The others halted.
Unable to think straight, Eiden held his mouth tightly with one hand and the torch in the other. His body quivered with fear, fear of dying.
Up on the pillar sat an owl unlike any size he had seen before. Its feathers were pitch black, blending perfectly into the darkness. The claws that held tightly to the top of the pillar were large, almost like they were capable of picking a human up. Its red beak was curved, ending at a sharp tip.
Though its eyes were closed and it remained still, the amount of fear it triggered was inevitable.
Eiden's eyes were glued to the creature, afraid that if he looked away its eyes would snap open. He gulped. Yiwen beside him wasn't eluded. Seeing a beast for the first time ever was terrifying.
"Eiden" Commander Ren called. Struggling to move his head, Eiden's body shook with fear. His eyes were now on the commander, beads of sweat forming and dropping from his temples.
