As the participants walked into the cave together, they soon entered a large open space. Once all people were inside, a large amount of blue lines suddenly started glowing below them.
‚An array formation.' Kael recognized what was below him since he had once seen something similar in the memories he obtained when he transmigrated.
„You are now in a formation that forces you to answer all my questions truthfully." Elder Beatrice suddenly called out.
Kael felt somewhat betrayed by the sect since he was seemingly forced into this situation.
They could theoretically force him to reveal all his secrets if they asked the right questions now. But they had no reason to even suspect he had anything special about him so his worries were probably unfounded.
„Who of the people gathered here would betray the human race and even deal harm to it on purpose, if they gained more benefits through that action?" The elder stated her first question.
Suprisingly a huge amount of hands went up instantly. There were about 5000 people who would harm the entire planet for their own benefit. Those people were instantly evicted from the trial and even marked. If they ever entered into the battlefield in outer space in the future they would be monitored closely.
Kael didn't raise his hand. Even though he wouldn't have any problem to sever the contact with this planet and work together with another, he probably wouldn't harm it intentionally.
After all he was confident in his own abilities. No alien race could give him benefits that would motivate him to harm the entire planet.
As the elder was about to ask the next question, it was apparent that she only held disgust towards the people who raised their hands earlier.
„Who of the people present here view people without cultivation talent or with lower cultivation talent as beneath them?" Almost 50000 people raised their hands this time.
Kael did expect this number. Having power can twist the mind of an individual. Even in his past life people who only had money and not even real strength were already extremely arrogant. You could imagine what real power could do to the mind of an individual.
‚I guess this test is the reason why the Saciour sect is renowned for having the least amount of arrogant disciples and elders.'
Just as the people that raised their hand were about to be escorted out of the cave, a few people suddenly cried out.
„This is not fair. We all have extremely high talent. How do we fail the test just because we view some untalented people as lower class? It's just the natural order!" Those words made the elder look at the youth who said these words with scorn.
„Someone like you will never reach far in the journey of cultivation. Instead of striving for the top, you will rest on your power and simply curse the heavens because some people are more talented than you. With such a mindset you will never even reach your limits."
Those were the last words of advice that elder Beatrice gave to all the 50.000 people before they were kicked out.
„Let me ask you the final question now."
„Who of the people gathered here would lay down their life for the advancement of the human race?" This time only half of the people present raised their hand.
Alex and Kael were amongst those who did not raise their hands so they looked at each other with worry. Would this be the end of their examination?
Unlike before they were not escorted out of the room even after a few seconds passed.
Just as confusion began to build inside the heads of everyone present.
„Obviously we won't kick you out this time. No one can force you to give your life for your race. We understand that everybody has their own goals and aspirations that may not allow them to die before reaching them."
„The sect only hopes that all of you will give your best on the battlefield and outside of it. All of you who made it this far have automatically passed."
With these words all the people were led outside the cave again. Kael was granted the status of a core disciple. With its help he gained many resources and cultivated to the sea expansion realm within just 5 years.
Afterwards he headed to the battlefield in outer space where he fought against the forces that wanted to invade Green Star.
On the battlefield he won all the battles he participated in and fought side by side with Karl. This way he looted and gained more fighting experience.
He was always able to fight a whole major realm above his own. He continued living this way until he eventually reached his limit.
He was now the supreme Elder of the Saviour Sect and reached the elusive Ruler Realm. As one of the most respected beings inside the Human Government he got a lot of honour and resources.
But for some reason he couldn't advance, no matter how hard he tried. This confused him as he knew that his comprehension was supposed to be many grades higher than the realm he reached.
After being unable to advance like this for a thousand years, Kael one day met a demon on the battlefield.
Demons were a high level race that controlled a major part of the universe and seemed to sow chaos and disorder.
The demon promised Kael to help him break through his bottleneck if he helped them with a sneak attack. In this attack they would kill the other Ruler-level powerhouses of the humans race and could therefore invade Green Star afterwards.
But Kael persisted in believing in his comprehension talent, instead seeking another method to break through his realm.
Just as he neared his deathbed the demon once again sought him out. He presented him the same deal again, but Kael persisted. Even though he wouldn't give his life for a planet he wasn't born on, over the years the inhabitants grew somewhat closer to his heart.
The main reason for refusing the deal though was that Kael had the feeling that something was wrong. With his talent he should even be able to easily break through realms that were way higher than the one he was currently in. That's why he assumed that he was cursed and wouldn't be able to advance further in the future, even with the demons help.
Just after he refused the deal for the second time, Kael suddenly woke up in the cave where he held the third trial for the entrance examination years ago.
He suddenly felt like the last thousands of years of his life were just a dream and he even forgot most parts about them. He only remembered the outline of the most important events.
Just as he searched for a solution the elders voice once again sounded throughout the cave.
„Congratulations for passing the last trial. Everything you just saw was an illusion to test if your mindset would change if you have lived for a long time and gotten stronger. All of you that are still present can proudly say that they wouldn't betray our planet in the face of benefits."
As Kael looked around, he noticed that only about a third of the initial 250000 participants remained. The largest part of them was disqualified inside the illusion of the third trial.
Luckily Alexandra and Alex were still present and also passed the trial. They were smiling wide and were congratulating Kael for passing the trial as well.
Kael on the other hand was somewhat conflicted. As his soul was originally from another planet, he wasn't sure if he would have taken the demons deal in real life.
The main reason for his refusal that he felt something was wrong. His talents only had about the effect of S grade which was because the array created the illusion around these stats.
Since he showed them his S grade talent, his cultivation speed inside the illusion was comparable to S grade as well.
Kael didn't really mind though. The most important thing at the moment was that he passed the trial and successfully joined the sect. He could deal with his attitude towards the world later on.
„All of you that have passed, please open the Faction function inside the system." The elders voice suddenly diverted Kael's thoughts back to the cave.
‚System, open the Faction Screen!'
