Chapter 43 - Federation Of Supernaturals

A young boy, floating through the void, wanders blankly, nothing interrupting his journey. Feeling content for first time in his life, he lies listlessly, wishing to never return to reality. Just as he was about to surrender to tbe serenity completely, a sudden jolt fractured the scene into many fragments, causimg him to return to reality.

Jake opened his eyes at once, but the blinding light forced him to blink repeatedly, not registering his surroundings at all. When he could finally see clearly, a sudden damp feeling made him look down.

It was bright, green blood, illuminating his surrounding clothes.

Reeling in shock, he heard the cry of roar. When he looked up, he saw Jerry, stumbling into the corner, hugging his singular eye with one of his arms, while the other three are trying their best to curb the flood of blood coming from his ears, nose and mouth. Jake leapt up from the bed, going to Jerry to help him, yet denied, stating that he was fine, nothing serious happened. Believing with skepticism, Jake just rolled an eye up, and returned back to the bed.

After what seemd like hours, but could have been minutes, Jerry, after cleaning himself up, returned back to Jake. "Anyway, ignoring this... fiasco, I got what we came here for. No need to worry, what happened here will only be known by me and my superiors, who have sworn to never reveal any confidential... documents, so to speak." Jerry spoke, hands clasped behind his back, and in front, giving an aura that stated everything is fine.

Still skeptic, Jake begrudgingly believed in him, yet this did not stop him from keeping up his guard up. Seeing that this was going nowhere, Jerry coughed, before giving a final warning.

"I see that you have managed to break through the doors, and stepped onto the path of supernatural. Congratulations for that, but setting bothers me." At this, Jerry scratched his chin, eye in doubt. Jake started to panic inside, but showed confidence to him "Of course, I just recently broke through, you know? I'm still adjusting my powers, so that's why my powers seem abnormal, you know?" Still skeptical, Jerry mused "You know, you have said 'you know' once too many, and this usually tells that you are hiding something." Damn, he knows too much, what do I do? Sweat started to quietly flow through Jake's scalp, wetting his hair.

Just as it seemed that he would have to spill everything, a sudden ring broke the awkward silence around them. Jerry, realising that it was his phone, picked it up. Walking into a corner, Jake overheard slightly "Yeah... yeah... okay... uha... I wi- but... fine, I'll send him back." He returns back to Jake, informing him "Doesn't matter, I'll come back to you later. Ooh, that reminds me, since you have awakened, you should register to your nearest Hall, otherwise the powers that be will not like a rogue awakened one in their area, which, in your case, is at the center of the city. Better get it done as soon as possible, preferably today." Finishing with his mouth pinched, he whispered as if anyone who knows about it will arrest them, or worse, kill them.

Confused, Jake just followed along his words, "Uhh, Jerry, can I call you Jerry? Yes, Jerry, umm, if you haven't realised, it's late afternoon, and by the time we reach there, it will be nighttime. How am I supposed to reach there by today?" Jerry stood up, straighter than a needle, arms folded in military fashion. "No need to thank me, for I will take you there myself. Come one now, chop chop, we haven't got much time left." Him being far stronger than Jake, he dragged and manhandled Jake to the car, despite the incessant screams of murder and cries for help.

After a quick trip (and ten bathroom breaks), they reached to their destination:

A tall, awe - inspiring building, emanating nobility and humility, two very contradicting auras. Sleek Pyrithean marble is seen decorating the sidewalks. Monuments of heroes fallen honour them, each depicting their tales of splendour. Yet despite the myriad races present, not a single one was a human.

Despite tne burning questions within him, it all dissipated once he saw the building up close. There, written in all it's glory, laid the name:

Federation of Supernaturals.
