Henry held my hand as we walked out of his mother's room. She cried and begged him not to leave, but he didn't listen.
He kept holding my hand until we reached his room. Once we were there, he told me to make myself comfortable.
"I don't want to be alone tonight. Can you please stay with me?" He tilted his head to meet my gaze. I bit my lip as our eyes locked.
"Were you serious back there?" I leaned in closer to him.
"Yes, I meant every word. I don't understand why my mom can't accept you. She used to be so fond of you, what changed?" I took a deep breath, wondering if now was the right time to say anything negative about his mother. It could push him away.
