After the bride and groom-to-be are done with their first dance, other couples are invited to use the dance floor.
I'm sipping my second glass of wine when I notice movements from the corner of my eyes. Disregarding my intuition, I turn around and lo and behold, it's Zara… and she's trying to pull a very reluctant Hector to the dance floor.
My chest burns with anger and I clutch the wineglass so tightly, my knuckles turn white.
I'm not angry because I'm jealous. I'm furious because Hector has the nerve to try and force me to come back to him while he's still married to Zara. What the hell is his problem?
Suddenly, he looks up and our eyes clash and hold. For the next three seconds, all the noise in the hall fades to the background. Hector's eyes darken dangerously as they rove over every inch of my skin.
