Chapter 27 - Chapter 26 The First Domino

[Well, this chapter went a bit off the rails.

The story I talked about yesterday has one chapter up, and I went with "A Thief In Marvel" It's an extensive and unique Marvel Universe I created after mixing and mashing many different aspects of Marvel together.

So yeah, check it out, that is an order.]

Garp at this time was in his office, chomping down on rice cakes with a bored expression.

The room was dimly lit, papers scattered across the desk, and the faint scent of old leather and rice cakes lingering in the air.

"I wonder what Sengoku is doing," Garp murmured to himself, considering whether he should go to Sengoku's office to cure his boredom.

He thought about it for a second, then shook his head and closed his eyes.

Like the trained professional he was, he fell asleep instantly.

Augustus, who stood outside at that time, slowly opened the door and walked in.

The snot bubble on Garp's nose, which had been growing larger and smaller in correspondence to his breathing, popped as his sharp eyes opened.

"Who are you, boy?" Garp said, sitting upright on his chair, his eyes piercing through the invisibility magic as if it didn't exist.

"Hello, I am Augustus", he said, dispelling the invisibility magic.

"What do you want?" Garp asked, reaching for another rice cake.

"You know you can get into a lot of trouble for breaking into Marineford," he said, chucking a rice cake into his mouth.

"Well, I am here because I can see the future," Augustus said with a smile.

"Oh?" Garp's hand, reaching for another rice cake, stopped.

"It's more of a general future, not specific. I can't tell what you'll do the next second, but what I can tell you is that your grandson Luffy... will be executed. And just like with Ace, you won't be able to do a thing about it," Augustus said.

Garp removed his legs from the table and stood up, slamming his fist on the desk, causing a crack to form.

His eyes blazed with anger. "Boy, you better start making sense," Garp demanded, his voice low and dangerous.

Augustus smiled. He had Garp in the exact emotional state he needed him to be in.

...

Time passed, and a day later, Augustus received the call from Whitebeard, accepting Augustus's help.

Augustus smiled to himself as he sat on the throne facing Tony.

"So, are the missiles locked onto Marineford?" Augustus asked.

A major reason Augustus even wanted a satellite was not so that Shanks would simply train Godfrey.

No, it was for this, to create missiles that can lock onto a target and rain down hell on them.

The process of creating the rocket that sent the satellite also helped speed up the production of these missiles.

"We only have enough for Marineford right now," Tony said, sighing heavily, rubbing his temples. "Your Majesty..." Tony hesitated, clearly reluctant.

He had given up weapons, but faced with Augustus's order, he had no choice but to comply and create missiles with Vegapunk's help.

Tony's reluctance was not something Augustus bothered with however.

Tony was totally loyal, so it didn't matter.

"Good. When the war starts and Whitebeard's crew enters the battle, launch the missiles. We have to wipe out as many people as we can from both sides," Augustus ordered.

"How is the nuclear bomb looking?" Augustus asked Tony.

Tony, avoiding eye contact, responded quietly, "Your Majesty... what about the people who will die?"

"Mary Geoise has very powerful people within it. We have to deal severe damage to it before we can stand a chance of winning against the World Government," Augustus said.

"This will also destroy the symbol of the World Government making our Conquest easier and this will directly show our power to the rest of the world, making our path just that much smoother"

Tony wanted to argue but held himself back. He understood that this is what war was.

Ruthlessness.

"What about Vegapunk?" Augustus asked, knowing Tony's loyalty but unsure about Vegapunk.

"He made it clear that he does care but as long as we provide him with interesting things, he won't betray us," Tony said.

"Okay, good. Leave," Augustus ordered. Tony nodded and left.

"Everything is in place for my rule," Augustus said, standing up and entering a portal he created, which led him to the training grounds in Alabasta where Godfrey was currently.

Stepping through, the heat hit Augustus, but it was almost nothing to him now.

Loud shouts of soldiers practising drill after drill resounded in the distance while Godfrey was on a separate training ground, practising his powers.

"Godfrey, we will soon go to war, but these soldiers will be mostly unnecessary" Augustus said.

To him, soldiers were becoming a bit useless.

He already had weapons of mass destruction and powerhouses such as Stephen, Godfrey and Tony hell even Vegapunk.

The System had told him that if Augustus could mass-produce at least 10 Nuclear bombs, it would push the defence level to 4 and give him 50,000 points. That was 5 Emperor or 5 peak Vice Admiral level powerhouses, all of whom, once they reach a certain mastery over Haki, could be upgraded by a level.

By then there would be quite literally nobody that could stop Augustus.

IM had an ancient weapon, but so what? Augustus felt that he could now go toe to toe with them and win.

After a little convincing, Garp had actually agreed to take over the Marines as the next Marshal as long as the World Government did not essentially own the Marines and could restrict their actions.

All Augustus had to do was promise Garp that.

Augustus knew that Garp didn't have any faith in Augustus's promise but Augustus would Garp wrong very soon.

Augustus also promised him that Garp would be able to carry out real justice.

To Augustus, however, these words meant nothing and were just used to convince Garp.

In the eyes of Augustus, the Marines would simply be changing from one owner to another.

As for the Four Emperors, none of them were strong enough to fight against Godfrey.

As for Blackbeard, Stephen had planted a seal on his heart, and at any moment, on Augustus's command, Stephen would kill Blackbeard.

Now that everything had been set up, it was time to watch the play that Augustus had orchestrated play out, starting from the Marineford battle against Whitebeard.

Or as Augustus called it, The First Domino.
