After the fight, Alex cleaned himself up before once again being summoned by his grandfather. Alex knew exactly what it was for. The Miyahara Clan had arrived. The Miyahara Clan was one of three famous vampire clans in Japan. These clans had held together a very tight vampire society due to their rules and the fear they caused in their enemies. Let's say someone stupid decided to try and mess up their society. Well, it wouldn't end well for them. First they would kill all of his allies, then his family, and then they would torture him for weeks before finally killing that person themselves. The Miyahara Clan was famous for its control over Ice Magic; they would freeze their enemies in place and force them to watch their friends and family be slaughtered in front of them while they were helpless to stop it. That's what kept the vampire society in Japan together. A mix of both respect and fear, both rightfully earned.
Alex put on a black button-up shirt with a black suit jacket over the top of it, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. After all, you have to dress to impress, right?
Alex didn't want this marriage, but he knew there was little he could do about it. If he tried running, he wouldn't only make enemies out of his grandfather and the kingdom as a whole but also the Miyahara Clan for disrespecting them. That was a losing battle, no matter how he looked at it. So he thought he might as well just roll with it, at least for now.
Alex made his way back to the throne room and looked at his grandfather standing next to the members of the Miyahara Clan.
Toshikiyo Miyahara, the head of the clan, was one of the longest-living vampires currently alive. He was famous for his ice magic, which created ice the color of pure black, which matched the color of his hair and eyes. He even fought in the civil war between all the ruling classes and came out alive and on top. He didn't look physically threatening, but he was a man nobody would want as an enemy.
His wife was standing right next to him, Sayuri Miyahara. She had long pink hair and purple eyes. Alex didn't know much about her personally, but he knew she was famous for having a rare magic, Dream Magic. She could force people into falling asleep and have them dream anything she wanted. That power could be used for both good and evil things; she could give an insomniac a peaceful night's sleep, or she could give someone their worst possible nightmare. There was a rumor about her that she once put someone who tried to hurt her daughters asleep just for them to have a heart attack due to the fear of their dreams.
Next to her was the oldest daughter, Misaki Miyahara. She had similar features to her mother but had her father's magic abilities, except her ice was pink. She was quite beautiful and was fairly popular among the noble vampire classes. Alex had heard she was both kind and ruthless when necessary.
Besides her was the second-oldest daughter of the Miyahara Clan, Rise Miyahara. Like her mother and older sister, she had long pink hair; however, she had a bit of dyed red in her hair as well. Alex knew very little about her than she shared her father and sisters magic with ice, except hers was red, much like the dyed red in her hair.
Right next to her was the oldest son and third oldest child of the Miyahara Clan, Takuro Miyahara. She had short black hair and black eyes like his dad; however, Alex knew he actually had his mother's magical ability, making him kind of the black sheep of the Miyahara children.
Lastly, she was the youngest daughter of the Miyahara clan; however, she was only a year younger than Takuro. She looked just like her sisters and mother; however, she had purple ice. She seemed more excitable than her siblings, which fit with her being the youngest.
Alex walked up to them, and his grandfather introduced him with a smile on his face.
James: May I officially introduce my grandson, Alex.
Toshikiyo smirked before offering a handshake to Alex, who took it in kind.
Toshikiyo: I've heard a lot about you, young man. It's an honor.
Alex: Honor's all mine.
Misaki butts into the handshake and shakes Alex's hand.
Misaki: Well, hello there, Alex. As you know, my name's Misaki. We're going to be seeing a lot of each other, so I wanted to meet you as soon as possible.
Alex: Uh. Hello. Yeah...gonna be honest, this is kind of awkward for me.
Misaki: Oh, trust me, I know. Not every day you meet your future wife, huh?
Alex: Yeah, to say the least. It's good to know I'm not the only one feeling some anxiety.
Mio: So he's going to be our brother?
Rise: Yup.
Alex: Oh, hello, you two. As you know, my name's Alex. It's a pleasure meeting you.
The two other sisters both had different reactions to him. Rise seemed like she couldn't care less, while Mio seemed genuinely excited.
Mio: It's nice to meet you too!
Toshikiyo: That fight of yours was impressive. Although it was a bit more emotional than I expected.
Alex: Oh yeah...
Misaki: Who was that girl?
Alex: She's an old friend of mine. We kinda...had a falling out, and I'm trying to fix that.
Toshikiyo: I see. Well, I wish you the best of luck with that. However, for now, James, I wish to head towards our rooms.
James: Right. Alex, show them.
Alex: ...Alright.
Alex escorted the family to their rooms while being barraged by questions from Mio. Takuro and Rise were mostly quiet; Misaki stayed right by Alex's side, and the patriarch Toshikiyo seemed to listen to every word Alex said, as did his wife.
Alex: So these are your rooms; if you need anything, just ask. Someone will come around to assist you.
Sayuri: Thank you, young man.
Alex: Now, if you would excuse me.
Toshikiyo: Hang on. Tell me something: is it true that you've lived with humans?
Alex: Yes. I won't hide it; I do currently live with humans and plan on going back when I can.
Toshikiyo: Is that so?
Alex: I have made myself a little life there, and if possible, I plan to continue it once my business in the Kingdom ends.
Toshikiyo: I see; that's good to know. That's all I wanted to ask.
Alex: Alright.
Alex walked off and disappeared into the corridors as Toshikiyo looked at his family.
Sayuri: You're planning something, aren't you, dear?
Toshikiyo: Of course. I always am, after all.
