Chapter 16 - Love and Teasing

Violet was strolling through the hallway, chatting with her friends, when she spotted Xavier stepping out of his classroom. Her eyes lit up with excitement.

"Xavier!" she called out, rushing over and wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug.

Caught off guard, Xavier turned a shade of pink. "W-What's up, Sis?"

Violet cupped his cheeks playfully. "I'm doing great now that I've seen you!"

Xavier chuckled and greeted the rest of Violet's friends, who often treated him like a little mascot due to his youthful appearance. But when his gaze landed on Princess Jasmine among them, his breath hitched.

"H-Hi there, Princess Jasmine," he stammered, his cheeks heating up even more.

She smiled at him, her voice smooth and warm. "Hello, Xavier. How have you been?"

"I-I'm fine," he replied nervously.

Princess Jasmine reached out, gently patting his head. "That's wonderful to hear."

Violet arched an eyebrow as she watched Xavier's demeanor shift completely. His eyes sparkled as he looked at the princess, and that was all the confirmation she needed. A mischievous smirk tugged at her lips.

"No way… my little brother has a crush on Jasmine?" she thought, amused. "Guess I'll have to see where she stands."

Without warning, Violet grabbed Jasmine's hand. "Sorry, little brother," she said with a knowing grin. "We have somewhere to be."

Xavier blinked in surprise. "Oh… okay. Well, have a great day, big sis!"

Violet flashed him a bright smile as she began walking away, practically dragging Jasmine behind her. "You too, Xavier!"

As Xavier watched them leave, a wide grin lingered on his face. However, someone else had been observing the scene—Jupiter. He had just stepped out of the classroom, arms crossed, smirking like he had just uncovered the biggest secret in the world.

"Well, well… I see you were talking with your little crush, Princess Jasmine," he teased, nudging Xavier with his elbow. "How's she doing?"

Xavier stiffened, his face burning red. "S-Shut up! She's not my crush!"

Jupiter's smirk widened. "Yeah, sure, buddy. Whatever you say."

Before Xavier could protest, Jason's voice rang out from down the hall. "Yo, guys! I've got an hour break. Wanna go explore New York City?"

Xavier and Jupiter exchanged excited glances before responding in unison, "Heck yeah!"

Meanwhile, further down the hallway, Violet and her friends were still deep in conversation. But then, Violet turned to Princess Jasmine, her gaze suddenly serious.

Princess Jasmine blinked. "What's wrong, Violet? Did something happen?"

Violet didn't waste a second. "Do you like my little brother?"

Princess Jasmine's entire face went up in flames. "W-What?! Where did that come from?"

"Just asking to be sure," Violet replied casually.

"To be sure of what?" Jasmine asked, clearly flustered.

"That you're a good fit for him," Violet said bluntly. "Honestly, I wouldn't mind you as my sister-in-law. You'd be perfect for Xavier."

Jasmine's blush deepened. "W-What makes you think we'd be a couple?"

"Because you two just... fit," Violet said with a shrug.

Violet's other friends quickly jumped in, giggling. "Yeah, we see how the atmosphere changes when you two are together."

"Exactly," another one chimed in. "You both get all smiley when you see each other."

"And you're always standing way too close to him," another added.

Jasmine threw her hands up. "How does that make us a couple?! Besides, I'm older than him. And I wouldn't even make a decent girlfriend!"

Violet smirked. "Oh, come on. Don't sell yourself short. You're smart, funny, strong, kindhearted, and loving. And you're even my equal in power."

Jasmine Lee groaned. "Stop pushing your weird ideas on me, Violet."

Violet and her friends burst into laughter. "Alright, alright, sister-in-law, we'll drop it. No need to cry about it."

Jasmine covered her face with her hands, mortified. "Stop calling me that!"
