The Dancing Dragon Inn was full of men's and women's cheers thanks to the boys offering of free drinks for all. The kids on the other hand felt just annoyed by the loud addults who had interrupted Lilis song.
Seeing everyone's attention taken by the two newcomers Lili decided to end her performance here before that boy did something or more importantly she just wanted to get away as she felt like she was about to faint out of hunger and exhaustion. She felt like that arrogant boys sudden entrance had caused her blood pressure to rise which quickly drove her over the edge of her endurance. Her vision was becoming blurry and her legs felt weak.
Without thinking she took a step back away from that boy and without realizing it she stepped on her own cloak. Then she turned towards the bar and attempted to make her way towards it, but as she took a step closer to the edge of the stage her leg got caught in her own cloak and she stumbled.
A few shocked gasps rang out from the crowd. Lilis mind was a haze as she fell towards the floor, but just then something caught her fall. She felt her vision clear a little and through hazy eyes, she saw the worried look of a dark-haired, brown eyed boy. He hugged her tight and her legs hung in the air as he set her down back on her feet she swayed but he kept her still. With gentle worried words, he spoke to her and said.
"Lili, are you ok? Whats wrong?"
In a haze, Lili could see many faces staring right back at her. Some seemed curious others seemed amused as if they were watching some drama unfold, but most did seem concerned as they gathered around and watched her with worry in their eyes. But none seemed to understand at all what was going on.
Grabbing her head Lili was about to say, just let me lay down. But before she could say anything a pair of extremely strong hands that felt somewhat familiar yanked her away from the dark-haired boy. Feeling the sudden pull Lili felt like fainting just then and there, but she was just then placed flat on her back and her legs were slightly raised to an elevated position which made her blood come straight back into her head.
Feeling her vision and senses starting to come back Lili felt amazed. What, somebody here knows how to give first aid to a person who is about to faint? Maybe this medieval world isnt as primitive as I thought. Feeling weak Lili couldnt help but take a quick glance at the person helping her, all she saw was perfect-looking short golden blonde hair before she fainted.
Unknown to Lili a major argument had erupted between two teenage boys because of her. The sight of Lili falling had not gone unnoticed by the arrogant golden-haired boy almost immediately, but being too far as he was he couldnt make it in time before the dark-haired boy caught her first.
In anger of not having caught her first, he had held back and decided to let the other boy handle it, but almost immediately it became evident to him that the boy had no idea of what to do in this situation. In haste, he tried to get to her, but his black hooded partner who stood much taller than him had placed a hand on his shoulder and said.
"Dont, this has nothing to do with us. Let them handle it."
Seemingly enraged by this the boy furiously pushed his hand away and said.
"Get off me. I do as I please."
With much greater force than a teenager his age should have had he pushed himself through the crowd with ease and roared to the dark-haired boy.
"You fool! Give her to me!"
Without waiting for a response he had then yanked Lili into his arms and quickly placed her down with her legs lifted onto his knee. The other boy seemed outraged by this as he yelled at him.
"Hey thats my woman dont touch her!"
A fire of rage was immediately lit inside of his heart as he heard this comment but before he could say anything the dark-haired boy grabbed him from behind and started to pull. But his pull was weak and he managed to immediately counter. Using only his right arm he turned his upper torso slightly and grabbed him by his left arm and with force he pulled the boy close and tossed him to the ground next to him.
The dark-haired boy felt like his air was just then punched out as he lay there struggling to breathe. With furious light blue eyes, the golden-haired boy looked down at him and said.
"What do you mean, shes your woman?"
Caughing slightly the boy quickly caught his breath and a mocking smile formed on his face as he then said.
"Yeah, you heard me right. She even said it herself. She said that she loves me. Shes my lover now not yours. Your too late Golden boy."
Just then Lilis senses started to come back and her eyes opened only to see the dark-haired boy lying next to her with the arrogant boys right arm pressing down on his neck as he then started to choke. In her confusion, all Lili could say was.
"Huh? Whats going on?"
Then a middle-aged man started yelling from the crowd.
"You fuking noble brat! Let go of my son!"
Hering this Lili turned towards the arrogant boy and realized that it was he who had given her first aid. Realizing this she wanted to say something in thanks to him, but then her eyes caught the sight of a somewhat muscular man dressed in a medieval hunter outfit coming from behind the boy running towards him at full speed.
But before he could get too close the large black hooded man who had been with the arrogant boy jumped straight over Lili and the two boys and tackled the enraged man to the ground. From under the arrogant boys leg, she could see the hooded man seemingly with ease put the enraged man into an arm lock exactly like was taught in the police academy.
Seeing this Lili could not help but be impressed and wonder, did they teach those kinds of moves in the Middle Ages already? While pondering on this matter she was quickly brought back into reality by the scary-sounding words of the arrogant boy as he said.
"Lili! Tell me right now! Is it true? Is this dirty peasant boy truly your lover? Do you love him? Tell me!"
Lili couldnt help but feel confused and a bit scared as she covered her face from the many droplets of spit that came flying down her face with his enraged words. The boys words sounded so harsh that it made her want to run away in fear, but her body was still so weak that she didnt dare to do so and simply answered his strange question honestly.
"W,wa, what? What are you talking about?"
Releasing his grip on the other boys throat, the golden-haired boy then said.
"You lied to me."
In response the other boy said.
"No, I didnt. Lili you said that you love me did you not?"
Turning her head towards the boy Lili couldnt help but feel disgusted by his words as the first thought that came to her mind was. Iu, hell no dude. I'm not gay. But then she thought on it for a second and instead came up with a lighter response and said.
"Oh, come on. That was just a joke. How can you take that seriously? Have you ever heard of sarcasm before? Besides I dont even know your name so how could I even call you a friend?"
The boy seemed devastated by her words, while the crowd around seemed amused as did the golden-haired boy. Then he seemed to rethink his approach as he said.
"I, I, I'm sorry Lili I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Robin Loxley, but please feel free to call me just Robin. I know this might not be the time but please Lili. Be my woman or at least let me court you. I know we are young but in the future, I promise to become the best hunter in our village. You will have the opportunity then to eat all the meat you can possibly want and give birth to as many children as you wish."
Lilis mouth opened wide as she heard this. The fuck did this boy just say to me? I'm to get pregnant and have lots of children, what the fuck?
While Lili was lost in the boys words the golden-haired boy grabbed her into a princes carry and stood up while saying.
"How absurd. Why would she ever wish to be with some village farmer when she could serve me as one of my concubines?"
Hearing this Robin quickly stood up and tried to look big in front of this golden-haired boy who sadly was a good head taller than he. Despite this and the obvious difference in strength he didnt back down and looked up into his eyes as he said.
"Yes I'm a hunter and not rich like you, but at least with me, she could have a happy life as my one and only wife. Do you honestly think she'd ever be happy being some mistress to you?"
Hearing all of this Lili who lay in the arrogant boys arms couldnt help but say.
"Hey, stop talking about me like I'm some kind of an object. I'm not for sale or interested in any of you."
Hearing this the boys then spoke in unison as they said.
"Shut up Lili."
Once more Lili was completely baffled by these peoples words as the golden-haired boy continued his talk with Robin as he said.
"Robin you truly are one of the dumbest people I have ever met. How is it that you still havent understood what all these other people have already understood? Just look at me, do you honestly think I'm but some rich kid from a large town?"
Not understanding his words Robin then said.
"All I see is a young arrogant rich kid before me. If you're truly so great then why dont you just say who you are then? Why keep it hidden? Or maybe you're just lying and in truth, you're just a nobody."
The golden-haired boy just smirked at these words as he turned and showed the pummel of his blade to Robin. There Robin could see the same type of dragon emblem that was carved on the Inn entrance.
Lili couldnt see what Robin could see so she seemed extremely confused as Robin then gritted his teeth and backed off. Then she turned to the arrogant boy who said to Robin.
"You are a lucky boy. This night I the boy who you all shall know as Art will not take any further action on these offences committed against me here tonight. You can thank this little guardian angel in my arms for that you see I do not wish to cause her any further distress. Oh and Robin, dont you worry about any of my future mistresses. I assure you, I have what it takes to keep them all satisfied and happy."
And just like that the whole ordeal came to a quick end and even the middle-aged man who was apparently Robins father was released. The people went back to their drinking and acted as if nothing had just happened. Although all the people now seemed extremely reluctant to even look in her direction, or more specifically they didnt seem to dare and make eye contact with this Art fellow.
With great suspicion, Lili looked at this boy who was now carrying her in his arms like a princess. She couldnt help but also feel quite alarmed by this Art fellow and his words and actions. Even now he was acting as if she was some toy of his that he had just managed to take from another boys clutches. Just what were this boys true intentions, what did he want? Surely he didnt mean that what he had just said.
Soon a table was made free from its occupants by the large hooded man and Art carried Lili over to it and sat down with Lili tightly in his arms. He then carefully wrapped her in her own cloak like he was wrapping a baby in its blankets.
Already feeling much better than when she fainted Lili coulnt help but feel her pride being hurt by his actions as she said.
"You know Art I'm really grateful for your help. But you dont need to treat me like a baby, I can make it from here on my own."
To her surprise, he didnt say anything and just loosened his grip and let her do as she pleased. She looked at him suspiciously as he looked at her and then smiled which caused her to look away and get off his lap. Jumping off Lili immediately felt the blood in her head move down which made her world start to spin, but not wanting to appear weak she started moving forward toward the bar.
As she took her third step her eyes went completely hazy once more and she felt like she was about to lose consciousness once more, but then a pair of firm hands took hold of her again. She stood there only capable of standing because of the firm hands that kept her steady.
The truth was that despite her best efforts to not notice it her stomach had been growling at regular intervals all this time and there was now a stinging pain in her legs. Even other parts of her body had started to also hurt. No matter how hard she wanted to keep on going, her young body just couldnt keep up anymore and now she was at her breaking point.
Lost in this world alone with no friends around her she couldnt help it as tears started to form in her eyes and in that moment of weakness she then cried out softly.
"Please help me."
