Chapter 48 - Mark of Warrior

Dwight saw them about to leave and hurriedly shouted, "Don't go! None of you are leaving, come back!"

It was the first time he had seen such beautiful women, and naturally, he didn't want them to leave.

Though the warehouse was not short of women, the ones inside couldn't compare to these three beauties in front of him.

Upon hearing this, Sylas's gaze turned cold.

Sylas said coldly, "What do you want to do?"

Dwight arrogantly replied, "Kid, I'll give you a chance to live. Hand them over, and from now on, I'll have your back."

"You want to die!"

Sylas responded coldly. As soon as he finished speaking, a Desert Eagle appeared in his hand, and he fired a shot at Dwight.

Sylas knew that Dwight probably had some unusual abilities, which is why he chose to use a handgun.

Originally, Sylas had intended to talk and maybe make some deals with the other party.

But this person immediately demanded Sylas's women, clearly showing he was no good. There was nothing more to discuss.

They could start fighting directly.

The bullet hit Dwight's forehead and sent him flying.

Dwight let out a scream but wasn't killed.

He got up from the ground with a grim expression, a bullet lodged in his forehead.

To be hit in the forehead by a Desert Eagle and still not be dead, his defense was indeed extraordinary.

Sylas didn't have such defensive capabilities.

Dwight said grimly, "You still want to kill me? Don't dream about it, I have an immortal body."

Dwight's ability was having super strong defense, making his entire body invulnerable to knives and bullets.

Relying on this ability, he was able to conquer this warehouse.

So even when faced with Sylas's handgun attack, Dwight was not afraid at all.

To be honest, when Sylas fired the shot earlier, it really did startle Dwight.

However, Dwight only felt something hit his head. Although the bullet's kinetic energy knocked him to the ground, he wasn't injured.

Now, Dwight wasn't even afraid of bullets.

Sylas glanced at Dwight without much surprise.

After all, Dwight's body looked unusual, so having some extraordinary abilities was not surprising.

Sylas fired several more shots at Dwight, hitting his forehead, cheeks, chest, and throat.

But the bullets were all stopped by Dwight's skin, unable to cause any harm.

Dwight laughed triumphantly, striding towards Sylas.

Waving the machete in his hand, Dwight said smugly, "Now you see how formidable I am. I can't be killed, you fool. No matter how many shots you fire, you can't kill me."

"Now, I'll give you one last chance. Hand over the three women behind you, or I'll kill you."

Sylas found it amusing and said calmly, "No wonder you're so ugly; it's because you're so stupid."

As Sylas spoke, the Desert Eagle in his hand disappeared, replaced by a fire axe.

Considering Dwight's defense, a katana might not be able to break through, so Sylas chose a heavy weapon, the fire axe.

Seeing Sylas's weapon suddenly change from a handgun to a fire axe, Dwight was momentarily stunned.

Dwight realized that Sylas was not an ordinary person either.

However, Dwight didn't sense the danger.

After all, his defense could stop handgun bullets, let alone a mere axe.

What Dwight didn't understand was that while a bulletproof vest might stop bullets, it couldn't withstand the impact of a cannonball.

The power of a cannonball far exceeds the defensive limits of a bulletproof vest.

Suddenly, Sylas charged forward.

Sylas moved so quickly that Dwight had no time to react.

Sylas's ability is super strong defense, but his other abilities are quite average.

So when facing Sylas, it's not surprising that reactions would be a bit sluggish.

"Die!" Dwight shouted, swinging his machete at Sylas.

Sylas accelerated and dodged, easily avoiding Dwight's attack.

The fire axe in his hand came down heavily on Dwight's arm.

With a dull thud, Dwight's arm was chopped off.

Sylas possessed Innate Strength, allowing his hands to wield the axe with thousands of pounds of force.

Dwight's defense was strong, relying on his skin.

But even such powerful skin has its defensive limits.

Sylas had surpassed those limits.

Dwight looked at his severed arm and let out a belated, piercing scream.

He never imagined he would lose an arm to an axe.

Sylas swept his leg, knocking Dwight to the ground.

Raising the axe, Sylas brought it down hard on Dwight's neck.

Blood spattered, and Dwight's head was severed.

Dwight was dead.

Sylas cleanly and swiftly killed Dwight.

No one expected that the previously arrogant Dwight would be killed by Sylas just like that.

"Well done, so well done!"

"That bastard is finally dead."

"Are we saved?"

The women in the warehouse, seeing Dwight killed, suddenly began to cheer, and some of them started crying with joy.

Sylas looked at the disheveled women and knew they had been abused a lot. No wonder they were so happy after Dwight was killed.

The remaining men, seeing this scene, had looks of fear on their faces.

They had followed Dwight and done many bad things, and they didn't know if this man would kill them as well.

Sylas didn't pay attention to the crowd but looked somewhat peculiarly at Dwight's body on the ground.

At the moment Sylas killed Dwight, a ball of light invisible to ordinary people rose from Dwight's body and entered Sylas.

This was Dwight's energy.

Now that Sylas had killed Dwight, he obtained this energy.

Dwight's energy was not insignificant, comparable to that of three mutated zombies.

This was why Sylas looked at Dwight so peculiarly.

It turned out that killing mutated humans yielded more benefits than killing mutated zombies.

Also, there shouldn't be an Energy crystal in a human brain.

Because Sylas didn't feel the presence of an Energy crystal in Dwight's brain.

Perhaps this is one of the differences between living humans and zombies.

Sylas withdrew his gaze from Dwight and looked at the people in the warehouse.

Facing Sylas's gaze, everyone, both men and women, showed signs of fear.

After all, Sylas had just killed Dwight, and the abilities Sylas displayed were truly powerful.

To them, Dwight was already an invincible monster.

But Dwight was killed by this person in an instant.

It's imaginable how powerful this person must be.

Sylas said calmly, "Don't worry, I won't kill indiscriminately. I'm just here to take some supplies from the warehouse."

Naturally, no one was willing to comply with Sylas's request.

After all, they lived in the warehouse, and if Sylas took the supplies, what would they eat and drink?

But faced with the powerful Sylas, they didn't have the courage to refuse.

"Sir, can we leave with you?"

"We can work for you, and if you need, we can serve you," one woman stepped forward and said.

Sylas shook his head and said, "Sorry, I don't have the capacity to take you all, and I don't need so many people."

What Sylas said was true.

Among these women, none met Sylas's standards for an exceptional slave.

Naturally, Sylas had no interest in these women.

"Random Task: Rescue at least ten female survivors, reward: Mark of the Female Warrior."

Mark of the Female Warrior: "Use on a female to transform her into a female warrior."

Sylas curiously checked the task reward.

This task reward was indeed interesting.

It would give Sylas the ability to transform female warriors.

These female warriors would have certain combat abilities and could improve their fighting strength by killing zombies.

Sylas would have absolute control over the transformed female warriors.

These female warriors would become Sylas's most useful soldiers.

Sylas didn't expect the system to create such a beneficial feature.

The number of women around Sylas would undoubtedly increase.

Therefore, Sylas never considered having other men around him.

He didn't trust these men.

But if he brought women along, there would be no problem.

Sylas previously dismissed these women as having no use, so he didn't consider taking them along.

But now, with the system task and the possibility of transforming female warriors, Sylas had different thoughts.

Seeing the disappointed women in front of him, Sylas changed his tone and said, "Tell me about your situation here. Are these men your family or friends?"

"Absolutely not! These men are scum, all of them," one woman said angrily.

She looked at the men before her with eyes full of resentment and anger.

The other women also looked at these men with fury.

"Don't talk nonsense! If it weren't for us protecting you, you'd be dead by now. Have you forgotten that when there were zombies at the door, we were the ones who went out to kill them?" a man loudly retorted.

"You know exactly what you did to us. Do you have the nerve to say you protected us? You animals, did you ever treat us like women?" another woman angrily questioned.

The men wanted to argue but fell silent under Sylas's cold gaze.

They weren't afraid of these women, but they feared Sylas might decide to kill them.

"What's your name?" Sylas asked the woman who had first suggested leaving with him.

"Sir, my name is Tilda," she quickly replied.

She knew that their lives were in the hands of this man before them, so she showed utmost respect when facing Sylas.
