James: And...
BEGIN!
The entirety of the crowd went silent, witnessing what was in front of them. Violet was using her magic to generate a storm of purple lightning around her. It was almost as if she was creating an electric field.
Alex: Since I left, her magic control has really improved.
Violet unleashed multiple electric strikes at Alex, who barely managed to dodge the incoming attacks. He seemed focused on evading and playing defense, while Violet was swinging on offense.
Violet: Stop running and fight me!
Alex: How about you focus on what you're doing.
Alex continued to dodge the attacks as James watched from his throne. However, a servant quickly whispered in his ear, and it caused him to panic slightly.
James: Now?
Servant: Yes, master.
James: Hmm...
James went into deep thought for a second before looking at the servant.
James: Invite them in and escort them here.
Servant: Understood, Master.
The servant left as James went back to watching the fight; however, James noticed something. Alex wasn't just dodging. With each evasion, he was moving closer and closer to Violet.
James: It seems his battle awareness is still as good as ever.
Alex continued to close the distance as Violet's attacks noticeably had gotten slower.
Alex: Now!
Alex charged directly at Violet when he finally had an opening and used his own magic to create a blue flame around his fist, hitting Violet directly in the stomach and sending her back a few feet.
Alex: Still as hot-headed as usual, Violet.
Violet: SHUT IT!
Violet once again sent another strike at Alex, who dodged.
Alex: Violet, why did you want to do this?
Violet: BE QUIET AND FIGHT!
Alex: We used to be friends, Violet; we were close!
Violet: You're right. We *were* close. Then you left me—left us without so much as a single word.
Alex: So that's what it's about...
Violet covered her body in lighting and quickly moved towards Alex, punching him in the stomach. Alex then grabbed her arm and flipped her onto the ground.
Alex: I didn't mean to hurt you when I left Violet. I just needed to get away.
Violet: "Needed to get away." From what? The King? Me? WHAT!
Violet kicked Alex in the stomach before she stood up.
Alex: I needed to get away from all of this! I didn't want to hurt you in the process!
Violet then punched Alex in the nose, causing it to slightly bleed.
Violet: Just shut up and fight me...
Alex nodded as he wiped the blood off of his upper lip.
Alex: Fine. I'll give you what you want.
Alex's eyes soon started to glow a bright blue color as blue flames surrounded him. Alex's blue flames were well known in the vampire world. He had plenty of nicknames, but the most prominent one was "The Azure Prince."
Alex's flames spread quickly, covering the entire battleground.
Meanwhile, the audience was all shocked to see the amount of fire being produced by Alex.
Issen: Oh, he's pissed.
Victor: It seems he's going all out this time.
Lena: No...he's holding back.
Alex created waves of flames and quickly surrounded Violet in a small circle. Violet couldn't even see Alex, as the flames were too tall. So she tried jumping straight up just to get a view of where Alex was; however, as soon as she jumped, a ball of fire hit her right in the stomach, causing her to fall right back down.
Alex: You said you wanted me to fight you, Violet; it seems you've forgotten one important thing. You've never once beat me.
Alex suddenly appeared from the flames and kicked Violet in the head, sending her into the flames. Violet didn't know what was happening as she was both burning and being punched from multiple directions, almost as if Alex were moving in the fire.
However, the burning stopped, as did the punches. Violet's body dropped right onto the ground, covered in bruises and small burns.
Violet: Ah...
Alex: Violet, I left because I didn't want to be the "Azure Prince." or whatever they call me now. I left without telling anyone because I didn't want to be found; I never wanted to hurt you, Lena, or anyone else in doing so.
Violet: I...I just wanted you to stay with me.
Alex: I know.
Alex grabbed Violet's hand and smiled.
Alex: But I'm back now. Can't we just move forward now?
Violet: I...maybe...
Alex called for a medic, and a vampire helped Violet up and took her to the hospital while Alex was still standing in the arena.
James: Victory, Alex!
The crowd cheered in celebration.
James: Now, how was that, Toshikiyo? Did your new son-in-law impress you?
Alex looked up and saw a man with cold black eyes and the same colored hair watching the fight, and right next to him were four girls all with pink hair and another boy with the same colored hair.
One of the girls looked a bit older than the others, meaning that she was more than likely his wife, and the other three were his daughters, making the other boy his son.
Toshikiyo: He's not bad—rough around the edges, for sure. But I wish to talk to him, if you don't mind, James.
James: Of course not. Just let him get a change of clothes.
Toshikiyo: Of course.
Alex walked back to his room with Issen, Victor, and Lena as Toshikiyo turned around to talk to his daughters.
Toshikiyo: So what did you think, Sayuri? Is he worth being our son-in-law?
Sayuri: He definitely has talent. I need to speak with him to be sure. How about you, Misaki? After all, he might be your husband.
Misaki: I... I'm curious, to say the least. I can't wait to meet him.
