Chapter 2 - Another World

"Welcome, dear Heroes..." An golden eyed priestess with long silver hair, who's standing on a pedestal, says and looks at them, but a look of confusion appears on her face.

Caesar looks around and sees about 6 people in hoods standing around the magical cricle that they are standing on. Theyre in a dark room that's lightened by multiple torches on the wall. There are also a few people in heavy armors holding steels swords, standing before a big door in the back of the room.

"Where are we? What is the meaning of this and shat do you mean by calling us "heroes"?!" Caesar showers her with those questions while keeping a serious, unsure and confused tone.

Cornelia leans against him, barely able to stay on her feet.

"My head and body hurts so much... I cant withstand it..." She says in a muffled voice that shows how much pain she is experiencing.

"Oh? Thats weird. Only two? Ahh, mages prepare for one more, I think that the third one was a failure." The priestess says in a calm and collected tone.

She puts her fingers on her chin and a beautiful silver staff with a huge white crystal marble floating above it appears in her hand. She then looks down at Caesar.

"Anyways... To answer your questions boy, you two were summoned to become new heroes to help us in fighting the Kingdom Of Monsters Clitohe. Pick that weakened girl up and come over take a seat." She says in her calm tone.

She gracefully steps off the pedestal and sits down on one of the red couches that are behind the pedestal, she leans the staff against the couch, gesturing them to sit down.

Caesar is not sure if he can trust her, but he picks Cornelia up on his back and starts to walks towards the priestess.

Cornelia grips his uniform tightly while breathing heavily. She seems to have fever.

Ceasar gently lies her down on the other couch and sits down next to her while looking at the priestess.

"Who exactly are you... and where is the guy who was with us earlier? Where is my best friend?" He says in a serious tone while looking straight into the her eyes.

"Ahhh sorry sorry, my name is Catherine, I am the grand priestess of the Writhanian Church." She says in her usual calm tone with a small smile of her face.

"So in the end there was a third one with you? I don't know where he is, nothing like that never happened before. When I think about it he maybe was too weak to withstand the summoning process, I guess?" She says with her mouth slightly open in wonder.

Catherine then stands up from the couch and picks her stuff up. She points it towards Cornelia.

"Heal." She says calmly.

A bright green light starts to fly from the staff into Cornelia's body. Her heavy breathing stops imiedatly. She slowly sits up and rubs her eyes like she wasnt sick 5 seconds ago.

"Huhh... Where are we?" She says in a confused tone while looking at Caesar.

"To make it simple, we were Isekai'd, but..." He looks over at Catherine.

"...That was magic wasn't it?" He asks her curiously, but still keeping his serious tone.

"Yeah, it was." She answers and pulls her staff away from Cornelia.

"We got summoned into another world? Really? Oh my god, even magic exists in this world, just like in those fantasy anime!" Cornelia says in a happy and excited tone.

Caesar looks over at her with an confused look on his face.

"Why are you so happy Cornelia? We got taken away from all our friends and families." He says clearly very surprised and confused by her additute towards this situation.

"I have always been craving to have some adventure, to get out of this boring life, so I will tske the chance." She answers with excitement both in her voice and on her face.

Caesar then looks over at Catherine, again with a serious look on his face.

"Is there any way we can go back to our world?" He asks, it is clear that he wants to go home.

"I don't know. I was born with blessing of the goddess. This blessing lets the person that eas born with it summon heroes to our world, but it only works for one day since the first activation, it also needs a lot of mana to be gathered for it to work, we only have enough mana for the summoning of only 1 more person, but our mages all need to have a little rest. So the conclusion is that I only can summon, but even if I could send back I couldn't do it because there is not enough mana to send back 2 people." She says once again in her calm voice that's like honey to the ears.

Caesar's brain almost melts when he tries to comprehend what the hell is she saying.

"Blessing of the Goddess?" Caesar asks her with curiousity.

She sits down on the couch again and leans the staff against the wall next to the couch.

"Blessing of the Godess is said to be an authority that is given to heroes, but also some normal humans, tho its so rare that the people who posess it can be counted on one hand." She says while playing with her hair and smiling at him, it seems that she can smile after all.

While they're both talking to each other, Cornelia walks around the huge summoning room like a little kid, looking at the mages and the knights that are guarding the door.

She spots Catherine's stuff lying against the wall and imiedatly starts to walk towards Catherine and Caesar.

"Oh... I understand... wait! How can we understand you? Its literally impossible for two worlds to have the literal same language!" He says while scratching the back of his head in wonder.

Cornelia picks up Catherine's stufd and inspects it with glimmering eyes. Catherine looks at her in amusement before looking at Caesar.

"Ahh, its simple! There is a spell that replaces language of the target with the language the one who casts the spell. In other words you two don't know your former language." She says calmly like its not a big deal.

"I know that there's no way that im coming back to my world... but thats just not right thing to do yknow?" He sighs and says while rolling his eyes.

She giggles at his response and then stands up from the couch and smiles.

"Caesar, Cornelia..." She says kindly.

"What?" They both say in unison.

"Are you two ready to become heroes?" She asks with a kind and encouraging tone.

Cornelia stands up on the piedestal and holds out Catherine's staff towards them.

"Of course! I am gonna become the greatest hero that has set their foot in this world!" She says with a smile, clearly hiding her sadness after Creator's disappearance and something else.

Caesar then stands up and smiles.

"If we really are stuck here in this world, I cannot just sit there and do nothing, I was chosen to be a hero and if its the only think that I can do to help humanity, then I'll do it." He says in an determined tone looking into Catherine's eyes. There seems to be also a hint of sorrow deep inside of him, because he lost his best friend.

"Knights, open the door ans you mages, prepare for the last summoning, I am gonna be right back in some time." She says in her usual calm tone.

"Yes Ma'am!" The knights say in unison.

The knights start to pull the 2 big doors that lead to a staircase.

Meanwhile all the 6 mages start to meditate with their hands placed on the magical circle on the ground.

"I will take you two to a place where a magical item specifies what kind of Goddess' Blessings you both have." She says kindly to Caesar and Cornelia.

She leaves the room and she slowly walks up spiral stairs with Caesar and Cornelia. She notices that Cornelia is amazed by her staff and she smiles.

"You can have it Cornelia, lets just say thats its a gift for our hero." She says kindly.

Cornelia's eyes widen in excitement and happiness, just like if she is a kid.

"Really? Really? Oh my god! Thank you Catherine!" She says with pure joy in her voice while holding the staff even tighter.

Its still raining in the park. An ambulance is parked in the middle of the park, its sirens are loud and the puddles of water are reflecting the red and blue light.

Giulia is kneeling down next to his body, that's been already covered with a white blanket.

"BROTHER! YOU LIAR LIAR LIAR! YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU LOVE ME AND THAT YOU ALWAYS WILL! YOU PROMISED ME THAT YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE ME! YOU LIAR LIAR! I HATE YOU I HATE YOU! YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE I HAS, AND NOW?! IM ALL ALONE!" She screams with tears leaving her eyes, while the medical lifeguards try to pull her away from the body.

He pats her back softly.

"Im sorry Giulia, im really sorry... I never wanted to die and you know that I love you, you silly..." He says to her with a little smile of sorrow on his face.

No matter what he did or said, she couldn't even feel his pressence, because he is now a ghost.

He tries to wipe her tears, but he can't touch her. The only thing he can do right now is close his eyes and wait for the Grim Reaper to collect his soul.

When he opens his eyes he finds himself in a white room in front of a beautiful lady with golden eyes, long golden hair and divine beauty, he has never seen anyone more beautiful in his life.

"Huh?"

"Hello my dear child. My name is Erina, I am the Goddess of Creation." She says kindly, smiling gently. Her voice is soothing and kind.

"A Goddess? Why am I here, instead of the place where the grim reaper carries the souls of the ones who died?" He says in confusion, but its clear that he is stunned by her beauty.

"Uhh... umm... you see... I'm going to reincarnate you into a new body in the new world alright?" She says with a kind voice, but its clear that she is hiding something and doesn't want to talk about it.

She snaps her fingers and he is suddenly in his body, or so it seems that its his old body.

"I gave you a new body that your soul got reincarnated into, your new body took the of your soul. Its the physical form of my mana so... technically im your mother now. You also will be getting the godd-..." She is speaking kindly till he interrupts her mid sentence.

"...Youre awfully kind to me, great goddess Erina. Is there a reason why?" He says while rising her eyebrows in a curious way, cleaely suspecting her of hising something.

"Fine... fine... my dear child, I'll tell you the truth... The truth is that I am the one who accidently killed you." She says with an embarassed tone while looking down.

"HUUH?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ACCIDENT?! YOU KNOW HOW MY SISTER FEELS NOW, THAT IM GONE? AND THE HELL YOU MEAN BY "ACCIDENT" YOU... YOU... YOU GODDES!?" He says loudly clearly judging her about everything.

He steps closer to her and grabs her by the shoulder not caring if he is gonna damage her beautiful dress.

"Hey... hey... listen to me my dear child! You were supposed to be summoned right? So you would just dissapear with no trace, you understand? Its a lot better this way! Your sister thinks that you've died, otherwise she would think that you've abandoned her!" She exclaims nervously, obviously still embarassed from her mistake.

He releases his grip on her slender shoulders and sighs.

"Okay, you got a point here, so do you mind sharing how the hell have you killed me by accident?" He asks, his tone is a little bit calmer than before, but he is still holding a grudge towards her.

She gently caresses her shoulder and her face turns a little red from embarassement.

"You know... even gods and goddesses need to use the toilet sometimes..." She hides her face in her hands while speaking.

"How does this information relate to my death?" He asks in annoyed tone.

"Shush! So basically... yknow there is only one human who can summon people called "heroes". I myself cannot interract with any of the worlds unless I make a mistake for example I've accidently killed you so I will reincarnate you in the other world, because I can't just ressurect you, because it would cause too much mess in your former world. So basically the one who summons the heroes has the divine permission to use me as an intermediary to summoning heroes. She does her thing and then I need to open a gate to summon an described amount of people..." She stops speaking for a moment and her ears turn red like pepper, she burries her face in her hands even more.

"This time the "summoner" took me by surprise... I was pooping... and in the middle of my painful diarrhea, I needed to open a gate... I oppened it, because I needed to... but due to the sudden pain in my stomach I've accidently sent too much mana... and the mana turned into a thunderbolt that hit you... I'm really sorry my dear child!" She continues to hide her face in her hands.

"Fine... it has already happened, holding a grudge wont turn back the time... I forgive you, Ooh Great Goddess." He says the last part with sarcasm.

She looks up at him confused, her embarassement dissapears as soon as it appeared.

"Call me "Mother", but anyways... you forgive me so easily? Youre a kind person... sometimes at least..." She says and giggles softly.

"So you will reincarnate my soul into a new body huh? Is there any way of coming back to my former world? I want to meet my sister again and apologize to her... she's all alone now... it makes me sad... and it hurts to know that I can't do anything about it..." He closes his hand into a fist and clenches it tightly, some tears leave his eyes.

She gently wipes his tears and gives him a heartwarming pat on the head.

"I'm sorry, I don't know if there is any way to go back by yourself. I know that its possible, but I can't break the rules just for you my dear child." She says in a soothing tone, her smile is almost blinding him with motherly affection.

For the first time of his existence, he learns how it feels to be supported by a motherly figure. He stops crying and smiles.

"Thank you, Goddess..." He says with a smile on his face, he almost seems to be... happy?

She then ruffles his hair and looks up at him.

"So lets get you going, shall we." She says kindly, her soothing voice dripping with honey.

He nods still smiling at her. He releases the tension in his fist.

"Good luck then, my child." She says and ruffles his hair once again.

She then takes a step back and spreads her arms.

"Goodbye." She says with pure love in her voice.

He slowly starts to vanish from the realm.

"Goodbye... and thank you for another chance..." He says with kindness in his voice and he vanishes.

She stands there for a moment and then a moment of realization reaches her mind.

"Oh no! I forgot!" She says to herself with surprise and worry. She truly is a clumsy and silly goddess.
