Crack! The table, where Argon and Kant had sat earlier, splintered into pieces. Autumn's tears spilled over as she gasped for breath, feeling her throat tighten in terror.
"You think some police are going to stop me from killing you?!" he roared, smashing the bat into a wall mirror, shattering it into a thousand fragments.
"Ge-get out! I'm warning you. I will hurt you if you don't stop," she stammered, her legs threatening to give out beneath her.
"Haha! You warn me?" He sneered, stepping closer. "Let's see who saves you from me tonight! I'll collect all the debt from you, and if you can't satisfy me, I'll sell you for the money." His yellow teeth glinted through his messy beard as he loosened his belt with one hand.
Autumn's mouth hung open as she struggled to draw breath, her muscles locking up in fear. "Good girl," he chuckled, letting go of the baseball bat and sitting beside her. He lifted a hand, placing it gently on her cheek. "Let's see, where do I start?" His breath reeked of alcohol, his foul odour making her gag. Her neck stiffened, bones and muscles taut and visible. Tears streamed from her closed eyes as she gasped for air, teeth clenched tightly. One of her hands held firm, the other hidden behind her back, gripping something unseen.
He leaned in, his filthy mouth pressing onto her collarbone, licking her skin hungrily. Autumn's eyes shot open in horror. In a flash, she yanked her hidden hand free and struck something into his back.
"Argh!" The man recoiled, his eyes wide with shock and pain. "You b*tch! You dare?" He slapped her across the cheek, sending her sprawling to the floor, her head hitting the tiles with a sickening thud. He reached behind him, pulling a small knife from his back, blood oozing from the wound. With a roar of rage, he charged toward her.
Autumn, seizing the moment, scrambled to her feet and dashed for the door. She yanked it open, storming out of the café with the man hot on her heels, bellowing at the top of his lungs. "Stop, you!"
Autumn half-stumbled, half-fell down the stairs, landing face-first on the pavement.
"God!" Viviana screamed, startled as Autumn appeared out of nowhere, nearly collapsing from the anticipation of the man pursuing her. Just seconds after Autumn fell, the man burst through the door, charging toward them.
"Sh*t!" Viviana cursed, her eyes widening in alarm. 'It is that fat man!!' She realised it in a split second that the man running towards her was the same as the one in her vision. , Instinctively, she swung the rod in her hand, connecting with the man's skull with a sickening crack. She felt the vibration of the impact through her hand, amazed at the strength she didn't know she possessed. The man, dazed by the blow, tumbled over the railing and landed in the crossroad. A fast-moving car slammed into his body, sending him flying to the other side of the road.
For a moment, everything went silent. Viviana's eyes remained wide open, completely stunned by what had just occurred. "Haah!" she exhaled heavily, trying to process the chaos around her.
"You…" A small voice broke through Viviana's turmoil, and she glanced down to see a pair of clear blue eyes, framed by striking red hair and tear-streaked cheeks. The girl looked up at her with gratitude and awe. Viviana couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was, even in the midst of chaos.
Autumn steadied herself on shaky legs and spoke softly, "You saved me."
"Get off," Viviana snapped, pulling her hand away abruptly, her eyes still fixed on the man sprawled on the ground. "I hope he didn't die," she muttered to herself.
"I hope he did," Autumn's voice turned grim as she stared at the man bleeding on the road where the car had struck him. A small crowd had gathered, some calling for an ambulance.
"No! I can't get involved in this. I need to get out of here," Viviana thought urgently, already turning to leave.
"Please don't go! I—I owe you my life. I can't just let you walk away like that," Autumn pleaded, grabbing onto Viviana's hand again. "Sir! Please," she implored, tears welling up in her eyes.
Viviana frowned deeply, torn between her instinct to flee and the pleading desperation in Autumn's voice. "What is wrong with you? Let go of me. I don't want any trouble with the police or anyone else. Let me go in peace!" She tried to pull away, but Autumn held on steadfastly.
"The police won't do anything to you. That guy is a thug, and he got what he deserved," Autumn retorted, her voice filled with bitterness. Autumn seemed too determined and wasn't letting go of Viviana it seemed that partially it was because of gratitude and partially because she was till shaken to the core and looked at her with a hope in her eyes.
"Fine! Give me money then! I'll take payment," Viviana blurted out, The first thing that crossed her mind was money as she had realised that it wasn't easy for her to move around the city without money and walking all the way to her home was not a good idea. . Autumn fell silent for a moment, her expression contemplative, before finally nodding.
"Okay, I will give you the money! Please wait here, and I will bring it to you after I report this to the police," Autumn said, taking the rod from Viviana's hand and wiping it clean on her clothes. "Please wait for me here.OKAy!, I'll be back as quickly as possible." She pointed towards the shop, and despite her reluctance, Viviana couldn't deny that free money wasn't a bad idea. She watched as Autumn limped towards the accident site, pulling out her phone to make a call along the way. Viviana kept her eyes trained on her, feeling a mix of confusion and curiosity. "What an oddball," she muttered to herself.
After scanning her surroundings once more to ensure she wasn't being followed, Viviana pushed open the cafe doors and entered.
Not far away, under a flickering streetlight, a car sat with its occupants closely monitoring Viviana's movements. Kiera, speaking into his phone, reported back to Magnus. "Yes, master, I'm watching him closely. Just now, he beat up a guy four times his size."
Magnus's laughter echoed through his room, his satisfaction palpable as he reclined in his chair. "Hahaha! I knew he wasn't as simple as he seemed. His true potential could only be discovered by letting him fly free." Magnus's lips curled into a smile of anticipation. "Keep a close eye on him. I'm sure he'll try to meet his father."
"Yes, master," Kiera affirmed, ending the call as he continued to surveil Viviana.
