Ivar groggily woke up at the table. He slowly opened his eyes to see a blurry black figure standing in the corner of his eyes.
"Who is it?!" Ivar panicked as he pushed his leg to stand up. But he couldn't.
He couldn't feel his legs.
"Calm down. Your transplant was successful. Have a look at your legs." Ivar dragged his body up with his arms, which were a little numb.
He looked down, towards his legs, only to see bandages wrapped around his legs.
"You should be able to feel your legs within a day a two. You should start by trying to move your toes. Don't be too hard upon yourself."
The man dragged a chair with wheels and pushed it near the white table.
Ivar confusedly looked at the chair.
"This is a wheelchair. Your first time seeing it?"
Ivar nodded.
"Well, you are probably going to stay in this for a week so you better remember it." Without waiting for Ivar's reply, Vector picked up Ivar and sat him down in the wheelchair.
"Lord Vector…" Ivar, who was still disoriented, asked the man.
"Yes?"
"Do you have medicine to recover quickly? I need to get stronger… fast. Need to get stronger."
Vector pulled out a notebook from his coat and put it in Ivar's bandaged lap.
"There is no medicine to heal fast for this but do read this book when your brain is less confused. It looks like the anesthesia still hasn't worn off." Vector quickly replied.
Ivar looked at the notebook on his lap and asked, "What does it have?"
"Experiences of previous people who got the surgery. Mind you, As I had good hopes for you, I gave you the transplant in all places below your hips. For them, It was below knees."
Still, under the effect of anesthesia, Ivar couldn't comprehend those sentences and just replied, "Ohh…"
"Also you can take these pills if you are feeling too much pain. The next step for you to do after recovering is to train with the puppies below and reach the next circulation. Then you will finally adapt according to my theory."
"Until then you just have to guide minuscule amounts of Vital energy to your transplanted muscles to heal a little easily and adapt to your muscles. If you don't do that, the muscles may reject you and be killed off by your immune system." Vector smiled looking at Ivar.
Ivar absentmindedly nodded.
Vector sighed and looked at the ceiling, "Man! If only I had vital energy it would be a lot easier to experiment and explain. But no! I had to be blessed with Universal essence and an ability."
Ivar confusedly looked at Vector.
Vector realized and replied, "Oh? Nothing much. Now you know ability users don't use Vital energy. It is an open secret anyway. Let me tell you, Universal essence, as we have it, is available in the atmosphere itself and it can be used outside of the body, unlike Vital energy which needs to be transformed into aura first."
Suddenly the door to the room was opened and a dog man with flaps of skin in his face entered the room.
"Lord Vector… You call?" Puggy asked.
"Yes. You need to take Ivar below where your pack lives. What was that place called again?"
"You named it Nekell."
"Yes! Nekell. Take him there and feed him with the nutritious food pills 5 a day, 2 in the morning, 1 in the day, and 2 in the night. After his legs heal, train him intensely until he completes the next circulation, and then inform me." Vector quickly instructed Puggy.
"Ok. Lord Vector."
***
Puggy picked up Ivar's wheelchair and followed a specific set of stairs to arrive at a huge hollow sphere carved underground.
As Puggy descended the stairs, Ivar saw the different buildings built in a pagoda style. The sphere which had a radius of about 2 kilometers was mostly packed with houses and trees.
There was even a small clear pond in one place.
Ivar looked at the place where they arrived. It was on a platform above the height of even the tallest house. It was in the "Walls" of the place. There were a few chairs to sit on and look at all of the houses all over what Puggy and Vector called Nekell.
Ivar looked all around the circle and there were multiple sets of stairs and platforms similar to the one they arrived from. All of them were at the same height, making it a beautiful symmetrical sight.
"Beautiful right?" Puggy said as he put Ivar's wheelchair down.
"This is the home… of dog men! Nekell"
"It's beautiful." Ivar was shocked at the grandeur of the underground city. There were light-emitting stones in the ceiling too!
"Let's go! You will stay with the doctor until you recover! After that, I will take you to the dojo to train!"
Puggy pushed the wheelchair through the inclined slopes beside the stairs, which were leading to the ground of the sphere.
Puggy finally arrived on the ground and was greeted by some of the dog men. They lightly bowed to him as a sign of respect. Puggy likewise nodded back at them.
As Puggy walked past them, Ivar heard their whispers.
"Why did lord Puggy bring a human?"
"Is it a public execution?"
"No way! We don't hate humans that much!"
Ivar shuddered as he heard "public execution". Puggy didn't seem like that kind of guy. He seemed quite nice and add on to the fact that Vector needed Ivar alive, Ivar was sure he wouldn't be killed.
But, He mightn't have as good of a time. He only hopes that the doctor treats him well.
Also, Ivar noticed that most of the dog men didn't have those flaps in the face that made breathing harder, unlike Puggy.
Puggy kept pushing the wheelchair through the clean street as the dog men lightly bowed to Puggy with a lot of respect plastered on their faces. But as soon as they looked at Ivar, their face would scrunch up in a frown.
Puggy finally arrived in front of a white-colored two-story house and shouted, "Zhawg!! I have someone…that you need to take care of."
Immediately a dog man with black fur, straight wolf-like ears, and blue eyes came from inside and replied, "What's the matter, Puggy?"
"I need you… to take care of… this human… Ivar." Puggy replied.
Zhawg looked at Ivar and contemplated, " Ivar, I see…"
Ivar had a bad feeling looking at Zhawg's smirk.
