A few days later, they were back in the office, knee-deep in work.
The project they'd discussed was moving forward, and the pressure was mounting. But it was a welcome distraction.
"How's the team doing?" Tynan asked as they sat in yet another meeting, going over the latest updates.
"Good," Volkan replied. "They're making progress faster than we expected. We should be able to hit our deadline with some room to spare."
Tynan nodded, tapping his pen against the conference table. "Good. We can't afford any delays. The board is watching this project closely."
Darth listened to the conversation, nodding in agreement where needed, but his mind kept drifting.
No matter how hard he tried to focus, thoughts of Lucia kept creeping in, unbidden.
