Leo's eyes widened, and her fight-or-flight response kicked in. She slammed her forehead into Argon's nose and kicked him between his legs.
"You d*mn pervert!" Leo roared as Argon fell back onto the ground, groaning in pain.
She breathed heavily. "I will not sell my body to you!! How dare you?!" she hissed, looking down at Argon.
"You piece of—" Argon cried out in pain, looking up at her. "I will kill you."
---
Argon's nose was dripping blood. He was now seated on the sofa in the living room, his chest heaving with anger and pain while Leo stood with her hands clasped together, looking down. 'Who says stuff like that? How could I not misunderstand? He could have just said he wanted me to use my hands to draw the sketches for him, and that would have been it. Who says stuff like that?' Leo, trying to justify her actions in her head, was greatly embarrassed by her recent actions and wanted to crawl into a hole and hide.
Argon watched her with an extreme hateful look in his eyes. He seemed to wish to end her life right then and there but was bound by two reasons: he needed Leo to stay away from Autumn, and his injured hand meant he needed Leo to redraw his sketches since he couldn't do it himself.
As he watched the figure before him, who seemed so easily destroyable, Argon felt a strange sense of helplessness. Despite his towering presence, he felt smaller than Leo, who had more strength than he first appeared. For the first time in his life, Argon felt he couldn't destroy someone as he wanted. But that didn't mean he couldn't make Leo's life a living hell for as long as he couldn't destroy him completely. Argon's brain brewed a sinister plan for Leo, unbeknownst to him.
"I am really very sorry, I didn't mean to," she apologised in a small voice. 'Please don't fire me. Or I will die!!' she cried inwardly. She had apologised so many times now that it didn't even feel forced like in the beginning when she still hadn't adjusted to the new body because her as Viviana would have had a hard time apologising to anyone. Now, as Liora, she could say it without a problem, as if Liora had always apologised to everyone all her life and it had made the word very easy to utter in this body.
"If you are sorry, then you should start working on the sketches! I want them done by sunrise." He paused, glancing at the clock on the wall. "That would be in about two hours." He then leaned back on the sofa, placing his feet on the table and putting his head on the headrest, hoping the bleeding would stop. "And one more thing!" HE looked down at her again with a deadly look in his eyes. "If these designs get into anyone else's hands, especially our competitors. I will know who to find– ANd let me tell you you don't want to get on my bad side. Do I make myself clear?" HE hissed to twitch Leo instantly nodded.
Leo's shoulders fell in disappointment as she kneeled beside the table where Argon had scattered the rough sketches. 'Well, at least Liora's drawing skills are helping me keep the job because I have left no stone unturned in making him want to fire me,' Leo thought inwardly, pleased by the new skill she had unlocked in Liora's body, which even seemed to enjoy it despite Liora's soul not being present.
Lifting the pencil, Leo started to draw, occasionally glancing up at Argon, who was in visible pain. The sense of guilt overpowered her, as she was not fundamentally a bad person and had caused him random pains all in the span of just a few hours, yet he was still bearing it.
"Buzz—" Her gaze was diverted towards her pocket where she heard the phone ringing. She pulled out her phone and answered it immediately, knowing there was only one person who would call her.
"Hello?" she said in a small voice, making sure it wouldn't reach Argon.
"Are you still in there?" Kiera asked.
"Yes," she peeked at Argon.
"Why are you talking like that? Is he around you?"
Leo bit her lip and decided to move away to not cause any disturbance. Crawling back to the hallway, she spoke, "Yeah, I'm working on something he gave me. I barely managed to convince him not to fire me. This man is killing me." Her voice sounded exhausted.
"Hmm—call me when you are off work. I will take you to your new place," Kiera said.
"I will call you when I'm off. Bye." She pulled her lip into a smile as if Kiera could see her and then ended the call. She then turned around only to find Argon standing behind her, looking at her with a serious expression. Leo was so shocked that the phone in her hand almost flew out. "God d*mn it! Why are you standing there like that!? I almost died!" she spoke in a loud, coping voice.
"Who were you talking to? Was it Autumn?" He narrowed his eyes.
"What? Of course not! Do I not have anything better to do than talk to her? Are you for real?" She snapped, her tone full of disappointment as she walked away. "The man has lost it," she said, shaking her head and grumbling under her breath because she couldn't say it out loud.
