In the dark, empty void, Eiden curled up into a ball. Leaning against a wall, he held his knees close, staring at the ground.
He could still hear them. People chanting and praising his opponent. Their voices echoed but he wasn't bothered by it.
'Am I dead?' He asked inwardly. Time seemed to slow down where he was, it took longer than usual to blink his eyes. Maybe he was just tired.
Maybe.
The echos ceased and silence took its course, weaving the atmosphere into serenity and tranquility.
'i lost huh,' Eiden sighed. He wanted to be the last hope, the one that everyone would count on in the end. He wanted to be the one responsible for getting them home again…..he wanted to be the hero.
His friends, out there fighting against beasts. They would die without him to guide them. It sounds self complacent but even though the rest were giving it their all, he believed that he alone was capable of returning them home.
