Walking out of his room wrapped in his bathrobe and holding a file that needed reviewing, Argon saw Leo snoring lightly on the table, completely asleep. He gritted his teeth and wanted to smack her with the file but then took a deep breath and shook his head. "Not now! She is still useful. I can't do this now," he muttered, taking deep breaths as if doing some yoga.
"Get up!" Argon poked Leo with the file, waking her from her slumber. She had dozed off on the papers he had given her, rather than completing the job assigned to her. She was sleeping in the most uncomfortable posture, making her back sore the second she opened her eyes.
"Ouch!" she hissed, pressing her back which gave out a sharp pain.
"Are you done with the work I gave you?" he asked, his face stiff.
Still semi-asleep, Leo looked at him confused. She wasn't sure what this man was talking about or why she was even listening to him. Her puffy eyes turned toward her surroundings and the unfamiliar apartment welcomed her. She rubbed her eyes and stretched her arms.
"What's for breakfast?" she yawned and asked in a sleepy voice. Argon was stunned at her ignoring his presence like that.
"Get up! Now, if you don't want to be fired!" he threatened. Something flipped in Leo's brain and soon the memories of the night before started pouring into her head.
"Gasp!" she breathed in sharply, her sleepy eyes shooting open before she stood up on both her legs with lightning speed, causing her body to not support her brain's decision to stand up. Her head started to spin, making her lose balance. In that moment, Argon grabbed onto her waist with his left arm, which was still functional, though not for long in Leo's presence. It was an awkward moment for both of them as they watched each other, stunned.
"That—" Leo uttered softly, her stomach starting to roll. "I fell asleep." She took a nervous breath before pulling herself out of his grasp. Argon, who had done it instinctively, patted his hand on his shirt as if trying to clean it off after touching Leo.
"I have a meeting. Assist me and get me dressed for today, and after that prepare my breakfast. We need to be in the office by 11," he said.
"But it's already past 5! Am I not off work now?" she asked, baffled because they had agreed on her working hours.
Argon gave her a threatening look. "You slept through the night. You caused me immense pain in my wrist—" he pointed at it and then continued to list the injuries, "My head, my nose—"
She knew what was coming next, so she placed both her hands over his mouth tightly and shook her head. "I understand. I will do that. Just don't say it!" she said, shaking her head, horror clearly visible in her eyes. Argon instantly pulled away from her hand and rubbed his lips irritably.
"Don't touch me!" he roared.
Leo glanced at the hands she had placed on Argon's lips and instantly hid them behind her. "Yes! I will keep that in mind," she nodded.
"But why do I have to get you dressed up?" she said in a meek voice. "I mean, you're a grown man. I don't see why you would need assistance with that?" She tightly clenched her teeth.
"Because of someone, I can't use my hand. So I need assistance," he said, tilting his head, his words dripping with mockery. "Now follow me before I cut your pay!" he hissed.
Leo's brows squeezed together and she blew out heavily. "What is this situation? I had to be close to him but not this close—What are we, girls at a sleepover or something? Where I have to dress him up? Gosh!" she hissed to herself, cursing her fate.
She walked into the room carefully as it was the first time she did so in her life, entering a conscious man's room that wasn't someone apart from her grandpa and Nico, whom she had an actual relationship with. This felt wrong and she didn't want to be there, but she had no other choice, so she went with it. Argon, who had started to undress casually as he would every day, was met with a pained look on Leo's face, who seemed to be on the verge of tears and her eyes half shut to avoid looking at him at all. Her head was turned backward and she hoped that this torture would end. She quickly turned her head away, holding up the hanger where the suit was.
Argon tossed his bathrobe aside and was left in his boxers only. She inhaled sharply and handed him his trousers. Argon had taken off the cast around his hand for the bath and was not moving his hand a lot but still had to use both his hands slightly.
"The shirt!" he announced as Leo didn't turn around all the while she was handing him his clothing. "Yes…" she said, handing him the shirt.
"Put it on for me! I can't twist my hand that much," he grunted, irritated.
Leo bit her lip and then turned around, her eyes slightly open. Argon noticed it and frowned. "Are you planning on causing me another injury by walking with your eyes shut?" he said annoyedly.
"What else do you want me to do? Watch you while you get dressed? Would that make you comfortable?" she said, flustered, and put the sleeve of the shirt across his arm in one go.
"Hah! What does that mean?" he turned his head around to his side where Leo stood, her eyes wrinkled, looking at his face, her cheeks turning red.
"What is with that expression?" Argon's lip slightly curled up. "Are you embarrassed by any chance?" As if making fun of Leo, he spoke.
"Of course I am embarrassed! You would be too if you knew that you are stripping before a woman!" she scolded him inwardly.
"Please just dress up quickly. I don't know about you, but I am not comfortable with a naked man around me," she said, her nostrils flaring up and her cheeks turning redder by the second.
"Hah!" Argon chuckled, this time with a sinister tone. He leaned in closer to Leo, purposefully putting his face just half an inch away from hers. "Why? Do you feel feverish when you see my body like this? Does it make you think of doing something with it?"
"God! Eww." She growled with disgust, as if about to collapse. "How the hell did you come up with that?" She opened her eyes wide at the absurdity that fell upon her ears. But then the vision of his body became even more clear, and she let out another pained groan. "Gosh, my eyes! I need to wash them!! GAAH!" She gave out the most disgusted short speech before tossing his shirt away from her hand and leaving the room with lightning speed.
Argon watched her flee, a mix of amusement and irritation on his face. "Unbelievable," he muttered to himself, shaking his head. He glanced at the perfectly built body. "It can't be that bad." and then looked at the discarded shirt and sighed. "This is going to be a long day."
