- I said no! - Eduard shouted angrily at his sister.
- I said I'm going and that's that! - Barbara replied in an even louder tone than Eduard.
- I forbid you!
- And who gave you the right to do that? - Barbara shouted in exasperation as she looked into her brother's eyes, which showed only concern rather than anger, which was strange given the shouting.
Eduard didn't answer since in the end no one gave him that right and he knew he couldn't control his sister's life, even so, her wanting to be a hero out of the blue caught him completely off guard, especially considering that she just wanted to be trained and go out fighting without any security except a leather outfit.
- Why Barbara? Why the hell do you want to be a shit heroine? - Eduard asked in a defeated tone as he looked at his sister with a pleading look.
- I don't want to be a hero... I just want to stop some petty crime and practice... - After seeing the look on Eduard's face, Barbara didn't maintain her earlier anger and spoke in a relatively calmer tone than before.
- That's being a hero Barbara...
- ...
- Sigh... - Eduard could only stare at the window with a little regret before he began to think of various means to help her with her "little" enterprise as she called it at the beginning of this irritating conversation.
Eduard didn't know how to proceed at the moment, the only thing he was absolutely sure of was that his sister was too young for this nonsense and also that he wouldn't let her do it before he managed to turn her into a superhuman figure, and not just something on the level of Captain America, no. He would even make sure to deliver a complete package of ultra-resistence, strength and speed at the very least, he would be sure to deliver a complete package of ultra-strength, strength and speed at the very least, he even decided that once he had improved her genetically they could both seek out Marvel's bald guru to learn magic in Kamar-Taj, and even if it didn't help with her main magic it still wouldn't be bad to learn right? Eduard kept thinking of various scenarios in his mind and plans to help his sister, he even considered speeding up the research on the strands of hair he stole from Steve, but decided that before speeding up something as sensitive as a genetic study he should just focus on the "trip" he was planning and maybe it would be better to take her with him just to make sure she wouldn't just try to go out in some crappy Spandex to stop some random shooting.
- If you want to play the hero, we need rules! First, you can forget about being a hero now, you haven't even finished growing up yet!
- ... - Barbara glared at her brother after hearing this, but still nodded. Even though she wanted to help, she knew that her body was simply too weak for it at the moment and her main aim in talking to her brother about it so soon was just to get him to put it off and train her during this time, after all, she was sure that if she just asked to be trained by him there would be dozens of excuses postponing her training, but if she asked to go fight crime he would just train her and try to postpone it with the excuse that she wasn't ready yet, which in her opinion was already a breakthrough. - And when can I go then D-A-D? When do you think I'll have "grown up"?
- ! - A vein appeared on Eduard's forehead as he continued to stare at his sister who was looking at him with annoyance; Forcing himself to calm down, he began to think about how to deal with his sister, who looked at him as if he had stolen something from her. He felt nothing but annoyance and exasperation, but he put that aside and just thought about how to entertain his sister and convince her to wait until her body had finished developing, and soon an idea came to mind, an idea that would really create a monstrous future heroine, but at the same time would make Barbara regret that decision given how ruthless her brother would be in his training.
- All right... - Eduard raised his hands and made a defeated expression before looking helplessly at his sister. - You can wear some damn Spandex and go out and beat up some poor sods, BUT only after I've finished training you and got you some special skills too, there's no way I'm letting you go and fight armed people after you've learned how to punch properly! - Eduard exclaimed and made his position clear.
- That's ridiculous! - Was Barbara upset? Not in the slightest, since even if she thought it was an exaggeration that she couldn't even take care of some gangsters as "training" she was still more than willing to get some "cheating" in before becoming a hero like her brother, and that's thanks to the influence of people like Captain America or Wonder Woman she'd recently researched, even some of the mutants she'd seen using their abilities to save the day; compared to the hero she had previously been a fan of, Batman, she preferred to look more like her brother, and this is also influenced not only by having a brother who is also a superhero and actually has powers, but by being away from Gotham and not feeling the impact of Batman's own actions.
- Ridiculous? - Eduard stared exasperatedly at his sister for several seconds before ignoring all the scolding that was on the tip of his tongue. - Ridiculous or not, that's the ultimatum, this isn't a discussion, young lady!
- Humpf! You idiot.
- Sigh... - Eduard just sighed and decided to put it aside knowing that his sister had accepted, of course, he didn't know that his sister was just annoying him in the end since he avoided using most of his powers at home actively asking Cortana to use them to keep alert while he relaxed, so even if Cortana who was filtering the information for him had noticed he had no idea.
- Let's go!
- Hu?
Eduard, who had turned around, realized that due to his irritation he hadn't even explained to his sister and just turned around and waited for her to follow him. - Let's go to Kara's house, I need to tell you something and I'd better explain it to her too.
- Kara? - All that could be seen on Barbara's face at the moment was pure confusion. - Wait a moment... Wait a minute, Ed! I'm glad you're getting on well, I like Kara too and all, but isn't telling her about you after such a short time dangerous? - Barbara asked as she looked worriedly at her brother.
Eduard looked at his sister with a frown for a moment, he understood what she was saying very well and knew that she was right in her concerns, but that was no reason to think that he would say that to anyone he knew, right? After all, his sister found out and apart from her and Kara no one else knows about his identity. - Is your trust in me that small?
- ...
- ! - A vein was visible on Eduard's forehead as he clenched his jaw tightly. - Do you think that just because she's my girlfriend I'd do something like that?
- ...
Barbara decided to remain silent since she really believed that her brother was stupid enough to do things like that, after all, she herself had always "manipulated" him to get what she wanted and it had never failed, so she didn't think it would be difficult for Kara who was really a stunning girl to do the same thing as her should be simple for her. Luckily for Barbara Eduard didn't have a magic teacher and wasn't very interested in reading other people's thoughts so he had no idea that his sister was labeling him as a simpleton, or he could have thrown her on the nearest beach and made her walk back with the excuse that it was training for his spandex.
Looking at the silent and anxious Barbara Eduard just sighed and ignored her anger before grabbing her hand and pulling her slightly. - I'm tired of this nonsense, when we get to her apartment, I'll explain everything!
- ...Of course...
- So, let me see if I understand... - Barbara looked stunned and pointed at her brother. - You're half alien?
- Yes...
- And her too? - With a still dazed look, she pointed at Kara.
- That's right... - Kara nodded in response.
- ... - Barbara was silent as she processed everything her brother had just explained to her; Eduard had told her everything, from the moment Kara arrived on earth, how he had saved her and helped her and her cousin settle down, to the moment he and Kara had started sleeping together in the sun.
- ...Right... - Barbara replied still in shock, not knowing how she should behave in this situation. After all, no one should be prepared to receive the news that her brother and his girlfriend are aliens who sleep in the sun, right? It took Barbara more than a full minute to only partially recover. - Ignoring the whole story about Krypton... Are you a wizard too?
- I have the blood of a wizard and I've turned to learning a few tricks, but I don't have a teacher yet... That's something I intend to sort out for the three of us in the future, of course! - Eduard exclaimed naturally, as if what he had just said was no big deal.
- ...Right... Magic lessons... - Barbara commented even more astonished now, of course, she wouldn't complain about taking magic lessons at all, she was even a fan of Harry Potter that her brother had released so she would be more than happy to learn magic and become a witch, but it was one thing for her to say that she would love to learn magic, it was another thing for her half-alien, half-wizard brother to say that they would learn it after telling her that he wasn't completely human, no, he obviously wasn't human right? Not that she really cares, but it's still just too shocking for the poor girl to receive all this information out of the blue, and the worst thing wasn't even that these things were unbelievable, but understandable if you tried really hard and ignored a lot of logical actions, now, when her brother told her that Cortana who was supposed to be a cutting-edge artificial intelligence had a consciousness of her own and could be considered an individual living inside him and would allow him to travel to other universes she was simply dumbfounded without understanding anything at all.
- I need some time...
- Really? After all this you're going to pick on Cortana? - Eduard smiled and teased his sister.
- Fuck you, Ed! - Barbara complained before picking up the glass of water Kara had brought her earlier. - This whole thing is ridiculous! It's just crazy fiction, but I still managed to swallow it and understand it to a certain extent, but now you telling me that there's a being who can hack the world at will and visit other worlds lives in you? I'm sorry I couldn't understand that right away!
Watching Barbara's outburst Kara nodded with a smile as she remembered her own reaction to Cortana, let's just say it was that day that she learned that her emotions could greatly impact her control over herself and unintentionally burned Eduard's shirt with her heat vision.
- ...Fair enough. - Eduard nodded and went into the kitchen to get something to eat while his sister was lost in thought.
Several minutes passed and Eduard simply continued eating while he watched his sister muttering to herself. At first, he thought it was hilarious, but as time went by, boredom and worry made his amusement at his sister's reaction gradually disappear.
- Are you all right? - after more than ten minutes Eduard decided to come closer and put his hand on his sister's shoulder.
- ... - Barbara paused in her monologue and looked at her brother, and when she saw his eyes expressing nothing but concern she just sighed and decided to sort out her thoughts slowly and just concentrate on the main things at the moment. - Honestly? I don't know Ed... I'm definitely still not okay with all this, but I think I can gradually get used to it... - Barbara paused and then looked into her brother's eyes with determination. - But for now, let's put the "little" things aside and focus on the absurd! - After exclaiming Barbara stood up and placing both hands on her waist she looked solemnly at her brother. - "Are you really planning to go to another world during the vacations?
- Yes!" Eduard nodded without any joking in his tone or expression, considering his sister's current confusion.
- And you're taking both Kara and me?
- Uh-huh. - Eduard nodded again.
- ... - Barbar was silent for a few seconds before asking. - Do you really think that's a good idea? - After asking, he decided not to wait for his brother's answer before focusing on Kara and continuing. - I understand you wanting to take Kara with you, and I even support you given the skills you both have, but... Isn't it a bit dangerous for me?
- No, not at all! - Eduard replied nonchalantly. - There's really no such thing as being forced to stay in the other world or a mission, I just need to go once to create a kind of connection with the world and then I can move freely between various worlds in the future. - Seeing his sister's surprised expression, he continued. - So, I'll just go first and after making sure we don't get into an apocalypse I'll come and get you two, what do you think?
(A/N: This week I wasn't able to write the extra chapter for some personal reasons, but at least I think I have some good news, I decided to write another story and this time with the dynamics of a system, I want to learn how to work with it for a part of my own story so I chose to write a unique gacha system and I intend to publish it in two weeks, and since it should be easier since I chose only anime that I know at first at least I don't think I'll have problems writing unlike DC and Marvel which I need to read a lot on a weekly basis to avoid messing up...) Anyway, I'm not going to cut back on the releases of this story or anything, this week was just a fluke and not the norm! So that's what I wanted to say, I hope you enjoy the chapter and have a good weekend).
(A/N: For now there are 4 extra chapters on patreon, I will try to increase this weekly; I will also be publishing another story in the next few weeks in advance)
