"Ack!" she groaned, and a vision appeared before her eyes.
'How long are you planning on keeping this act of yours? Let me tell you, I will get you, just like I got your sister. And then I will go for your father. I will hunt you down until there is not a single drop of your family's blood left on the face of this planet. I will erase you.'
Magnus's hand was gripped around Viviana's neck, and he tightened his grip while he spoke an inch away from her face in the most chilling voice.
"Gaah!!" The second the vision ended, Viviana gave out a deep breath, her face turning red. She had long let go of the bandage and was holding on to her neck as if it had already been choked. "Cough cough cough," she tried to catch her breath.
"What the hell? That psycho man!! Is he trying to really kill me or something?" she cursed while catching her breath. There was no one to answer her question, and the vision had now made her heart rate rapid. It was obvious that this was about to happen in the next few minutes, making Viviana even more reluctant to leave the washroom, as the scene of the choking incident had occurred in what seemed like the hallway she had just walked.
"What are you doing inside? Get out here!" The guard seemed to be growing impatient.
"Coming," she replied and quickly dressed up before glancing at her reflection one last time. The unfamiliar figure made her feel uncomfortable. "I will get out of this alive. I have to!" she said and clicked open the door to see the guard keeping a hawk eye on the door.
She lowered her gaze, and the guard took the lead, walking towards the room. 'What should I do?' She was on guard, her nerves on high alert, her fingers stroking her neck gently as if prepping it for the violence that was to come. She kept her gaze on the path so that she wouldn't be caught by surprise, but then suddenly, out of nowhere, a hand grabbed onto her arm from the side.
"Ahh!" She screamed, her heart leaping. She was scared to death by the sudden touch on her arm. The next thing she knew, she was slammed against the wall, and just like the vision, the tall man loomed over her with a threatening look in his eyes.
"You look quite okay for someone whose life is about to be ended," Magnus hissed. This time, he looked even scarier as his tied hair was let down, giving him a rougher look. Viviana suddenly felt her chest tighten up again, and her breath shortened. Her mouth remained open as she tried to breathe.
'What is this? Why can't I breathe? His hands are not on my neck! Why is it still?'
"Haaah! Haaa!" Viviana felt light-headed as she hyperventilated.
Magnus's eyebrows creased. He was clearly annoyed by this current situation, and the easiest thing for him to do was to actually choke her and kill her so she would not be annoying any longer. He almost lifted his hand to do that, but there was a voice.
"Master!" It was Kiera's voice, making him turn his head. Viviana instantly leaned over to the floor and held her chest, punching it lightly to start breathing properly again.
"Someone came with news. I think you need to hear it out," Kiera spoke. Magnus wasn't yet satisfied with his interaction with Viviana, but what Kiera said sounded more important. He relaxed his clenched fist and nodded. "Make it quick," he said and walked away. Kiera gave Viviana one last glance before walking behind Magnus.
Click, click.
As the sound of the footsteps disappeared, Viviana felt her breath slowly returning, the constriction on her chest leaving, and her heartbeat going back to normal.
"Haah!—" She sat back, her head against the wall and her legs stretched out on the floor. "Does this body have some beef with this guy? It acts weirdly around him," she muttered under her breath. Last time when she had met Magnus outside the office, she had felt like this too, and now again.
"You! Get up!" The guard from before approached her and ordered her to get up. She felt drained out of life and could barely move but had to muster up the strength to walk because the guard looked scary.
She slowly pushed herself up, using the wall for support, and wobbled back to her feet. As she followed the guard back to her room, her mind raced, trying to piece together a plan. There had to be a way out, but first, she needed to understand more about this place, these people, and why they thought she was someone else.
Back in her room, Viviana sank onto the mattress, her body exhausted but her mind unwilling to rest. With pillow crushed between her arms she thought deeply."The vision changed, It was different. Now that I think off it, it was different the last time too. Does it not show exactly how things happen but no the first time it was exactly the same." she pondered and then shook her head as if thinking this was not important right now.
"I know I have to get out of here, but I don't know how. These people want to know something about a seal, and I'm alive because they think this body must have some importance in getting them that seal," she muttered to herself.
"They think I'm a guy and consider me important because I might be an heir to the father of this body. But she's not a guy, so does that mean she's covering for her brother? But wouldn't they kill her if it's revealed that she's a girl and is useless? Why would a parent leave one of their children while taking the other?" She brainstormed.
"This is the stickiest situation one can be in. If only I can get out of this situation, I can convince Grandpa of my identity, and then we can sort things out. But—did I really die as Viviana?" Her voice cracked, and a tear instantly formed in her eye and dropped from the corner. A heavy pain brewed in her chest, and she took a deep breath.
"But—I had so much to do as Viviana. That b*st*rd Nico! If I ever see him again, I will make his life a living hell," she said, her voice filled with hate.
