Samantha's thoughts were a chaotic whirlwind as Elena's words pierced through her mind, causing her breath to catch in her throat. She turned to Marcus, her voice hushed with urgency, "What exactly does she want?"
Marcus barely moved his lips, his eyes darting to Elena. "Exactly what she said."
Anger exploded in Samantha's chest. "We're not her toys!" she hissed, her voice getting louder. "She can't just use us like we're nothing!"
Her words hung in the air like a challenge, daring Elena to fight back.
