Samantha floated above the chaos, her mind reeling as she tried to comprehend what was happening. The sight of her own body lying broken and still on the ground below was surreal, almost laughable in its impossibility.
Yet here she was, somehow separate from her physical form, watching the scene unfold like a bizarre spectator.
"This can't be real," she thought, her non-existent heart racing with confusion and fear. "Vampires don't have souls. We're already dead. This isn't possible."
But as she looked down at her hands, translucent and glowing with a faint ethereal light, she couldn't deny the reality of her situation.
She was... something.
A ghost? A spirit? Whatever she was, she certainly wasn't in her body anymore.
