After getting back to the village Genma and her went straight to the Hokage building
And for some reason, he asked her to stay outside the office while he talked with Hiruzen on 'secret matters' as he liked to call it

Genma got out of the office with a solemn expression.

"Yumiko, the Hokage wishes to talk to you," he said calmly, but his eyes slightly softened after seeing her nervousness
Yumiko didn't answer and instead headed straight to the office with a somewhat stoic face
However, inside she was freaking out while imagining the worst-case scenarios
Genma followed after her before closing the door behind him.
Yumiko bowed in respect greeting Hiruzen "It's good to see you all healthy Hokage-sama"
Yumiko didn't know what hit her to greet him that way.
The Hokage only chuckled at her before replaying "No need to be so formal Yumiko-chan, stand up"
Yumiko stood from her bowing position, face red like a tomato
That only made the Hokage chuckle more alongside Genma.
Seeing the friendly atmosphere, Yumiko's shoulders were no longer stiff
'well it doesn't seem like they are about to execute me... let's hope nothing bad happens'
"The reason I called you here Yumiko is so we can discuss an important matter about you"

Yumiko frowned while she thought
'so they knew? I didn't expect this turn of events...
Well I shouldn't have underestimate them, but not like I can hide what is obvious... and pretending isn't an option either'
The Hokage keeps speaking while looking at Yumiko's thoughtful face

Yumiko's face turned pale as soon as these words were said, she was alarmed

Genma looked at her concerned while he thought

Truthfully, the Hokage let it go simply because he could take DNA samples from Yumiko anytime he wanted, by sending one of his ANBU. So it wasn't that big of a deal for him

Sure Danzo roots was disbanded after the Uchiha downfall but still, Hiruzen wasn't a fool.

On the other hand, Yumiko only sighed in relief 'thank god I am saved'
Genma cutted the silence with his declaration "Kotetsu and Izumo got back a while ago and they informed me of the mission's success, good job on delivering the scroll Yumiko-chan," he said happily
"you are dismissed Yumiko, go take a rest for now" added the Hokage with a smile.
Yumiko only nodded, bowing again before getting out of the office.
It was late evening and Yumiko was hungry, she was feeling lazy to cook so instead she went straight to one of the restaurants nearby
only to stop before the door with a deep frown
'wait, I don't have money, that woman took all my belonging! shit'
Yumiko's stomach grumbled, indicating her how much she feels hungry
'tsk, it seems like I need to go home...'
