Kaijin stood over Vox's motionless body, staring at the lifeless cyborg with an unsettling mix of curiosity and thought. "I wonder if he had a past life where he was human," Kaijin pondered, his brow furrowing. The idea of what Vox had once been intrigued him. Was there any semblance of humanity left inside that metal shell, or had everything that made him human been completely stripped away?
In the midst of his musings, a small beep interrupted him as his communication device suddenly connected to another line. Kaijin blinked, snapping out of his thoughts as he adjusted the device.
"Hello?" he said, a bit confused by the unexpected connection.
"Senior Kaijin, help me, please," a trembling voice called out on the other end.
Kaijin's heart skipped a beat. He knew that voice well. "Kiru? Where are you? We've been—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a cold, unfamiliar voice cut him off.
"Oh good, it's you."
