Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 Show stopper.

With the moon high in the sky shining its bright light on the dark forest-covered lands, all seemed quiet and peaceful as it should have been. But to many wild birds and little rabbits displeasure, the quiet forest was disturbed by the loud singing coming from the little village of Einsway.

Even the village gate guards seemed unable to concentrate on their jobs properly as the songs coming out of the Dancing Dragon Inn were just too catchy. Old Man Al beating his feet on the ramparts, as he hummed along the beat of the song and sang along.

"Row, row, row your boat,

Gently down the stream,

If you see a Barbarian then don't forget to scream, Aaagh!"

Inside the Inn, massive applause once again rang out as Lili now found herself having already finished 5 different childrens songs from her past. Her eyebrows were twitching in annoyance as the crowd just kept demanding more of these cringe-inducing songs. Sure she could have kept on going for a bit more that is if she was actually getting paid well to do this. The fact of the matter was that she was tired and hungry and without money. She wasnt the type of person to beg, but she really wanted to beg for some tips but in the end, she decided to just wait. Maybe tipping just wasnt a thing here in this world oh well at least the Fat bartender had said that he would give her something. Surely after this, she would gain something really great, surely.

Feeling hot and a bit sweaty she opened up her cloak letting the part she had tied up fall to the ground. Now with the cloak dragging behind her on the ground she had just revealed her two-piece clothes that seemed like they were from the Stone Age. Taking a sip of water from her leather canteen she was completely oblivious to the fact that she had just revealed a lot of her perfect skin to the crowd who were gasping in shock at the sight.

Men and women alike started to whisper amongs one another at the sight of the strange clothes she wore that seemed a little barbaric to them. The kids on the other hand didnt see anything wrong with this instead a somewhat well-built teenage boy with brown hair was completely taken by the sight. He couldnt help but have his eyes roam over her body and be captivated by her well-defined stomach. With hearts in his brown eyes, the teen yelled to her.

"I think I have fallen in love with you! Please tell me your name!"

Seeing the teenage boy Lili didnt take him seriously as she spoke sarcastically.

"Call me Lili the shining star and I love you too!"

Then she turned to the men who had been playing with cards before. They seemed like true gamblers in her eyes, which brought a good old country song to her mind. Pointing toward the center of the Inn where the men sat she then said.

"This next one is for you fellows! This one is a tale told by one deer old man long ago. A tale that holds good advice for gambling boys like you."

The next song she decided to play was called The Gambler. It was a song that had just a moment ago come to her mind. To her own surprise the more she played the more she could feel songs from her past reemerging in her head. Even her fingers had started to play the Lute much better than ever before. She couldnt help but feel that not only was her body healthy in this life, but her mind was really quick as well. Learning new things like playing music seemed to come to her just so naturally now.

In her past none of her few friends sadly didnt much like to listen to country music. But to her great delight this time she now had a great opportunity here. These people knew nothing about country music so she had this one chance to convert all these country folks into lovers of true country music.

However, this time to add a little more to the songs she decided to start dancing a little along with the songs. Surely if she raised up the level of the performance some more the crowd couldnt help but give her something good.

"This story I'm about to tell you is something that happened a long time ago.

On a warm summer's evening,

On a carriage bound for nowhere.

There I met up with the gambler,

who soon began to speak.

He said, girl, I've made a life out of reading people's faces.

Knowing what their cards were by the way they held their eyes.

So if you don't mind my saying I can see you're out of aces, so let me give you some advice."

After a while the song came to an end and loud applause sounded out once more, this time much louder than before. To her, this was a clear sign that she was now on the right track. However the kids didnt seem as excited this time around sadly.

Nonetheless, she took in all the applause happily and once more thanked the crowd and bowed her head to them in thanks. For a moment she waited expectingly for her price, but after the applause died down all she got was demands for more.

Her little stomach growled in displeasure and her legs were shaking a little from all the walking she had done beforehand. Even her head felt a little light and she really just wanted to lay down. In defiance, she tensed up her muscles and decided to keep on going with a few more songs at least, after all no good thing is earned without some sacrifice.

Looking to the crowd she then came up with her next lineup of songs and said.

"Now this next one is for all of us fine Countryside people. Life here is tough but I want to remind you all of just how blessed you truly are. I for one do not wish for any glamorous rich life in a town. No, my heart is here in the countryside amidst this gods gifted rich soil of ours. I for one do not envy those people in the city because out here we are free people as we will be hunting, fishing and growing crops each and every day. With my next few songs, I want to make you realize just how lucky you all truly are to be living on this fine land."

Then she started singing again.

"That is why I say when I die, I wanna come back as a country girl.

No, I don't wanna be born into money, where my boots don't ever get muddy. No, that ain't no life for me. Cause a country girls is all that I ever wanted to be.

Because I'll be hunting, fishing, and loving every day.

I will be thanking God He made me this way. That's the kind of prayer that a country girl like me prays.

Cause now I'll be hunting, fishing and loving every day not worrying about the kinds of lives those city folk play. Early in the morning and till late in the evening I'll be hunting and fishing and loving every day."

As Lili kept on singing in the Inn. From the north dark storm clouds were approaching. The stars went dark and the moon disappeared and soon the whole outside world turned into pitch darkness with the Dancing Dragon Inn as the only beacon of light amongst the dark.

In the darkened night sky lightning flashed a brilliant light which alerted the northern gate guard who stood on the wall to the sight of two large approaching figures in the distance. The two figures were fully covered in black clothes and a black bandana that left only their eyes visible, but even in the darkness, it was clear to the guard that these two were no ordinary men.

Both of them were armed with swords on their sides covered only slightly by their black cloaks. The men also had muscular warrior physiques that the gate guard could clearly see even in the darkness of to cloudy night.

The two large men sat upon even larger black stallions which had massive muscles that seemed like they were just packed on out of muscles, it was a look as if they were ready to explode with power as there was no free space for more.

As they approached the village they could hear the singing in the distance and the sound of thunder in the sky and then the rain began. Seemingly uncaring of this the two kept their slow walking pace and flashed a dragon crest at the gate guard who hastily bowed to them and opened the gate.

Inside the Inn, Lili had just finished her 4th country song and it had now become clear to her that she wasnt going to get anything out of these people, now all her hopes were on the Fatman. Feeling a bit dizzy she had moved on to singing something not so energetic. In a soothing quiet tone of voice, she sang.

"Our hero, our hero, claims a warriors heart.

I tell you, I tell you, the Dragonborn comes.

With a voice wielding power of the ancient Nord arts.

Believe, believe, the Dragonborn comes.

It's an end to the evil of all Albions foes.

Beware, beware, the Dragonborn comes.

For the darkness has passed, and the legend yet grows.

You'll know, you'll know, the Dragonborns come.

Arakin, Arakin.

Naal ko, zin los, vah riin,

Wan dein, vokul, mal fo eerak, ast vaal.

Ahrk fin, noorok pal graa.

Fod nust, hon, zindo zaazin.

Arthkin, fah nin kogaanu mu draal."

Mixed in with the applause many whispers rang out true the tavern, for none knew what she had just sang of. One man then stood up on his chair and yelled to Lili.

"Is what you say true? You speak of our king Uther and his Pendragon bloodline, do you not?"

Thinking on this question she simply said some vague shit that came to her head.

"I might or I might not for this is but a song of a legend many centuries old. A great tale of an unnamed here with the blood of a dragon chosen to drive the evil away and to bring peace to the land. That is all I can say."

Reassured by her words the man spoke to all and said.

"It has to be Uther for isnt he the one who along with his 20 knights slew the great sea serpent Galgazar during the crossing of the channel of Albion? Galgazar might not have been a dragon capable of flight, but it was still a beast as tall as a hundred men. Only our King Uther, a man said to possess the strength of ten men could have slain such a beast and here you have now heard the reason why he could do it. His bloodline must possess this Dragon blood."

Lili was stunned into silence by this scene. All she had done was sing some nostalgic song that had just popped into her head and now these people were going crazy over it, coming up with their own theories of what it actually meant.

Then another man spoke in the crowd as he said.

"But, what of it? What does it mean?"

The man on the chair then spoke to all as he said.

"Isnt it obvious? It means that Lilis words in those songs are true! Our land of Albion is truly blessed! This is Gods country! We are Gods chosen people!"

All around the people cheered like crazy, even the little kids pumped their little fists in the air and joined in.

Holy shit did I just create fanatic nationalists out of these people. Thinking of this Lili felt a drop of nervous sweat come to her head as if she had just fucked up bad. Singing too patriotic songs about being blessed and all probably wasnt a good idea.

Looking around Lili noticed rain coming hard against the window and heard the loud thunder outside as she then came up with a song to calm the people down. Quickly she started playing her Lute earning the attention of the people as they eagerly awaited what she had to show them next.

Tapping her feet and hitting her strings she then started singing her final song.

"This here is a love song for all you wonderful people, now take a deep breath and listen.

On a bright summer day, I found myself wondering where were you.

But soon my friend got me talked into going out with hopes of finding you again.

With hope in my eyes, I looked for a sign of you. Till one night I found this fine place called the Dancing Dragon Inn and soon as I started singing this song you came walking in. With your hair in the wind and a smile that hit me like a hurricane. A,a,ai, a what?"

Lili stumbled over her words as the double doors to her left opened up with a loud bang and she saw him standing right there. That arrogant boy she had fought with not but a few days ago stood there with his hood pulled back and a cocky smile on his face directed at her.

How is this possible? Didnt he say something about going to see his future bride or something, what is he doing here? Why now? Oh god, I want to hide. Lili felt shivers run down her spine, on one hand, she wanted to run and never see this boy who had humiliated her, but on the other hand, she found herself stuck staring at the boy unable to look away. Something about him just seemed to draw her eyes to his.

His golden blonde hair was wet and pulled back, he looked so handsome in black that it made her little heart skip a beat unconsciously. And that fuking arrogant smile, those light blue eyes and perfect teeth. Why did this boy look so good to her? without realizing it her cheeks turned beet red and her heart started to race crazily.

Luckily he said nothing and instead turned his attention to the silent crowd. Oddly the people said nothing and just kept their heads down at the sight of this boy and his hooded friend. Some were whispering something to each other, but most seemed as if they were scared or just respectful it was hard to say. Was this boy really that important or something she couldnt help but wonder?

Then the boy lifted what seemed like a pouch of gold and said.

"Drinks on me."

And the peoples eyes immediately lit up and they erupted into cheers almost louder than she had gotten while singing, truly the power of free alcohol was strong.
