After I returned to the place where others stood, I grinned after seeing a hint of surprise on the faces of my examiners were great for my morals right now.
"You did great! Was there reason you didn't attack other giant rat from distance?"
Hina said with smile on her face, after which she asked question that I was prepared to answer.
"I was not sure I would be able to hit the mark when it was freaking out so I decided to end it in close combat to insure it died."
I replied truthfully, if it was humanoid I could think of a way that it may react after seeing his comrade die but I wasn't sure how a giant rat would react.
"I see! That makes sense."
Hina nodded understandingly.
"Let's go I sense 3 more north to here."
Cameron said with a serious expression on his face.
"Geez Cameron you should chill out, there is no need to hurry in this exam."
Hina said tapping Cameron's shoulder.
"Yeah, it just E-rank promotion exam, and there aren't any strong monsters in this woods you know!"
Adrian said with gentle smile on his face.
"I guess?".
Cameron said unsurely .
"Your too tense due to what happened at our last job you should chill out."
Hina said comforting Cameron with pat on his shoulder.
"Then let's go! Those rats might relocate, it is already pain to spot them because how weak they are."
After saying that Cameron led our group to the north with decent speed, at first I was overwhelmed by there speed but I was getting used to it and keeping up with them.
"In the next clearing to the left there are 3 giant rats munching on some flesh if you kill them then, you will pass this exam."
Cameron said seriously, I also nodded at this and crept closer to them while using {sound barrier} I wasn't detected this time I decided that defeating these three rats could be good excercise I stealthily created {pitfall} in ring fashion along them leaving the square were they were they didn't detect my operation so I decided to take next step of my plan and created one {flame lance} and launched it towards biggest rat, because this spells piercing power it is one of my favourite spells to use in combat.
As it pierced one giant rat killing it instantly this surprised other rats as they started running around resulting in falling in pitfall that I have created, the rats that have fallen to the pitfall struggled lot but I approached them and stabbed them with my short sword through there eyes killing them instantly, and with that I have completed my promotion exam with smile I returned to were the people from battle brigade have stayed seeing me return with smile they also returned the smile .
"You did great with that trap, you have completed the promotion test "
Hina said with a smile on her face.
"As we have already collected the proof of extermination, we should return to the guild."
Adrian said with a smile on her, as we all nodded and we started returning after we entered the town without any other incident after returning to the guild we once again approached Fiona's desk though some people were in front of her desk we decided going through her would be most convenient.
After waiting for some time it was finally our turn so we strolled forward.
"Hello Fiona."
We greeted het with enthusiasm, she looked a little surprised to see us back so early but she nodded.
"Oh you guys are back! Did Evelyn succeed?"
She asked with enthusiasm, all members of the battle brigade nodded .
"Yeah she was impressive, with little practice she could improve her aim on moving targets and she will be ready for D-rank promotion."
This surprised me , as well as Fiona but she just smiled at that.
"I see that's great, I always felt that she was better than all other newbies, but it seems my guess was the truth after all."
Fiona said with proud smile while puffing her chest, I couldn't help as small smile crept on my face.
"So promote her and update her guild card we have already witnessed her strength and skills which are far more then what you would expect from E-rankers."
Cameron said with serious tone, all other nodded
"Of course I will be done in jiffy so wait here for some time, after that I will hand you your guild card back."
I nodded at her words and we left the place and decided to wait in guild tavern for a while.
"Now that test is over we will take our leave, but I am looking forward to working with you in future."
Hina said as she hugged me I also returned it with smile , though our interaction was brief I could say everyone in there party was good person.
"Yeah me too, thank you for guidance."
I said with bow, though they were around my age mentally but when it comes to adventuring they are way more experienced then me so I had no issue to thank them with bottom of my heart
"Don't worry about it! See you later "
Adrian said as they bid me farewell and left I couldn't help but frown a little when I blushed when he smiled while patting me, girls body is really affecting me too much I need to calm down.
After sighing and calming down I waited for updation of my card while that was happening I ordered light alcohol drinks and to my relief I wasn't light weight because of my body type after waiting for about two hours Fiona finally approached me with her smile.
"Here your card! Congratulations now your E-rank adventurer."
She said enthusiasticly handing me my guild card I took the guild card and noticed the changes from capital F it had changed to capital E other things were quite the same
"Thank you Fiona!"
I said with smile, I was grateful for her as without her help I had to wait for promotion lot longer.
"Don't mention it!"
She replied happily.
"Now, I am busy so I should return now, but you should celebrate."
Saying that she left , I decided to take her advice and celebrate my promotion.
