Then, I heard the lock clanking at the front door.
Sheng Shushu walked over, about to speak, when her mouth opened but no sound came out, her eyes wide with surprise as she stared at Xiao Yu.
"…"
"You went to buy rice noodles?" Sheng Shushu paused, "Or is it from a noodle shop?"
Xiao Yu was holding a portion of rice noodles in one hand, soup separate, and another bag in the other hand, filled with countless little boxes.
Sheng Shushu had seen those small boxes when ordering takeout—specifically for condiments.
"I didn't know which one you'd prefer, so I got one of each," Xiao Yu said without much fanfare.
He added, "I made sure to pay for them."
Sheng Shushu's lips thinned, words failing her as she went over to take the items, "Then what will you eat?"
Xiao Yu looked at her.
Contemplated for a moment.
"Your leftovers?"
Sheng Shushu: "..."
She turned and walked into the dining room, "I never leave any soup behind!"
