kevin could stop the attack he was sent backwards 20 meters and got a small shock, Kyle looked where Kevin had hit him and saw a mark in the lightning armor but not deep enough to make a direct hit.
When Art saw how they fought he got goosebumps.
100 years back the whole world got infected with a virus that made the whole world change. The virus made dreams reality around one third of the people got one magic ability and another third got a Beast transformation while the last third remained normal humans. After about 50 years most humans died out due to the new humans being more powerful and taking over and started to rule with there ability's in mind.
Art was one of the few humans left and with only a little sister that was 15 years old they were very alike they both had a strange orange hair color it was almost like the color of an orange and both were small. He needed to provide for the both of them so he worked at multiple part time jobs so he got enough money so they could buy food for them.
When Kevin had recovered from the shock he got from Kyle's armor, He looked at him and growled again and started walking towards him with his eyes observing every move he made. When he was less than 5 meters away he jumped up over Kyle and landed behind him and turned around as quickly as possible. Kyle who knew that Kevin wasn't the type to think before acting was pretty surprised with his move but quickly turned around and punched him but Kyle wasn't ready to see Kevin right behind him ready to dig deep into him with his long sharp claws, A second later Kevin's Claws tore deep into Kyle's chest as Kevin got shocked one more time and went flying backwards.
It looked like both was done for but both stood up and looked at each other with furious looks in there eyes. This time Kyle took initiative and started running towards Kevin as he still hadn't recovered from the previous attack. When Kevin saw that Kyle was running straight towards him he readied himself for an impact because he wasn't able to move completely yet so he had no chance of dodging. When Kyle was close enough he used all of his power and smashed his fist right into Kevin's head.
Kevin flew right into a bush 30 meters away and had passed out. The mages had won but Kyle looked really exhausted and had four deep claw marks in his stomach. Both were really beaten up and their friends started to carry them into the school.
Fights between Mages and Beasts happen often so the police had stopped caring and let them fight it out.
When everyone had left without even caring about him he looked at the surrounding which was completely destroyed by the fight that Kevin and Kyle had fought, He eventually stopped at the clock that was hanging above the entrance to the school and he felt how he gradually became more and more panicked as he thought "I'm Late!"
Art couldn't be late because he really needed the money. When his sister had started school she started to become happier and more cheerful which allowed him to be out for a longer time and earn more money than he had before.
As Art was running through the streets he looked at the signs over the establishments, He eventually found what he was looking for "Cafe Pinevale first day hope it goes better than my last job" Art thought and opened the door.
