Lisa dished out all the food herself, without any help from the maids. Jeff couldn't stop smiling and gushing over her as if she had performed a grand feat.
"Why did you do everything yourself? You could have asked Andrea to assist you in the kitchen," Mrs. Dragon said, shooting me a glance before quickly looking away.
Lisa smiled warmly at her. "Oh, there was no need for that. I love cooking a lot, but I stopped as soon as I married into this family. I knew Jeff wouldn't like me cooking for the whole family, but I think I want to start again. I hope the chef won't take offense."
My jaw dropped when I heard Lisa say that.
She's such a liar. Lisa, cooking? Absolutely not. She can't even cook to save her life. Is this the real reason Mrs. Dragon requested Henry and me to be here? To watch her shower praises on Lisa? So that she comes off as the good daughter-in-law while I look like the bad one?
