Felix rode the wooden elevator back down to the first floor and quickly made his way to the other wooden elevator behind the white stone desk.
This elevator was different, it have four levers and was slightly larger than the other wooden elevators. He pulled the fourth lever and the elevator started ascending. Passing the second and third floors, it finally stopped at the fourth floor.
Stepping out, Felix observed that the fourth floor was slightly smaller and simpler in decoration compared to the others. Walking down the corridor, he soon reached a door.
Upon entering, he saw Trinity, Gwendolyn, Brixton, Zephyr, Nixie, and the children chatting on elegant couches. The children were exploring the room with curiosity.
The room was spacious, with a large desk, luxurious chair, and glossy marble floors. Potted plants adorned the corners, adding to the elegance of the space.
Felix eyes flickered as smiled, " So the fourth floor serves as an office space huh ".
The whole floor serves as an office space for the management of the restaurant, to be honest the system really thought everything through, that's why the other four wooden elevators don't have access to the fourth floor only the fifth one behind the stone white desk have access to the fourth, it's like an exclusive elevator for the CEO.
"Hey, big bro you are here! Where isChef Gideon?" Nixie asked, standing up and looking behind Felix.
"He's taking a look around the kitchen. You know this guy hasn't stepped inside a kitchen for the past two decades," Felix glanced at Nixie and said.
"That's true," Nixie nodded. Felix shook his head and sat down beside Trinity on the couch.
"I think Chef Gideon's life is really pitiful," Nixie said with a sad face.
"Sigh, a once talented Chef has been reduced to such a state," Brixton sighed. "Luckily, he met big bro, if it wasn't for big bro I think he would still be in a mess."
"Yeah, big bro is really good, he lied to Chef Gideon which in turn convinced him to work for him," Nixie giggled.
"Darn you girl, how can you say that, I didn't lie to him, I convinced him with unmatched goodness and virtue," Felix angrily glared at Nixie.
Nixie was stunned speechless.
"Big bro, I now know one of your unmatched qualities," Nixie said.
"What is it? Is it my handsomeness, my intelligence?" Felix grinned.
"No, your shamelessness, I now know your skin is quite thick, you have no shame at all," Nixie smirked. Felix's smile gradually faded.
"Darn you, little girl, just you wait," Felix glared at her.
"Ok, can you two stop?" Trinity rubbed her temples and said helplessly. Felix continued to glare at Nixie while Nixie stuck out her cute pink tongue.
"Big bro, I think we may be in trouble," Gwendolyn, who was sitting beside Zephyr, suddenly said with a serious face.
"What do you mean?" Felix took his gaze from Nixie and looked at her. The others also looked at her with puzzlement.
"Hey, big sister Gwendolyn, why do you think we're in trouble?" Nixie asked.
Gwendolyn looked at everyone and explained, "Just think about it. The restaurant we built is one of the most beautiful, if not the most luxurious, in Brigdemoor city. I'm sure by now some people have noticed it and started investigating. I believe we are already under investigation since the moment we arrived here and opened the restaurant."
Felix's expression changed slightly when he heard Gwendolyn's words.
"Yeah, Gwendolyn is right. We might have some trouble in the future. Just like Gwendolyn said, we might already be under investigation. No, I think the moment this restaurant was being built, the investigation might have already begun," Zephyr added with a serious face.
"I think you guys are right. I almost overlooked this. From now on, we have to be careful in exposing ourselves until we have the strength to protect ourselves," Felix said with a grave expression. All of them also had serious and grave expressions.
"Luckily, you were able to discern all of this and made us move from the slums. Otherwise..." Trinity said, a trace of fear in her eyes.
"Yeah, big bro. If we were still in the slums, then I don't know what would have happened to us," Brixton's face was quite pale. Zephyr, Gwendolyn, and Brixton's countenances were quite unsightly too.
If they hadn't moved out of the slums and were still living there, their lives would be completely over. This is a world where the strong eat the weak. If they were investigated and found out to be a bunch of orphans with no powerful backing or strength, then they would have died without knowing how they died, and the restaurant would have fallen into someone else's hands. Felix felt a cold chill run down his spine when he thought of this. Luckily, they were able to quickly move out of the slums before all of this happened.
"Darn, I need to be really careful. I don't want to die again after coming to this new world," Felix thought.
"Hey system, you will protect me if I encounter danger, right?" Felix transmitted his voice to the system with expectation in his eyes.
"Host, please don't have any expectations from the system. The system is just here to help the Host build his business empire, so you have to solve your own problems " the system said.
"If I die, I can't build a business empire, right? So you have to protect me. Otherwise, if I die at the hands of some greedy person, you'll die too," Felix transmitted his voice.
"You're wrong, Host. If you die, the system will look for a new Host," the system replied with a hint of ridicule in its voice.
" Fuck! What a useless system " Felix's eyes widened slightly, leaving him speechless.
After a few moments, he took a deep breath and said, "Looks like I can't place my hope on the system."
As Felix narrowed his eyes in thought, he realized, "I have to find a way to become stronger."
"Big brother, how are we supposed to protect ourselves? I know that for now, we've avoided suspicion and investigation, but our current identity won't keep us safe for long. Without much strength, we can't protect ourselves. We're just temporarily safe," Zephyr said.
Trinity and the others nodded in agreement, understanding that their current identity and background wouldn't protect them for long.
"I think we need to find ways to become stronger," Trinity said solemnly, with the others nodding in agreement.
"I think I have an idea that could keep us safe and protect us for a while," Felix said.
Trinity and the others looked at Felix, waiting for him to continue.
"We can use Chef Gideon," Felix said with a glint in his eyes.
The others looked at each other, puzzled by Felix's suggestion. "How?" Brixton asked.
"Think about it. Chef Gideon is a Spirit Chef, and you all know the special status they have. They enjoy privileges, and nobody dares to offend a Spirit Chef. Instead, they try to curry favor with them. If we spread the news that our restaurant has a 1 Star Spirit Chef, what do you think will happen?" Felix said with a smirk.
Trinity and the others were lost in thought when they heard Felix speak.
Their eyes lit up as they continued to ponder his words.
"If news spreads that our restaurant has a 1 Star Spirit Chef, we can avoid suspicion and investigation. Plus, our restaurant will attract more customers and become famous in Brigdemoor city," Trinity said, a realization dawning on her.
Felix looked at her and smiled. "Exactly. With the special status of a Spirit Chef, we can keep ourselves safe. People will think the restaurant belongs to Chef Gideon, and we are just managing it for him. It's like killing two birds with one stone. With Chef Gideon, we can stay safe and make our restaurant famous in Brigdemoor city."
The others smiled at the idea and breathed a sigh of relief.
"But guys, this won't keep us safe forever. Our background might be exposed one day, so we need to find ways to strengthen ourselves," Gwendolyn said.
Felix and the others nodded in agreement.
"But for now, we're safe. Let's take it one step at a time," Felix said, waving his hand.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Felix glanced at the door and said, "Come in."
The door opened and Chef Gideon entered the room.
"Oh, Chef Gideon, you're here. How was it? Did you like the kitchen?" Felix stood up and greeted Chef Gideon with a smile.
"Yeah, I liked it. Your kitchen is one of the largest and most complete I've seen," Chef Gideon replied.
"Thank you for the compliment," Felix said, smiling.
"Come and sit down. We were just discussing our next plan for the restaurant," Felix said, leading Chef Gideon to one of the couches.
Felix sat back down, a smirk on his face.
