Chapter 46 - Strados Vulot

Blinking rapidly from the sudden exposure to the bright light, Jake manages to re - acclimatise from the dark box he was put in. As he walks out, he stumbles, as his body finally realises that it was tired. Just as he was about to fall down, a large, rough hand grabbed him, and pulled him up.

"Easy there man, we can't have you falling down like that." A jovial voice rumbled from above, as its large, burly hand grabbed him hy his neck, hoisting him straight up back into his feet. As Jake's feeling of inertia faded away, he stared at the being who had picked him up.

A broad shoulder extended from his arms, waist wide, extending half a meter in width. Jake backed away quickly, for it got too close for him. After retreating a fair bit, he focused again on the being.

Taking another look, he saw that the arms and legs, though massive as well, seemed to fit perfectly with the rest of his body, giving him the perfect ratio, almost golden. His head, misshapen slightly, hinted at ferocity, yet his eyes reflected serenity and wisdom, making Jake relax slightly. His scalp, whilst having hair, had streaks of bald patches, which caused Jake to take another look at his body.

Afte taking another look, he focused again on his body, which he had skimmed over preciously: scars, numerous in numbers, crisscrossed all over his body, a stark reminder of his time as a soldier. At what division, Jake did not know, nor did he want to find out, for the sake of his mental health.

After taking a final look at the hulking physique, he took a small gulp.

Though quiet, the being still heard managed to hear it, causing a small pout to appear on his face. "Come on, do u really look that scary?" A few nods, mostly from our spectators, confirmed, though one immediately shook in fear of her salary being docked. The being crossed his eyes, recognising the reason for it "I do not need your pity nod. For that, you are fined one week of your salary!"

Amidst a dying cry, the being turned back around to Jake, introducing himself "Welcome, young Adventurer. How are you? Anyway enough of the small talk, let's introduce ourselves shall we: I am Strados Vulot, contemporary leaders of the Hall Of Martial Arts at tbe Federation on Earth, as you would call this planet. As you can see, my... employee may have had some issues, as the examination was not supposed to go for this long. We shall rectify it, and no need to worry: the re - test is free of charge, courtesy of Miss Ranbon here." She had a name? Jake felt astounded. "I don't know why, but recently, for the last couple of. months, she seemed to be experiencing memory failure, which I really need to look into, as my employees are all part of my family." Raising his right hand over his heart, he pugged up in pride. Realising that Jake seemed to be lookjng at him with a questioning gaze, he continued on "Anyways, shall we - " before being interrupted "No thank you, I prefer to keep this score. Let's not do this again. " Shaking his head rapidly, Jake did not want to experience it again.

While this was happening, Strados looked at Jake's results for the third test, and after seeing the result, his eyes went wide in shock. Feeling curious, he asked something that he had not done for a long time: " Youngan, shall we have a quick... spar?"
