Sylas's expression grew serious. Up close, he could truly feel the power and intimidation of the mutated zombie. He also realized his own shortcomings: he lacked close combat skills, which put him at a disadvantage in such a fight.
"Quick and decisive, I can't drag this out," Sylas thought to himself. He quickly devised a plan to take down the mutated zombie.
Sylas charged forward again, and as he approached the mutated zombie, he suddenly leaped into the air. Using telekinesis on himself, he vaulted over the zombie's head. While in midair, Sylas twisted and delivered a powerful slash to the back of the zombie's neck. The surprise attack caught the zombie off guard. Sylas's immense strength allowed the katana to slice through the zombie's neck, severing its head.
Without its head, the mutated zombie lost all ability to fight. Its massive body collapsed to the ground with a thud. Sylas grabbed the zombie's head and fled quickly. The head still contained an Energy crystal, which Sylas wasn't going to leave behind.
Zombies quickly surrounded the area but were unable to catch Sylas. Using telekinesis, he darted across rooftops and walls, easily outrunning them. Once he was safe, Sylas split open the zombie's head and retrieved the Energy crystal inside.
Sylas absorbed the Energy crystal. This time, he had the option to direct the absorbed energy to one of his abilities. Sylas had control over fire manipulation, telekinesis, and Innate Strength. He could choose to allocate the Energy crystal to any of these abilities.
Sylas chose to enhance his fire manipulation ability. Among his powers, fire manipulation had the greatest destructive potential. By strengthening this ability, he could kill zombies more efficiently.
After absorbing the Energy crystal, Sylas continued his hunt for more mutated zombies. At night, zombies became more active, making it relatively easy to find suitable targets. After much effort, Sylas finally completed his task of killing ten mutated zombies.
The tenth mutated zombie was finally slain. Even with his great power, Sylas let out a breath of exhaustion. Thankfully, the task was complete. He received his reward: the special title of Night King.
**Night King:** "Increases combat power by 50% in dark environments."
Sylas was thrilled with this reward. The Night King title significantly boosted his combat power by 50%. Though it couldn't be used during the day, its effectiveness at night was more than enough.
Eager to test the power of the Night King title, Sylas looked for a suitable target. Ordinary zombies wouldn't suffice; only a mutated zombie could provide a proper challenge. Suddenly, he spotted a speed-type mutated zombie. It had a slender build but moved very quickly.
Sylas began to conjure a fireball. Sensing the energy, the mutated zombie became alert and scanned the surroundings. Sylas stepped out from his cover and hurled the fireball at the mutated zombie.
Sensing the immense power within the fireball, the mutated zombie tried to evade the attack.
At that moment, Sylas used telekinesis on the mutated zombie's feet, causing it to fall to the ground. The fireball struck the zombie, triggering a massive explosion. The small-framed mutated zombie was blown to pieces. Sylas stood there, stunned by the sheer power of the fireball.
Previously, his fireball attacks could injure mutated zombies but never had such a devastating effect. This was the result of the Night King title's 50% combat power boost. What used to merely wound mutated zombies now had the power to kill them instantly.
Sylas quickly ran over, grabbed the zombie's head, and turned to leave, chased by a horde of ordinary zombies. However, these regular zombies posed no threat to him. Sylas was extremely satisfied with the Night King's effect, especially its performance in combat.
"Let's find a strength-type mutated zombie to test this on," Sylas thought. Speed-type zombies had lower defense compared to strength-type zombies, so he needed to be sure the power boost worked against tougher opponents.
As it turned out, even the strength-type mutated zombies couldn't withstand a single enhanced fireball. The large, powerful mutated zombies were also crippled by the explosion. If hit in the head, even the strength-type mutated zombies were killed instantly.
