Chapter 29 - Slow down

The Next Day....

Date: 6/23/1854 

Our first true day of our forever; 2 months and 20 days since we said our goodbye under the willow tree.

As I sat inside the golden-footed tub, washing myself clean, I kept my mind as blank as I could. To help though, and most definitely unknowingly helping, Oliver, bare chested and sweaty, quickly greeted me as I sat quietly in the bathroom. He had been gone all morning, but had left a note saying he would be back. I didn't feel comfortable to wander the castle, so I decided to do what I could in the room; mainly trying to feel normal again. 

He quickly darted over to me, before hugging me with a very sticky, wet hug. He looked like one of the men from my old district that cut logs to make ends meet. 

I hesitantly wrapped my arms around him, dreading the feeling of his ickiness, and as he pulled himself away from me, our skin peeled apart from one another like a weak stamp.
