Aurora walked down the wooden stairs slowly with Nanny Susan beside her. She felt all eyes on her as she walked towards the table.
She finally reached the table and sat next to her father, king Maurice. She took a glance at her mother who was seated at the other side of the table facing her. She had a kind of look on her face, a look of pity. She was trying really hard to keep the fake smile on her face but Aurora could see through her.
"Oh my, what a fine lady you have here, your highness"
Aurora was drawn out of her thoughts by the words of one of the kinsmen of the alpha warrior of Snowdon.
"She takes after her mother, as beautiful as always" king Maurice replied with a smile.
Aurora was busy searching the table for her husband to be. The table was surrounded with men who were old enough to be her father, could it be that the alpha was one of these men? No, it couldn't be, according to the rumors she had heard, the alpha was a young, fine gentleman that every girl in Snowdon would die to have if they were not scared of him.
"We apologize on behalf of Lord Adrian for his delay, he'll be here soon" one of the kinsmen apologized.
"I understand, he should be a very busy person" king Maurice replied with a smile.
It was considered an offence showing up late to a meeting with the king, but dad was smiling about it, seriously?
"Of course Lord Adrian is a busy person" another of the kinsmen said.
Just then, Aurora heard sounds of horses approaching.
"It must be him" mum finally spoke for the first time during the dinner. She was still wearing that fake smile on her face.
The door opened and a young gentleman in a black tuxedo and a pair of black trousers walked in.
As he walked closer, his red eyes came into view, causing a shiver down her spine, his eyes were scary.
But even with those scary eyes, she couldn't help but admire his curly hair and his baby face. She had thought his face would be as scary as the werewolves she had seen in books but he didn't look anything like that, he was a handsome young man. She was sure if she had seen him in a different circumstance, she would have fallen for him immediately.
"Lord Adrian"
One of the kinsmen walked up to him and whispered something into his ears. He nodded as he walked towards the table and sat.
Dad and the kinsmen from Snowdon entered into a conversation about the kingdoms and other things which she didn't understand.
She noticed that during all their conversation, the alpha just sat there without contributing a word, he must be the quite type, she concluded.
