~~Marvin POV~~
It's been around two weeks since I've been out of the infirmary, and my body is still quite sore from the fight, thankfully the bruises aren't that noticeable anymore and my eye is no longer swollen.
The fight was a lot more severe than I thought, just about everyone who participated in the fight ended up in the hospital, I was one of the lucky ones who only had to stay in the infirmary.
Due to the severity of the fight, many changes have been made around here. For starters, Warden Lohan was placed on paid leave, the Mayor thought, that kids ending up hospitalized due to fighting showed that the warden in charge wasn't good enough. I guess his son also being hospitalized gave him a change of heart.
Plenty of guys have been transferred out of the center, and some have been transferred to adult prisons with increased sentences. Big G, Felton, Carlos, his friends, and Tyler have all been transferred to an adult prison.
Surprisingly a part of me feels sad that Tyler left despite us only knowing each other for two weeks, but I guess spending 336 hours together does that to you.
Now I have a new cellmate, Corvin. He's another white guy like Tyler but he's only two years older than me. Our first meeting was not that pleasant, he tried to assert his "dominance" but that was shut down with a nice beating.
Now we stay in our lanes, he doesn't bother me and I don't talk with him. It may not be the best decision since I will probably be spending the next 60 days with him, but I don't care, as far as I can see, my life couldn't get any worse than it already has.
But Jessica has warned me to remain on my best behavior so she can get me out a bit earlier, she's been talking about this family that she has lined up to be my foster parents. From what she said, they're a decent family with two kids, the man of the house is the head football coach at the school I would be attending and his wife is a talent manager.
Jessica may say they're chill, but you won't truly ever know people until you stay with them for an extended period, that's why I haven't gotten my hopes up about them. For all I know when I arrive, they'll simply just have me be their house help.
"Yo dawg, is it true you beat up Jrod?" A guy ran up to me at the bleachers, 'Who's Jrod?' I asked myself. I looked at the guy with a look of confusion, something he clearly didn't like as he started yelling.
"JROD, MY BROTHER, DID YOU TOUCH UP MY BRO"
'Seriously, I can't have a peaceful day in this place' I was getting frustrated at the constant fights that were coming my way in this place. It was honestly crazy that I had actually been in so many, I always kept to myself and I never purposely tried to anger anyone.
So why was this bum standing in front of me trying to start a fight, "IS YOU MUTE, HUH?" The Bum asked, I now had to make the same decision that I had made plenty of times in this place, 'fight or take the beating'
"HEY, What y'all doing there?" A guard started coming over to us, causing the bum to get scared and walk away. 'Wow a guard stopping a fight, it's a great step up. I'll still have to deal with this later though.' I thought to myself as I relaxed on the bleacher.
The next day, like a programmed robot the bum approached me this time with Corvin coming with him. "You sure this the right dude?" The bum asked Corvin, 'How do they know each other' I thought to myself.
"Yeah Brics, this him Marvin, trust me, he's the one that beat up Jordan" Corvin replied to Brics. It now made sense, 'Brics is Jordan's younger brother. Honestly can't blame him for looking for vengeance' At this point, I was looking for that guard to come back and stop things from escalating.
"Ain't no one gone save you," Brics said before swinging at me, it was a slow punch, easy to avoid, slight head turn to the left, and no harm is done, but that would make Brics even angrier. 'This one's for you Jessica' I mentally sighed as I took the punch from Brics.
Brics didn't stop there, he kept swinging and punching, thankfully a guard noticed before I started bleeding. They quickly took me to the infirmary and Emily made very clear, that my body could and should not take any more major hits. 'Bit of problem with that though, I'm stuck here for another two months' I thought to myself as I listened to Emily.

~~3rd POV~~
The Keppler House was lively today, there was a party going on. Kids ran across the large backyard and jumped into the massive pool, while the adults stood back watching the mini chaos monsters around them.
The owners of the house, Joel and Olivia Keppler were entertaining their guests inside. Joel was serving his famous ribs while Olivia was telling stories about the many talents she managed.
"Liv, you have to tell us which celeb Martin was talking about in his Twitter post?" One of the guests asked Olivia, Olivia only smiled and shook her head "My lips are sealed to secrecy Jolie, sorry" The crowd around Olivia groaned but soon got over it and went to go get some more ribs from Joel.
Jolie stuck around, she was one of the more usual members around the Keppler house, mainly due to her and Olivia being sorority sisters in college. "So you and Joel still going through with the foster care?" Jolie asked with a serious look on her face.
"Yes Jolie, and like said last time we won't be changing our minds," Jolie said with a bit of annoyance in her voice, "Alright I understand that's you guys' decision, that's why I decided to help, I know this guy at Southlake who can get you in contact," Jolie said but she was quickly interrupted by Olivia.
"Oh we already have a kid we'll be taking care of," Olivia said causing a look of shock to appear on Jolie's face, "Where's the kid from? Do you know who his parents were? how old is he?" Jolie fired a barrage of questions at Olivia.
Olivia sighed as she watched her friend go manic over a kid that she didn't even know, "Jolie calm down, we've been talking with his social worker and he seems like a kid who needs the help me and Joel can give. She said, she's trying to appeal to the judges to have him get out early, so we'll be able to meet him in about three weeks."
Jolie's mouth became stuck with an O shape, she didn't say anything after Olivia had finished talking, "Jolie you alright?" Olivia asked her friend.
"Judge....DID YOU SAY JUDGE" Jolie raised her voice, luckily the music drowned it out. "Lower your voice Jolie, and yes I said judge, he's in Juvie right now" At this point it was physically impossible for Jolie's mouth to get any wider.
"Liv you can't be serious, Juvie!? That's dangerous, need I remind you that you have two kids here at home, what if he does something to them" Jolie tried to raise a point of concern to Olivia but was quickly shut down
"First of all Jolie, that's extremely rude of you, you haven't even met the boy for God's sake and you already think he's a danger to society," Olivia said, her face getting red as she talked. Jolie tried to interject but Olivia shut her down again.
"I'm not done, I know I have kids, and I'll make sure they'll always be safe, so don't even go there," Olivia said.
Jolie took a minute before she responded, "Look I know you're gonna keep them safe, but come on, he's in Juvie for a reason. Kids don't just get locked up for no reason" Jolie said, emphasizing the last part of her words.
"Well actually Jolie, they do" A loud gruff voice came from behind Jolie, it was Joel. It seemed most of the adults had gone outside to watch their kids have fun.
"He's had a difficult life and some douchebag children tried to beat him up, but they lost. Turns out one of those kids is the Mayor's son, so he gets put in for that, does that seem fair to you?" Joel explained Marvin's situation to Jolie, this was something that made her think, you wouldn't expect someone to be put in a place like Juvie just because of self-defense.
"Alright putting it like that makes things a bit different, but still" Jolie tried to protest her concerns, "But still nothing, now go join the rest outside" Joel shut her down with a smile and Jolie left the conversation to move outside.
"What if she's right though Joe? What if he's dangerous?" Olivia asked worry was in her voice. "Don't think that way Liv, we want to help this kid and Jessica has already shown us he's not a bad kid" Joel tried to comfort his wife, but Jolie's words were taking root in her mind
"Yeah, but does a good kid kill their father?" Olivia looked up at Joel, "An abusive father Liv, an abusive father that killed his daughter and would've killed him too" Joel hugged his wife as he talked.
