Taehyung had asked Yoongi to stay and monitor Jimin, trusting no one else with the task. Three long days had crawled by, with Jimin spending his time either sleeping or staring at the ceiling. Jin had come by once to remove his stitches and change his bandages.
One morning, Aunt Lily was bringing breakfast to Jimin when she slipped and fell. Her scream echoed through the house, bringing Yoongi running. Aunt Lily was like family to them. They had rescued her when her husband lost her in a gamble to a group of men. Fortunately, they had been there for a meeting and saved her. Taehyung had kept her with him ever since, as her husband refused to take her back. Of course, he served his punishment under Taehyung's watch. Taehyung didn't owe anyone good or bad he always return them ten folds.
Yoongi quickly took Aunt Lily to the hospital.
"Her foot is fractured. She needs to rest for at least a week," the nurse reported after examining her.
"Hmmm," Yoongi nodded. "Take care of her properly," he ordered the nurse.
"Yoongi, I was taking breakfast to the young master," Aunt Lily said, worried.
"Don't worry. I'll take care of it. You just rest well," Yoongi reassured her before leaving.
Yoongi took breakfast for Jimin. At the sound of the door opening, Jimin looked up. Entering Jimin's room, Yoongi startled him. Seeing a stranger, Jimin's eyes widened with surprise and fear, remembering Taehyung's warnings. He hadn't eaten properly the previous night.
"Where is Aunt Lily?" Jimin asked, his voice trembling.
"She is not feeling well," Yoongi replied coldly. His demeanor intensified Jimin's fear. Jimin bolted from the bed and ran toward the open door.
Surprised, Yoongi put the tray down and chased after him. "Hey, where are you going?" he called out.
Jimin ran to the library door and tried to open it, but it was locked. He knocked frantically, tears streaming down his face. "Aunt! Aunt!" he cried, knocking continuously.
Yoongi caught up and grabbed his hands. "Stop it," he said firmly. Jimin's hands were red from the pounding.
"Please, let her go. I will eat properly. It wasn't her mistake," Jimin cried, shivering with fear. "Tell him I'll do whatever he wants, just let her go," he begged, his breath hitching. "Let me talk to him, just once. Tell him, please."
"Calm down. She is alright. Nothing happened to her," Yoongi said, trying his best to soothe him.
Jimin looked at him with distrust. "I'll take you to see her. Calm down first," Yoongi said gently. "Take a deep breath." Jimin did as told.
"Good. Now eat something, and I'll take you to see her," Yoongi assured him.
"Really?" Jimin asked, looking like an innocent child.
"Yes," Yoongi smiled.
He led Jimin back to his room. "Come, sit here," Yoongi said, pointing at the bed. Jimin slowly sat down, and Yoongi handed him the tray.
"Eat if you want to see Aunt Lily. The faster you finish, the sooner you'll see her," he said.
Jimin started eating so quickly that his mouth was filled with food and he kept adding more.
"Oh, oh, slow down. Don't choke," Yoongi said, a smile forming on his lips.
He observed Jimin, who looked so innocent and sweet, but a little sick. His skin was pale, and dark circles surrounded his eyes. After finishing his food, Jimin looked at Yoongi.
"I've finished," he said softly.
"Okay, take your medicine," Yoongi handed him the medicine. After taking it, Jimin looked at Yoongi in anticipation.
"Okay, let's go," Yoongi said. Jimin's eyes shone with happiness as Yoongi took him to see Aunt Lily.
As soon as they descended the stairs, Jimin ran toward her. "Aunt, are you okay?" he asked, worry etched on his face.
Aunt Lily was surprised to see him so concerned. "I am fine. I just fell down the stairs," she said.
"Did he do this to you?" Jimin asked, afraid.
"Who?" Aunt Lily asked, confused. Realizing what he meant, she shook her head. "No, no, it's not that," she smiled.
Jimin sighed in relief. Yoongi watched them from the side as Jimin checked on her repeatedly, worried.
"I am alright, young master," Aunt Lily assured him.
"Now that you've seen her, let's go back," Yoongi said.
Jimin looked at Aunt Lily. "Take care," he said and left.
When they reached the living room, Jimin stopped. Yoongi looked at him questioning.
"Can I ask you for something?" Jimin asked hesitantly.
"Yes," Yoongi said.
"Can I go to the garden just for a while?" Jimin asked, looking like a child asking for a toy.
Unable to say no, Yoongi agreed and took him to the garden. Walking in the garden, Jimin felt alive again. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his senses filled with the fragrance of flowers and fresh air. A smile formed on his lips as he walked slowly, watching the trees dance with the breeze and the fully blossomed flowers swaying. Birds chirped and played around.
Yoongi watched him from a distance. Jimin seemed like a person emerging from a long imprisonment.
After standing there for a while, Jimin approached Yoongi. "Let's go back," he said, his mood visibly improved.
"Hmmm," Yoongi nodded, walking in front of him.
After they returned to the room, Jimin looked at Yoongi and smiled. "Thank you," he said.
"It's okay," Yoongi smiled back.
Jimin gazed at the warm and kind person before him. After long days of torture, Yoongi had made his day beautiful. He felt thankful.
Unaware of the fact, someone was watching them from a distance, furious at seeing Jimin smile at someone else.
