I woke up grogilly in the middle of the night, it seems I was more tired then I thought it seems I had passed out due to how tired I was from all fighting and not sleeping the previous night and keeping watch all night must've taken the toll on me.
I turned around to check on the girl and my eyes widened in horror my knife was in the hands of that girl and her wrist was cut and she likely have attempted suicide I hurriedly moved towards her trying to check if she was still alive I checked her pulse and to my horror there wasn't any pulse, I removed the froke she was wearing and tried hearing if she had heart beat but to my horror there weren't any heart beat.
I watched a large amount of blood fill the pitfall I felt an immense amount of shame that I kept sleeping while the girl had killed herself The shame was followed by helpless feeling, The blood had already dried which means it's been quite some time since she did cut her wrist.
I knew I could try to heal her but I wasn't good enough with magic to do something like that at, I began sobbing as helpless filling took over me last three days I been helpless tone and time again, after crying at my failure for about an hour I stood up and left the pit fall with the girls body I have asked for her name before and she had told me her name was Lina after burrying her body and giving her proper buriel I sat there in daze feeling weight of what had occurred on my shoulder I decided it was enough and left the place, I may seem insensitive but if I stayed there there is possibility I would be attacked by stronger monsters and because of situation we were in I couldnt even ask her for help in getting me to any town.
I washed and dried my only clothes and thre the shirt I stole from bandits in my bag and after wearing the froke I had given to Lina but I will need something to wear if I want to enter the city so I took the dress back but I did leave a shirt with her I briefly returned to bandits camp from before and did the same to bodies of women there I have them burial and though I didn't know there name I couldn't really name there grave but it is what it is.
So after doing everything I knew about proper send of of dead I decided to move out, as I was close to that especially tall tree whose size rivaled the boulder cliff.
After climbing it with some difficulty I looked around and to my north I was able to see clearing and many things that looked like man- made structures so I decided to reach that place today, after coming down from the big tree I dashed towards the clearing after using < Physical enhancement > magic in full throttle after 20 minutes of run I was almost out of the forest and I could see gates of town relief washed over me as I spotted my first human settlement in this world I could finally feel safe after more then 3 stimulating days, I decided it was time I enter the town, I approached the gates of the town , two guards were standing in front one was them was alertly looking around while other wasnt as tense as other guard.
As I approached the gates they also noticed me as I was only traveler present in front of the gate .
"Hello! I would like to enter the town."
I said trying to greet them with fake excitement I was still down from what happened but I didn't know the girl for a whole lot of time but I saved her and helped her with her revenge I was at least hoping I could help her all the way but she took such drastic step and I couldn't help her in the end.
"Show us your identification card and you're free to enter."
The first guard said in a serious tone but he had a small blush on his face now that I looked at him he was quite young and seemed to tense.
"I am sorry but I had a bout with bandits previously so I lost my identification card in that bout please allow me to enter somehow."
I said with a bit of helpless feeling I knew I would have a hard time entering the town without any sort of identification bandits didn't have something like that, I hoped they would allow me to enter the town with my appearance as a little girl.
"I see thats unfortunate, but you will have to pay 2 silver coins so we can issue temporary entrance pass, but you will have to reissue it as soon as possible."
Second guard said lightly with understanding expression on his face but I understood that it was quite common around her I took two silver coins from my bag and handed them to guards.
"Please report your encounter to the Adventurers guild, Bandits had been nuicense lately."
The older guard said as he handed me a card I simply took it and nodded as I entered the town my first destination is without doubt Adventurer's guild , as according to what I heard it is only way I can make a living in this world right now.
As I asked around for the the location of the Adventurers guild after looking around for while I finally spotted the two story building with wooden board in middle with 'Adventurer's guild ' written on it surprisingly it was written in English so I decided to enter it for now I wanted to register right now do I make my living here I had no idea how monetary system worked in this world and wheather the money I have is enough to live until I can find something to do so I can survive here.
So with a lot of nervousness in my mind I decided to approach the guild receptionist so I can ask her about the registration matter and how to register.
