Huntress's POV
"Didn't you hear something?" says a man dressed in white with a mask.
"Nah, I think you drank too much last night, haha," replies another man dressed similarly.
"You're right, but it was Steve who was buying, so who am I to refuse a drink?" retorts the first guard before laughing at his own little joke.
I listened to their conversation before silently passing between the two guards thanks to an invisibility glyph. I was currently on a mission entrusted by Leylin, or should I say "master" for now.
As a life form created using palistrom, I can sense the compatibility between a person's ideas and desires with mine.
Unfortunately, my creator isn't really someone who shares the same worldview as me. He seems more compatible with Beast, but I'm not sure.
Beast has never really wanted to address the subject of compatibility with me. I sometimes wonder if we're even of the same "race".
I continued to delve deeper into the castle of the man considered the most powerful magic user in the Boiling Isles, while thinking about useless things.
I had at my disposal several glyphs and certain combinations given by master himself, as well as a black mask. I even dyed my hair black to match the stealthy clothes.
"I don't understand why he gave me this huge scroll containing this enormous combination of glyphs," I muttered, frowning.
I may be young, but I don't think I'll get caught here. So the teleportation scroll is an exaggeration in my opinion.
As I was thinking about various things, I finally arrived at one of the locations indicated by master.
"It seems master isn't the only one experimenting on creatures from the Boiling Isles," I said, disgusted by the scene before me. I've never understood this kind of act.
Master is very strong for his age, but he engages in strange experiments. Oddly enough, another witch considered powerful does the same.
There were countless cages and creatures in strange tubes. The detention conditions of these creatures are scandalous, but if I get caught, I risk joining them. So I must unfortunately abandon them.
A few minutes later, I was able to find the books that record information related to the experiments.
I don't know why master is interested in this, but I wouldn't like to see such a vast and disgusting laboratory next to the Blight house.
After obtaining the books, I searched for the room containing Belos's relics to take them with me.
"So this is what master wants," I said, looking at the trinkets placed on pedestals.
I drew a circle to use Oracle magic to attract the objects to my special bag.
"Mission accomplished," I declared with a smile.
"Do you really think so?" a voice resonated in my head.
"Shit, I've been spotted," I said, watching the doors close around me.
I hate it when master is right. I immediately unrolled my scroll to activate the combination of glyphs.
"Goodbye Belos, and next time, you'll be the one running," I said through gritted teeth as I was engulfed by the light.
...
Leylin's POV
"Given the huge light that was seen towards the emperor's coven castle, I assume you were spotted," I said while reading a music book.
To improve my bard magic, I had no choice but to learn music from A to Z.
"Sorry, master," she said, bowing to me.
"It's not a big deal. Belos has several enemies and you're wearing a mask right now," I said simply, getting up from my chair to approach the bag she had placed on the ground.
It's a bag made with a special fabric that can store a huge number of objects. It's the same fabric used by Eda to store her entire little shop.
"I see you haven't been slacking," I said, using abomination magic to change the color of the witch's hat that can supposedly heal anything and also the appearance of other objects.
I wanted to study these objects and if possible improve them. The other reason is that I needed the "Green Thumb Gauntlet" to create plants with effects similar to the world of Magus.
I know it's not a miraculous object, since Belos wouldn't be short of palistrom wood otherwise, but I think amplifying its power with titan blood will remedy this problem.
"Where's Beast?" Huntress asks, looking around.
She's already familiar with the sight of Beast next to me. It must be said that he spends his time being frozen like a statue or following me if I'm outside.
He seems to have no other interest besides improving his combat abilities and confronting Willow. Unfortunately for him, he has no victories against us to his credit.
"I sent him to the Looking Glass Ruins," I said, taking a Belos relic resembling a musical instrument that reminds me of memories from long ago.
I had no idea of the exact location of Looking Glass Ruins. It wasn't mentioned in the original story, except that it was located somewhere west of the Boiling Isles.
In short, Beast is going to make a long journey since he doesn't have a map like Gus.
"You coming with me? I'm taking a break today," I said, heading outside.
I could see that my words shocked her. I understand her.
During the little time we've spent together, she hasn't seen me leave this place, and if I did, it was for family meals or physical training or to practice my magic.
"You think I'm a monster, huh? Know that I take a break every weekend," I said proudly before realizing I was becoming like Alador.
"If you take a break on weekends, then it's fine," she said, following me.
In truth, I don't really have a choice. I can't currently move forward in my research on the modified astral door, and the reason is the lack of material similar to those from the world of Magus.
I already have the substantial energy source, but I need a mineral that's a good enough conductor to support the energy charge during activation.
So Beast's mission is really important and I know he won't disappoint me. I even took the time to warn him about the prankster guardian.
"Here will be perfect," I said, lying on the ground with the musical instrument stolen by Huntress.
It was a relic capable of amplifying the effects of bard magic, a simple but practical ability.
"Do you know how to play it?" Huntress asks, sitting not far away.
"Nope, it's the first time," I said honestly.
Seeing the dumbfounded expression on her face is really funny, but it's true.
I only know the theory of using the lyre and I know a few songs that I can perform. I think with my perfect memory and agile fingers, it won't be too difficult.
At first, I didn't infuse magic into my music and, as expected, the sound is bad due to my fingers' inexperience, but it was short-lived.
Every mistake made was memorized by me to never make it again. So, slowly but surely, I started to play well.
During my long interpretation of the music of the Silver Knight of Orpheus from Saint Seiya, I began to inject my bard magic into it, but also involuntarily my sadness linked to my past.
My sister's tears falling on my face, my sadness and helplessness, I injected everything into it and, surprisingly, Oracle magic automatically reacted to my emotions.
I was like in a trance during my session and the words came out of my mouth by themselves.
"O lyre, let the birds in the sky rest, let tormented souls finally find peace. Sleep peacefully in the sweetness of this melody. " I said, striking the strings one last time.
There was no more sound around me apart from my panting. It was as if time itself had stopped.
"Damn, what did I do," I said, getting up with difficulty.
My action had exhausted me. It seems that this relic and my bard and oracle magic are a deadly combination with frightening synergy.
"Magnificent, it was divine," a voice resonates from under a nearby tree.
"Who are you?" I said, frowning.
Huntress is currently asleep because of my magic and I can see that it's the same for the animals around us, but this person is perfectly conscious.
He is far from ordinary.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Raine Whispers and I'm a high-ranking member of the bard coven," he said, coming out of the shadow of the trees.
I had before me, a future coven head.
