Although Chen Luo knew his recent actions were quite different from his usual good-guy demeanor, he wasn't inherently a pushover. It was all due to the **[Traveler]** talent's tasks.
If it were a normal act of helping someone, Chen Luo wouldn't mind. But asking another high school student to do your cleaning? Do it yourself!
Chen Luo also realized his talent's task system could reveal some information. How did it know that classmate wanted to meet his girlfriend and passed the chore to him?
While it puzzled him, Chen Luo had seen stranger things and could accept it. The priority now was to complete the time-sensitive task. That task was very lucrative—600 Primordial Stones, equivalent to more than half of what he had earned over two years of hard work. Plus, the special weapon mastery reward was enticing.
His home was close to the school, and he had ridden his bike today. It would only take five minutes to get home—if nothing went wrong. But, of course, things did go wrong.
As Chen Luo reached the bike storage area, he saw someone tampering with his bike's rear tire.
"Damn it, Yellow Hair! You're messing with my bike again!" Chen Luo fumed at the sight of the delinquent messing with his bike.
"Crap! How did you get here so fast?" The yellow-haired delinquent, screwdriver in hand, was shocked to see Chen Luo. Usually, Chen Luo cleaned the classroom every day, a task that had become routine.
"Your mother!" Normally, Chen Luo might have reported him to a teacher or security. But today, he was in a rush. The Knowledge Seeker's task location was at his home, which explained why he received the task.
Yellow Hair was no stranger to Chen Luo. He was the school bully almost traumatized by the "Mop Incident."
"Now that you've seen it, no point in hiding. I've been the one messing with your bike," Yellow Hair admitted openly.
Chen Luo angrily approached. "What? You think I won't hit you?"
Yellow Hair, standing on tiptoes to look down on Chen Luo, sneered. "What, you don't have the guts to fight here?"
Chen Luo placed his bag on the bike's rear seat and rummaged through it. "So, you've got no courage here?"
Yellow Hair's smug smile froze as Chen Luo pulled out... a brick.
**Smack!**
Chen Luo struck Yellow Hair on the head with the brick. Known for his helpful nature, Chen Luo carrying some "equipment" wasn't surprising. A brick, easy to find and discard, was his weapon of choice.
Chen Luo stood coldly over the fallen bully. "I'm a model student who once thwarted a bank robber with a brick. You want to fight me?" He resisted the urge to hit him again, mindful of the task's countdown.
He threw his bag in his bike's basket and sprinted towards the school gate with the brick. The bag could wait; the Primordial Stones were more important!
Why the brick? To destroy evidence, of course. Yellow Hair? Without surveillance in the bike area, Yellow Hair wouldn't be caught. And if he accused Chen Luo of attacking him? Who would the police believe, the model student or the delinquent?
Fortunately, taxis were plentiful near the school. Chen Luo, relieved, saw he had 12 minutes left. The traffic had been terrible, and to save time, he paid three times the fare to avoid additional stops.
To prevent distractions, he got off a bit away from home.
"Chen Luo? Why are you home so early? Oh, right, could you tell Rin to stop eating candy? She only listens to you," a beautiful young woman asked, worried about her daughter.
**[Ding! New Task Available]**
**[No More Candy]: Too much candy causes cavities. Convince her to stop eating the last piece.
Reward: 5 Primordial Stones
Difficulty: 0 stars
Chen Luo checked the time and task. Accept!
After accepting, Chen Luo approached the little girl. "Chen Luo brother, do you want candy?" she asked, offering it, knowing he'd refuse. Chen Luo, a good person, wasn't like her "bad" mom.
Touched by her innocence, Chen Luo sighed. "I'll accept." He quickly grabbed the candy, popped it in his mouth, and sprinted home.
**[Ding! Task Completed]**
"?!" The little girl's eyes widened in disbelief. Tears welled up. "That was... the last one! Limited edition!" She burst into tears, leaving her mother even more flustered.
