'By the looks of it now, I think they knew I was about to escape, so they don't seem that mad. The reason they let me escape successfully was that they might be testing if I have anything to do with the seal thing. And I bet to some extent they are convinced by now that I have nothing to do with Orion or whatever he is.' She thought deeply. 'I am not having any visions, so it seems that for now I am safe. But what will they want from me now? I am not sure, but whatever it is, my plans should not change because of it. I need to meet Grandpa at any cost.' Viviana was immersed in her determined thoughts when suddenly Kiera applied the brakes, causing Viviana's body, unprepared for the abrupt pause, to slam into the back of the front seat and fall into the foot space in front of the seat. "Agh!" she couldn't help but groan in pain as she had hit her already injured head again.
"Sh*t!" she realized her mistake, making a sound and revealing her consciousness. "So you woke up?" Kiera said sarcastically. Viviana didn't want to speak but didn't want to remain stuck in the foot space either, so she hummed lightly and slowly tried to get out without making it obvious that she was acting. "How is your head?"
Viviana sat in the seat and picked up the handkerchief that had fallen off her forehead, pressing it back against her head. "Hmm–" she responded with another hum.
"That is a very weird reaction of yours for being caught again," he added.
"I should be the one saying that," she replied. Kiera tilted his head slightly as if asking the meaning of what she had just said. "Nothing," she said briefly, gazing past her arm that was holding onto the handkerchief against her forehead. She watched the road keenly and noticed something immediately: the billboard where she remembered her advertisement picture was now had another picture of her, but this time it was a missing person's poster. "Hah!" she gave out a laugh filled with disbelief. In white font on a red background, her name, height, and everything about her were put out. A prize of a hundred million dollars for whoever found her. 'I am still missing? What does this mean? Did they not find my body yet?' A shiver ran down her spine at the thought. She quickly turned to look at Kiera and leaned forward. "Excuse me," she said in a small voice, and Kiera almost jumped in surprise.
"Why are you so close?" he hissed.
"Could you lend me your phone for a second?" she asked.
"No!" he replied softly.
"Please, I promise I am not doing anything wrong with it. I just need to search for something. I promise it will not hurt you in any way." She had gotten pretty emotional. It was the first time after her accident that she had thought of the whereabouts of her body or at least what had become of her case. Was Nico caught or anything? Kiera quickly gave in to her request and handed her the phone. "1234," he said his passcode out loud, and she nodded.
'He has got some state-of-the-art security for his phone,' she thought to herself, then unlocked it and instantly browsed the internet, searching for her name. There were tons of pages writing about her case. She readily opened the links and started to read the news, her eyes moving over the screen, her hand slightly trembling. 'I am still missing, and Nico is still out. What happened? Why? He killed me, why is he free?' She crouched, doubling down over her body as she hugged herself. A terrifying feeling took over her. "What happened? Are you okay?" Kiera noticed her through the rearview mirror, stopped the car at the side of the road, and turned to look at her.
Her eyes were watery, and she felt sick. Kiera took the phone from her hand, looked at what she was reading, then turned his phone off and looked at her. "They didn't find the body yet. Where is it?" she muttered under her breath, her tone filled with tears. "Why are they not caught yet? It has been more than ten days! Why?" she cried out angrily.
Kiera was unsure what had gotten into Leo. All he could do was watch as Leo threw a trauma-induced tantrum in the back seat, unable to interpret whatever he said.
r a long time, Viviana seemed to be cursing and crying in the back, visibly frustrated. Kiera, this time, didn't take it as acting. He had been observing Lio since the previous night, and it seemed something was fundamentally wrong with Lio that had nothing to do with his knowledge of the seal. Knowing well enough that he was of no help to him at that moment, Kiera turned around, facing the road while Viviana did what she pleased in the back.
Viviana's sobs and mutterings filled the car, but Kiera stayed silent, his hands gripping the steering wheel. He tried to focus on the road ahead, pretending not to hear her distress. After what felt like an eternity, Viviana finally calmed down, throwing herself back into the seat and laying low.
Exhausted and emotionally drained, Viviana stared blankly at the car's ceiling, "I will kill that b*st*rd with my own hands, I think that is why I was given this body so that I can avenge my death." SHe grumbled hatefully under her breath while rubbing her eyes off the tears.
