After lunch, they went to the training grounds.
" Now for the Physical Education Exams, it would be a performance task.
First is stamina, then endurance, lastly I will check if your ki's have improved since you entered school!
Now for the first test, Run around the training ground, 20 laps in one hour!"
"Ehhh???"
"2-20?!"
"Yup! Now time starts now!"
"Eh?! Ahhh!"
The kids were shocked at the first exam, but they weren't given anytime to process it, so they had to run and get 20 laps before the 1 hour.
And after an hour.
"Haaaah!
"Hah! Hah! Hah!"
"I-im toast!"
"W-water!"
Even though they have improved their physiques in the last two months, but having to run a full 20 laps within an hour still drained them of their strength, as the training grounds were very huge!
"Those that weren't able to finish the 20 laps will have their score deducted, while those that finished will get a perfect score!"
"Yeeeaahh!"
"Whaatt??"
"Yyeesss!!!!"
Over half managed to complete the laps, while those that couldn't only lacked 2 or 3 laps.
Eiji himself lacked 1 lap.
But he wasn't all that disappointed. He knew his limits.
After drinking water, the kids gathered around once again and waited for the next exams.
"For the endurance exam, That would be, Horse stance!"
"Horse stance?!"
"Yes! And this time, there's no time limit. The one that last the most will have the perfect score.
That means only one will have a perfect score this time! You can all start now!"
Eiji looked around, the other kids did as well, but they then created space for themselves and did the horse stance.
The first minute was alright, the kids thought that it was easy.
When it hit the ten minute mark, their legs were trembling. They had ran so much a while ago, now they were doing this, but this time all of them wanted that only perfect score.
When it hit the twenty minute mark, 20 of the 50 students couldn't continue anymore.
At the 30 minute mark, only 10 remained.
When it hit the 35 minute mark, there were only 4 of them.
At the 39 mark, only two remained. It was the roudy kid, Renji Barto and a kid from a noble clan, Ignis Newark!
As a child of the Ignis Clan, Newark was a hot blooded and training fool type of kid.
He always thinks about training and training. When it was break or lunch time, he just ate hastily and then trains.
In this test, he didn't even have a bit of sweat in his head.
But he have a serious look on his face.
Renji Barto was a naughty and loud kid, but he always does what he wants to do.
Newark knew that, and everytime in the physical education class, these two would always compete whos better.
At first it was Newark that won everytime, but with perseverance alone, Renji managed win some of their competitions.
Now they see each other as rivals!
Eiji felt the both of them were really best friends, and was happy for them. Although both of them didn't like the way Eiji put things as it seemed like they were dating.
When the time hit the 43rd minute, Renji collapsed then just a second later, so did Newark.
It was only a second difference but this time Newark won their little competition.
The two exchanged words which always ended up Renji shouting and declaring another rematch.
As it always happens, no one bothered with them.
"Alright, the one that will have the full marks in this test is Ignis Newark!"
"Nice!"
"As expected of Newark!"
The kids were happy for him which made the always stoic Newark blush a bit.
"Okay! For the last test, I will sense your ki one by one so wait for your turn you can rest at the shades or wherever you want as long as you are still at the training grounds!"
""Okay sir!""
"Good! first up-"
Teacher Muri, called up their names one by one.
When they would reach the teachers table, teacher Muri would touch their heads and close his eyes as he tells them to circulate their kis.
Eiji and the others took this time to rest under the shade.
Eiji and Lime were at the same shade as they watched the others.
"So? How do you think you did for today's exams?"
"Hehe!! I don't know but I'm pretty confident that I will have a high score this time!"
"Ooh! Amazing!"
"How about you Eiji?"
"Just enough I guess?"
"Hmm...enough huh?! Well enough is good too!"
As they were chatting Lime was called first.
Then after another two, Eiji was then finally called.
"Alright Eiji, just circulate your ki alright!"
"Okay sir!"
Muri touched Eiji's head. As he felt the ki smoothly pass through his pathways, Muri was happy.
He knew that the kid always practices his ki when he get the time, and it even seemed like he knew the calming effect of it which he kinda abused a bit.
But it was better this way. From his assessment record, he's pathways had to be opened, so Eiji having already this much ki that wont pale from those from a noble clan kids is something that showed he wasn't slacking off.
While he may be a bit mediocre, he can achieve things with this type of perseverance in silence that didn't need anyone's recognition!
"Good! You have improved a lot! It's done, you can go home early now!"
"Thank you teacher!"
Muri lied a bit, he didn't just improved a lot, Eiji had a lot of ki like the kids from a higher grade, and from the smoothness of his circulation, he will continue to improve in this way!
After talking a bit with Lime, Eiji went back to his dorm and decided to rest from the tiresome exam day.
