Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Willow's Point of View and Meeting the Real Leylin Farlier

Willow's POV

It's been a few months since I've been living with the Blights, and surprisingly, life hasn't changed much except for my parents' absence until the weekend and my prohibition from approaching Amity.

At first, I didn't understand why I couldn't do it when I work at her house as a servant.

So Leylin had to explain to me that servants weren't allowed to be familiar with their masters, but also that I could talk to Amity when I was strong enough.

I don't understand why I need to be stronger to talk to my friend.

"If you want to know the whole truth, then be stronger before Hexside Academy. I promise to tell you the whole truth."

Those were Leylin's words before patting my head.

At first, I didn't like him patting my head, but now I'm used to it.

Apart from my situation with the Blight family, I started helping Leylin as best I could.

He had said we would revolutionize magic together, and I want to contribute too.

For now, I just observe without doing anything except cleaning his workshop and waking him up early in the morning so he can start his day.

The main reason for this situation is due to Leylin's particular abominations; they're just too practical.

They're dressed in knight armor and are surprisingly efficient without being clumsy like ordinary abominations.

Leylin explained to me that he was able to create them by combining oracle magic and abomination magic.

This allowed Leylin to transmit certain knowledge to these abominations through crystal balls that the armors carry in a protected pocket at chest level.

It's incredible, but it prevents me from being useful to Leylin in revolutionizing magic.

"Willow, sorry to pull you out of your thoughts, but I have an important task for you," Leylin declares with a serious expression.

"Yes, go ahead, I'm listening," I say, being attentive.

"I'm going to the library soon in secret. Make sure no one discovers my absence," he declares in a serious tone.

It's rare to see Leylin with such an expression; usually, it's when I ask a question I shouldn't.

"Go without worry, Leylin. I'll watch over this place," I say with assurance.

After these words, Leylin left without turning back.

Leylin's POV

"It's tonight, huh," I say, looking at an astrology book.

Tonight,The Wailing star will pass over the boiling isles.

"I don't understand why witches and demons don't understand how incredible this is," I mutter while wearing clothes suitable for combat.

After this star or creature has passed, strange magical phenomena occur temporarily, and one of them is my goal tonight.

"Willow, sorry to pull you out of your thoughts, but I have an important task for you," I say in a slightly apologetic but serious tone.

"Yes, go ahead, I'm listening," she responds quickly.

It seems she's ready to prove herself; I must have unintentionally neglected her recently.

It must be said that she's not very useful as she is currently; I should train her more often.

"I'm going to the library soon in secret. Make sure no one discovers my absence," I explain calmly. I didn't inform her that I would take a tour of the night market before going to the library.

The reason is that I need a special magic scroll to enter without triggering the library's security.

"Go without worry, Leylin. I'll watch over this place," she expresses, trying to be as confident as possible.

I nodded, smiling at her before leaving quickly.

...

It was easy to obtain the special scroll to bypass the security at the library door, and I also had an important element for my plan with me.

"Let's see if it's really the right period," I say, entering the library after using the scroll obtained at the night market.

It cost me dearly; I'm sure the merchant ripped me off, but I prefer to lose more money than to waste time on an additional night adventure.

"Yes, there it is," I say excitedly, watching the star or creature in the form of a web pass through the nocturnal sky, weeping.

I started observing my surroundings; for a few moments, there was nothing, but it was temporary as the books began to glow.

"Now, what would happen if I opened the novel 'Warlock of the Magus World' at this moment?" I say, smiling widely.

I didn't wait long to open the novel, but just as a precaution, I opened the novel to a chapter from the beginning, specifically the 4th.

I wanted to deal with a weak Leylin Farlier, full of questions but also fear. If I opened the novel towards the end, I risked dying just because of his presence.

"Devil, where am I now?" mutters a young teenager of about 13 years old. He observes around him with curiosity but also wariness.

"Fang Ming or Leylin Farlier, which name do you prefer?" I say, looking at him.

After pronouncing my words, I felt fluctuations pass through me.

I could tell it wasn't magical energy but something linked to the spiritual. I practice Oracle magic, so I'm extremely sensitive to spiritual or psychic things.

"You really dared?" I say, frowning before using telekinesis to bring him closer to me while immobilizing him.

"Who are you and how do you know me?" he finally asks.

He couldn't really resist me; the current Leylin hasn't yet evolved in the arts related to knighthood and hasn't started his path in magic.

"My name is Leylin... Leylin Blight, and I have a lot to tell you, but I don't have time," I say, putting an improved Potara earring on him.

It's been a few months since Amity threw away this object; I've had plenty of time to improve it and create another pair.

Currently, I can use it as a gateway to exchange information with the other earring holder. But if one of them has more magical energy than the other, then they can forcibly obtain information without the other holder's permission.

To put it simply, I had created an object to transfer information, but I could also use it to steal.

"What are you doing? If you want money, I can give you some," Leylin declares, trying to negotiate.

He seemed clearly panicked; I can understand.

From his point of view, he had finished practicing his knight technique, and then he finds himself in front of me.

I ended up putting my Potara on his ear by force and ignored his protests.

[Alert alert alert]

[Forced data transfer detected...]

[Launching an immediate expulsion attempt...]

"If you expel me, I won't just take the knowledge of your world, Fang Ming," I say, frowning.

"Cancel the expulsion attempt..." he says through gritted teeth.

[Stopping the intruder expulsion attempt from the database]

"Thank you for your cooperation, my dear friend," I say, smiling at Leylin Farlier, who is still suspended in the air.

I could see Leylin's AI chip screen thanks to the Potara; I was connected to his mind after all.

"Who the hell are you and what's your connection to me?" he says, observing me. I could read the fear in him, but he still tries to keep his calm and an impassive facial expression.

If I didn't have the Potara, I would have thought he still had a card to play against me.

"You should consider me as a magus from a 'superior narrative'," I say nonchalantly.

"A superior narrative??" he says, confused.

"We'll meet again, Leylin, precisely when you're a true magus, but for now, you have nothing to exchange with me," I say, a half-truth before closing the novel.

As I suspected, Leylin's scientific knowledge and knight techniques didn't disappear with him after closing the novel.

I was wondering how and why the stories could affect Luz and Amity in the show.

Now I have a theory, and if it's true, then Leylin will remember me even if I take another novel about him next time.

So, if the story of his novel doesn't change, then I have a level 9 magus who might possibly want revenge.

"I wonder who I'm going to summon from this novel now," I mutter, smiling.

I started turning the pages to find the chapter where Nyssa appears in a bad state; I remember she'll be the future director of "The Abyss Bone Forest Academy."

"She must be super weak right now, but she should have a basic Magus meditation method," I murmur, remembering that she was a struggling acolyte.
