"Hmm, I must move alone. I'm sure I won't find a good opportunity to test my abilities with them around," Jin thought to himself.
He still harbored some fears from the incident on the first day of the opening ceremony. There was a good chance someone might suspect him if he revealed his abilities in front of them.
But that wasn't the only reason. He also wanted to test the limits of his power and his new awakening on some of the chaos creatures.
With Yumi, Alucard, and the other students present, he wouldn't find any chance to explore his latent powers, as they certainly wouldn't leave a mere weakling in their eyes the opportunity to fight the creatures.
Not to mention his sharp thirst for revenge. Ever since he fulfilled the conditions of his awakening, he felt a strange sensation within him. His thirst for blood and revenge grew significantly, to the point where he began to feel severe pain in his body whenever he thought of the chaos creatures.
Jin knew well, or rather he was sure, that these feelings were not his own but from that strange entity that had taken over his body and began controlling him.
"I have to stay out of their sight, but how?" Jin looked at the students in front of him.
"Alright, students, we will take this path down. Make sure to follow me together," Teacher Sarah called the students out .
Jin was waiting for the right moment to slip away from the sight of the other Students and Teacher Sarah, and soon he found the perfect opportunity.
That mountain slope made it easy for him to stay at the back of the group and let them descend without even noticing his departure, as no one was really interested in his presence anyway.
As they descended the slope, Jin was already heading in the opposite direction.
"So, where should I start?" Jin placed both hands on his hips as he looked left and right, thinking about where he should go in this vast place.
"I'm sure the other team will go west. Hmm, should I head north?"
The northern landscape was extremely unwelcoming and did not bode well at all. The whole area before him appeared dark and vast, filled with curves and hills.
The ground itself was filled with cracks and sharp, broken rocks, extending far and making movement difficult in the first place.
The wind here was dry and cold, carrying fine dust that stung the face and eyes, making vision difficult and movement slow.
Not to mention the ominous presence of dangerous creatures in that direction, as one of Jin's abilities was sensing the presence of chaos creatures.
Jin going alone in that direction would be highly risky, as heading north would make it extremely difficult to track him in case of a catastrophic event that might endanger his life.
But he didn't care much; all he wanted at that moment was to kill those creatures in the most brutal ways.
Jin moved anyway towards the north and began navigating between the hills. "Fuck, this land is harsh."
After a few minutes of progress, Jin found the first chaos creature in front of him. This was the first living chaos creature Jin had seen since the forest incident with his grandfather.
"Huh, just a goblin," though it was just a weak goblin, Jin's body trembled with fear.
Jin clenched his fists. "Come on, this is not the time for fear." He watched the goblin digging in the ground as if searching for something.
"I just have to use the Blood Blade and slit its back. It's simple."
"Stop trembling, you damned body," Jin sweated and trembled as he looked at the simple goblin before him.
"Summon Blood Blade!"
Jin summoned his blood sword, but at that moment, the goblin turned its terrifying gaze on Jin.
And not just that... the rest of the goblins sensed Jin's presence.
Jin had forgotten a crucial detail: when using his blood ability, all nearby chaos creatures would smell him.
Sweat poured, and Jin's body froze as he looked into the monstrous, blood-red eyes of the goblins staring at him with a killing intent.
The goblin charged with a scream, "Grrraaaah!" The goblin rushed towards him swiftly.
"No, no, you clumsy body!" Jin struck his knee with his hand hard to move.
The goblin leaped at Jin, and Jin screamed, "Nooo!" Then, in an involuntary move, Jin thrust the sword forward, piercing the goblin's chest.
"Ding! Congratulations, you killed a 'goblin', your stats have increased."
Jin heard the sound and fell to his knees, looking at the goblin's corpse in front of him.
Blood began to be drawn from the goblin's body, heading towards Jin's blood sword and disappearing into it.
"Haaaah... " Jin was shocked by what happened.
"Did I kill it this easily, for heaven's sake!"
Jin stood up, only to hear the screams of many goblins heading his way. "Shit, that's bad I forgot about my powers. I can't escape from them goddamit!"
"Breathe, breathe, focus, focus. They are weak." Jin raised his sword, trying to focus on the goblins rushing towards him.
One goblin leaped at Jin's right side, and Jin swung his sword horizontally, cutting the goblin easily like paper.
"Ding! Congratulations, you killed a 'goblin', your stats have increased."
"This sword is really sharp!" Jin kept swinging his sword and moving towards the goblins.
"Grrraaah...grrrraaah...grrrraaah!" Jin killed one goblin after another.
"Heh heh heh, they are weak," a smile split Jin's face as he easily swung his sword.
"Ding! Congratulations, you killed a 'goblin', your stats have increased."
"Hahaha, take this!"
"Ding! Congratulations, you killed a 'goblin', your stats have increased."
"Hahahahaha, you miserable ones."
Jin screamed in anger as he slaughtered goblin after goblin. After a few minutes, the goblins stopped rushing at him; he had already killed all those in the area.
"Oh, my muscles are starting to ache," Jin was breathing heavily and looked at the goblin corpses before him.
"Damn, this sword is really dangerous. For heaven's sake, how did I get such power?" Jin raised his blood sword, looking at it.
"And where does all the goblins' blood go? This sword absorbs the blood and it disappears inside it. This is strange."
"Where does it disappear inside this small sword? What is this strange ability?" Jin kept wondering as he admired his sword's strange powers...
