The grass beneath him crunched continuously as Asher ran. At this point, it was only a matter of time before the wolves devoured him alive. Several roars echoed simultaneously, one of them being tremendously horrendous.
However, before Asher could plan something, he suddenly came to a halt as an arrow passed in front of him. Barely missing him.
'Everlasting shit.' Asher cursed internally as he once again burst forward with stunning speed. His face was hidden beneath the blood; It was as if he came right out of a horror movie.
Asher gritted his teeth as he dodged another branch in front of him. Occasionally dodging arrows as well. The growls behind him had become visibly audible.
Suddenly, a light shone in front of Asher as he ran. The light was blood-red, coming from the east...
The Blood Sun was rising.
'Shit! Not now, Goddamnit!' Asher cursed internally once again as he increased his speed tremendously. The Blood Sun rising was a bad premonition for Asher. It would give his enemies a much easier time.
He had to be fast.
Instantly, several arrows burst toward Asher. It was as if they suddenly got a tremendous boost. Asher's expression distorted as he twisted his torso, dodging the barrage of arrows, albeit barely.
Suddenly, Asher once again halted with a sharp gaze. Staring at the sword that just crashed to the ground in front of him in a fraction of a second. Instantly, a shadow appeared on the ground.
"Shit," Asher mumbled as an unfamiliar man appeared in front of him. The man had silver hair and pale white pupils. An overwhelming presence fell on Asher as he stared at the man in front of him, who was looking at him with a...
Blissful expression?
"I never thought I would meet a man in my lifetime who would give a hard time to my archers. An injured man at that." The man said with a graceful smile. The grass waved as if dancing upon his presence.
Asher stared at the man in front of him with a sharp gaze. He stared at his white tachi that lay on the ground before him.
'Does he want me to duel him?' Asher thought as he swiftly picked up his blade and took his stance. Ready for a swift battle to the death.
The Blood sun had arisen from its sleep. Covering the sky in it's might. The entire world suddenly had a bloody crimson hue. The air felt hot to breathe as Asher panted.
"Oh?" The man said as he looked at Asher's eyes. Suddenly, chills went down his spine as he once again looked at Asher. Maintaining his expression.
"What?" Asher asked as he readied himself to fight. The archers would be here anytime now. The aroma of blood entered his nose as Asher suddenly looked behind.
Twenty... no, Fourty men stood there, covered in blood. Suddenly, Asher caught a glimpse of a red fur on one of them. His eyes widened as his expression instantly turned grim.
The situation had turned from bad to worse.
'They killed the wolves?' Asher thought as his gaze went berserk. Looking for ways to escape. And the result was...
None.
'I have no chance to escape, well alive atleast.'
Suddenly, the man raised his hand, gesturing to the archers. Instantly, the archers stepped back.
Asher looked at the archers with an involuntary gaze and then looked back at the man before him.
"Don't worry. They won't interfere." The man said with a graceful smile as he held his silver blade forth. With a blissful smile, he added.
"Let's begin!"
Instantly, the man vanished as Asher sidestepped. Barely dodging the incoming thrust.
'Fast'
The man grinned as he brought his sword forward, trying to slash Asher's throat. However, his eyes widened as Asher had vanished.
Instantly, he felt a blade touching the back of his neck. Asher was about to kill the man when suddenly an arrow pierced his hand.
Asher screamed as he fell down to his knees. Blood had now stained his hands as an arrow had pierced it.
The man had lied.
'How can I be so careless?' Asher thought as he stood up, picking up his tachi from his left hand.
"You have surpassed my expectations! Should it not for the archers and my devious schemes, I would be dead by now!" The man said with a blissful smile once again as he stared at Asher.
Asher stared at the man with bloodlust as he took his stance. The wind crashed into him as bits of mud and rock went into the air as if they were enraged.
Suddenly, several chains appeared out of nowhere, floating in the sky. The archers stepped forward, ready to capture him.
"I..."
"Hm?" The man said as he looked at Asher.
"I REFUSE!" Asher screamed as he sliced the throat of the archer nearest to him. Immediately, another archer behind him staggered. Asher immediately took his chance, slicing the other archer's throat as well.
Instantly, several arrows flew towards him. Piercing Asher's legs. However, that didn't stop him.
Instantly, Asher burst forward towards another archer near a tree. The archer immediately threw his bow and unsheathed his sword.
However, it was too late. Asher immediately stabbed the archer in his chest. Killing him instantly.
"You want to capture me, right? Then you will also pay the price!" Asher shouted as the wind crashed into him once again.
Screaming Asher's rage.
