I woke up in a panic to a screeching alarm that sounded like a fire alarm. I swiftly leaped out of my bed and bolted out of my room to investigate the noise. I jumped down the wooden stairs and continued to follow the noise. The sound seemed to be coming from the kitchen. When I made it to the kitchen, I saw something I would have never in my whole lifetime expected to see. It was my twin brother with around 30 rusty nails pinning him to the wall. One of his eyes had a nail in it, the other had been forcefully ripped out. He had blood dripping down his face. He looked like he was crying blood. I started to run. I don't know where. I just needed to leave right then and there. I could not stay. I ripped off my slippers and grabbed my sneakers and my parent's car keys and ran out the front door. I started the car and sped down the block until I made it to a place far enough from my house, I put my sneakers on. Then re-started the car's engine and sped to the nearest police station. I barely knew how to drive. I crashed into at least five other cars. I was only thirteen. I suddenly started to feel tears dripping down my face. I felt nauseous thinking about the pain my brother went through. Then the guilt hit me. I had just left my parents behind. If they were alive then they probably would have been dead already. I slammed the brakes, shoved the door open and vomited. I stepped out of the car for a second. I just stood there weeping. As I walked forward, I saw the cars driving past and honking at me. But I still kept walking. I couldn't stop there. I had to do something. My brother had died. I needed to keep going forward and get back in the car. But I just walked forward. Then I snapped back to reality. I looked to my left to turn around and then I felt a sharp pain in my back. Then I lost consciousness.
When I woke up my head felt unusually warm. I had no idea about anything. Then I started to hear things. I heard people yelling. I couldn't understand anything. I opened my eyes. I saw all red and I started to blink rapidly. When I was able to see again everything was still a bit fuzzy. I tried to at least prop myself up. But then my head and back started throbbing with unbearable pain. I heard footsteps. They seemed to be coming toward me. Then everything went blank.
The next time I woke up I heard unpleasant beeping. Then a wave of nausea hit me. I went to sit up to puke, but my head hurt so much I couldn't sit up at all. I started crying. I don't know why. I looked at my right arm. There were a bunch of machines hooked to me. I tried to figure out what had happened and where I was. Another wave of nausea hit me, this time I was able to hang my head over the edge of the bed I was laying on and puke. I started to swing my legs over the side of the bed. When a nurse came in and swiftly put a shot in my arm. Within a couple seconds I lost consciousness again…
