Chapter 29 - Chapter 27 Missiles

Whitebeard, who proudly stood on the Mast of the Moby dick, gripped onto his tall Nagata and swung it towards the Marineford.

The impact was so powerful the space in front of the Nagata itself cracked.

There followed a silence for a few seconds before the undercurrents of the water disrupted it.

A huge wave erupted from the sea as tall as Marineford itself moving at a pace fast enough to crush anything in its way.

"Ice Age!" A voice resounded as a figure shot from the execution stands.

Kuzan at this time moved as he used his Ice-Ice Fruit powers to freeze the giant waves that Whitebeard created, preventing them from crashing into Marineford and minimizing the damage.

The entire ocean floor being frozen into Ice which created a platform for the war to start.

Whitebeard's commanders and allied pirate crews began to charge toward the Marine forces.

Characters like Marco the Phoenix, Jozu, and Vista lead the initial assaults.

The Marines respond with artillery fire and the deployment of their own elite forces, including the Vice-Admirals and Pacifistas, cyborg warriors created by Dr. Vegapunk.

Marco, Whitebeard's first division commander, clashed with Admiral Kizaru, demonstrating his mythical Zoan Devil Fruit powers, which allowed him to transform into a phoenix and regenerate from attacks.

As their swift battle took in the skies on the ground Jozu, the third division commander used his Diamond-Diamond Fruit powers to withstand attacks and went head-to-head with Aokiji.

The Admirals, although on the same level as Emperors, do not have conquerors haki; the reason they could stand on the same level is due to their fruit abilities.

That is also why A Single Emperor could go toe to toe with a Admiral and defeat them rather easily if a he went all out.

There was a reason Rocks used to be so terrifying; He didn't ever hold back; mixed with the Devil Fruit and Conquerors Haki, all of these factors combined pushed Rocks into a level 9 classification by the system.

The battlefield quickly become chaotic, with explosions, gunfire, and Devil Fruit abilities clashing. Both sides suffering casualties as the battle intensifies, and the chaos of war felt by everyone present and watching the livestream.

At this, Luffy was nowhere to be seen, and that was because of Stephen's careful adjustment of where Luffy would appear after he was sent away by Bartholomew and making sure Luffy didn't receive the News about Ace.

Augustus was worried that what was gonna come next would perhaps awaken the Nika fruit and Augustus didn't wanna run the risk of Luffy ruining what was coming.

At this time Augusture was watching all of this with a smile from the very top of Marineford.

His hand moved as he slowly dialed a number on the den den mushi.

It rang for just a second before it was picked up.

"Launch it" Augustus said to Tony who was inside a control room recently built in Glofield Kingdom.

"Yes, your majesty" Tony's voice came back, followed by the sound of a button click.

Silence followed from the other line for about a minute before the sounds of the rockets taking off sounded.

Hearing that Augustus cut the call and sat there.

He looked at the Schihubaki, marines and pirates fighting with each other and felt like a puppeteer almost.

His eyes glanced at the sky as he sat back and waited.

And as expected, within 10 minutes, these missiles rained down on Marineford.

Explosions going of everywhere, The Admirals were no doubt caught by suprise which alone costed the Marines hundreds of lives.

Kuzan quickly acted as he tried to form an Ice Shield over Marineford to defend against the explosions.

But against the High speed and highly explosive missiles, the cover Kuzan was shredded apart in an instant.

Kizaru quickly moved as he tried to remove the missiles coming at high speeds but no matter how fast he moved it wasn't enough to stop the huge barrage.

Kizaru had never faced such a situation, but he did the best he could launching large scale light beams at the Missiles causing them to explode in the Air but as hard as he tried a lot of Missiles still managed to slip through.

Although it felt long, this barrage of Missiles lasted only for a minute before the entire collection of Missiles within the Glofield kingdom produced within the last 2 weeks was exhausted.

The deafening roar of explosions that had rocked Marineford just moments ago faded into a haunting silence.

Augustus had wanted to let the Marines and the world know of his kingdom's powers, but now the plan had changed when he decided to bring the Marines under his wing.

So he didn't put any emblems of Glofield onto the missiles.

The air, once thick with the sounds of battle, now carried only the faint echos of destruction.

Smoke billowed into the sky, obscuring the sun and casting a gray pallor over the battlefield.

The smell of burning debris and gunpowder filled the air, stinging the eyes and throats of those still standing.

The ground was littered with debris—splintered wood, twisted metal, and the shattered remains of the once-mighty ships.

Holes marked all over the grounds of Marineford as the frozen ocean where the bulk of the battle took place was destroyed.

The bodies of soldiers and pirates alike were strewn across the battlefield, some twisted in unnatural positions, others half-buried beneath the rubble.

Those closest to the explosions bore the brunt of the devastation—their skin scorched, weapons shattered and faces frozen in expressions of shock and pain.

Some had been thrown by the blast, landing far from where they'd stood, their lifeless forms crumpled like discarded dolls.

Others, who had been further from the epicentre of the explosions, fared little better.

Wounds gaped open, blood seeping into the dirt, mixing with the charred remains of their comrades. A few still clung to life, groaning in agony, their breaths ragged and shallow.

Their eyes, wide with fear and desperation, darted around as they searched for help.

Some held their comrade's lifeless bodies with great pain, while some stared at everything with lifeless eyes.

The Proud standing Marine Ford was riddled with holes, looking like an old, worn-down building, bearing only a trace of its former glory.

On the execution stands Ace was gone, Ace had appeared besides Whitebeard who stood there and protected as many of his ships from the explosions.

His Observation Haki sweeping across the field as he saw the heart wrenching scene of his beloved sons.

The face of Augustus appeared in his mind for a second, filling his body with rage, but at this time, a sprout of self-blame also appeared.

He was the one who had agreed to the help Augustus had offered.

And he felt that this was all his fault.

He felt deep inside that he was the one who indirectly killed his own son's

Maybe if he didn't accept Augustus's deal, Whitebeard felt his judgement getting clouded by a terrifying rage the more he thought of Augustus, but he quickly snapped himself out of it.

At this moment the thing of upmost importance was to leave.

On the side of the Marines, Garp faced the injured Akainu, who lay on the ground unconscious with a cold expression on his face.
