Isa lay sprawled on the floor, panting, her breath ragged and her body trembling slightly. Her dazed eyes stared at the ceiling, her mind still reeling from what had just happened. She barely even realized when she'd started touching herself—worse, she'd done it while watching her own reflection in the mirror.
"Damn… That was something." She swallowed, still catching her breath. "Was I always an autosexual, or is this just another effect of my new body?"
A brief silence filled the room before she shook her head.
"No, no, no. It's just because of this body… right?"
With a groan, she forced herself to sit up, rubbing her temples. Ugh, I need to clean up again. Might as well throw the bedsheets in the wash.
Sighing, she pushed herself off the floor and trudged into the bathroom to freshen up. After a quick shower, she tossed the sheets into the washing machine before wrapping a towel around herself and heading to her wardrobe. As she went through her clothes, she hesitated for a moment before pulling out a fresh set of black lingerie—something that felt oddly… normal now.
It wasn't until she was halfway through putting on a pair of loose black jeans that the realization hit her.
"What the…?" She stopped, staring at herself in the mirror before sighing. "Whatever. Now's not the time to be worrying about this."
Her male pride from her previous life had already taken enough hits—especially after what had just happened. She could still hear her own voice moaning and panting in her ears, the memory making her face heat up.
Cough! Cough!
"Okay! Focus. I shouldn't waste time on this."
Quickly slipping into a black sweat tee, she walked out into the hallway.
"Sai, have you finished what I asked you to do?"
A familiar synthetic voice responded instantly.
Isa paused, narrowing her eyes. There was… something different about Sai's voice. It wasn't as monotone as before—there was a slight inflection, almost like excitement.
"…Sai, why do I feel like you're happy?" she asked curiously. "Like… you're expressing emotions that weren't there before."
Isa's eyes widened slightly before a grin spread across her face.
"Whoa! As expected of a superior AI provided by the system." She chuckled. "Thanks, Sai. Keep learning and improving like that."
Even in her past life, she had always appreciated those who stood by her side. It didn't matter if Sai was an AI—loyalty was loyalty.
This time, there was unmistakable happiness in Sai's tone, but it quickly shifted into something more serious.
Isa nodded and grabbed her laptop, opening the report.
"Alright… According to my memories, there are still six months before he gets kidnapped," she muttered to herself. She scrolled down. "And—ha!—he got caught drunk with another model again. Figures."
Sigh… (A/N: Damn! Lucky playboy.)
"Well, at least that confirms this isn't some alternate universe."
She continued reading.
"As expected, SHIELD and its director are keeping an eye on everything. Black Widow is on a classified mission, Hawkeye is stationed at the Tesseract experiment site…" She scrolled further. "And Hydra…"
Her expression darkened.
"…There's barely any intel on them. Figures. An organization that's been hiding in the shadows for decades wouldn't slip up so easily."
Just as she finished reading, her phone buzzed on the table. She glanced at the caller ID—and froze.
It was her parents.
For a moment, she hesitated. Should she answer? Ignore it?
Taking a deep breath, she pressed accept and held the phone to her ear.
The first voice she heard was her mother, Aine.
"Hey, dear! It's me, your mom! How are you? Did you miss me? Are you happy to finally talk to your mother? Have you been eating properly? Hellooo? Dear~? Mouu… Why aren't you saying anything?! Are you mad at me?"
Isa's heart warmed at her mother's energetic, loving tone, a sharp contrast to the emotions she had been suppressing. It reminded her so much of her past life… of her mother.
Then, she heard her father's voice.
"Aine, slow down. How is she supposed to answer if you don't stop talking?"
"Hmph! Can you lower your voice? I'm talking to my daughter!" Aine huffed.
Isa could practically see her mother puffing her cheeks in annoyance.
Ethan sighed dramatically. "See, honey? Your mom bullies me behind your back. Witness my suffering."
Isa couldn't help it—she burst out laughing.
"Hehe—haha! Oh God!"
Aine immediately perked up. "Isa~? What's so funny? Why are you laughing so much?"
Still chuckling, Isa wiped a stray tear from her eye. "It's just… The two of you. The enigmatic couple known for their elegance and composure in the business world—who would believe you act like this in private?"
Her father scoffed. "Let people see if they want. This side of us is only for family."
Aine added playfully, "And Isa~ you shouldn't make fun of your parents like that. But I'll let it slide this time since I finally got to hear my daughter laugh."
Isa smiled. "…What are you talking about, Mom? We just spoke last night."
"That's what I'm saying~! It's been a whole night and four hours since I last heard your voice!"
Isa shook her head with a small, amused sigh.
"Well, anyway," Aine continued, "we'll be busy with meetings today, so we might not be able to call you. But we'll be heading back as soon as we're done. We'll be home tomorrow, so let's have dinner together, okay~?"
Isa's heart clenched at the warmth in her mother's voice.
"…Okay, Mom. I'll wait for you."
They talked for a little longer, and without realizing it, Isa felt tears welling up in her eyes.
"…Alright, Mom. Bye. Bye, Dad. Have a safe trip."
"Bye, dear~! Take care!"
"See you soon, honey."
The call ended.
Isa placed her phone down, but the tears kept flowing. The weight she had been carrying—the pain of betrayal, death, meeting God, reincarnation—everything came crashing down. And yet, her parents' voices had soothed her heart, melting the pressure that had been suffocating her.
Her shoulders shook as she sobbed, but this time, it wasn't from sadness.
After a long moment, she took a deep breath, wiping her tears away.
"…Thank you, God, for this new life. For this family."
Her voice trembled as she looked up.
"Mom… I don't know if you can hear me, but… I think I've found a happy family. I will be happy—just like you wished."
She closed her eyes, whispering one last thing.
"Thank you for everything. I'll always love you."
A deep breath. A final, quiet whisper.
"Goodbye."

(A/N: In the next chapter, Isa will go sightseeing! Any suggestions for places she should visit? Also, who should be the love interest? Should I add an OC or someone from the MCU?)
