Few creatures know that the mucus in a basilisk's secondary stomach can restore a petrified creature to its original form.

And my Dragon Legacy just happened to have this information.

"Follow, Lord!" Winnie didn't care about the disgusting smells.

Immediately, she began to clean up the petrified lizard's stomach and removed its two eyeballs, which, by the way, emitted a faint light.

She loves this!

"What are you doing here? It's very dangerous not to go outside the city!" The drow elf, Maya, looked helplessly at the rabbit girl beside her.

After getting along these few days, her impression of the rabbit girl beside her was that she was both stupid and stubborn.

"I want to wait for my friends here. They will come for me!" Shea looked at Maya firmly.

She was not smart, but she was not stupid either.

Along the way, she tore off her own black membrane thread little by little and put it on the road.

She firmly believed that Lord Barbatos and Winnie would definitely look for her.

And according to her usual communication with Winnie, Lord seems to like black membrane silk very much...

And he deliberately renamed the black membrane silk as "black silk."

"The city of Menzoberranzan is the closest drow city to here. If you don't go in, you could be killed at any time..." Maya's face suddenly changed when she was about to say something.

She saw a strong male drow appear.

Unlike female drow, male drow are ugly, which is the opposite of what nearly all Elves stand for—grace and beauty.

He had gray-black skin, with a few hideous scars on his bald head, and wore armor made of animal skins.

He held a black halberd with a metallic black spider on top, staring fiercely at Shea and Maya in front of him, his eyes filled with anger. "Maya, you should know why I'm here. Come back with me; I will plead for you for the sake of our training together!"

"Nun, I didn't expect you to catch up so quickly!" Maya looked at the male drow in front of her with an expression uglier than even his face.

"I believe the mistress will forgive you, as long as you go back with me!" Nun stared coldly at Maya in front of him.

Maya took out two daggers from her back.

"Nun, you should know that you are not my opponent!" Maya said without any fear.

"Of course I know, so why do you think I'm the only one here?" Nunn waved his hand, and a dozen drow appeared behind him.

Maya's heart tightened. This is going to be troublesome.

The deeper underground I went, the larger the space seemed to be, so I did not use the transformation to change into a dragonman form.

Instead, I walked directly in the underground world with my body, which made me feel more secure!

I felt that this underground world was truly amazing.

It is comparable to the so-called hollow earth theory from my previous life. The more I walked, the more amazing it felt.

Now, the ground is almost 2,000 meters away from the top, and I hadn't realized that this place was indeed the underground world—not long ago, that is, the dark abyss often referred to by surface creatures.

"Master Saron, where should we go?" Winnie said weakly.

"I don't know either. Let's find a tongue first!" I looked around.

Then I flew up with Winnie, trying to find some intelligent creatures to figure out what was going on in the environment of this Underdark world.

"Tongue?"

Winnie didn't understand what a tongue was, but she probably knew that I meant to ask another creature.

'Tongue must be a special name for the Dragon Clan!'

After flying for a while, I suddenly had a bad feeling.

It was as if I were being watched.

"Master, I have a weird feeling!" Winnie said.

"You also have a feeling of being watched?" I asked.

"Yes, Lord!" Winnie replied hastily.

I directly maximized my vibration perception, trying to perceive the source of the abnormality.

"Hey, look what Willie Jay found! A big fool, a little fool, la la la la!"

Just when I was looking for the source, a strange voice sounded in my mind.

Seeing Winnie's bewildered expression, it was obvious she hadn't heard the voice.

I am very familiar with this method.

'Telepathy!'

"Hahaha, what is the idiot looking for? Are you looking for Willie Jay?" The mocking voice sounded again.

"Think I can't find you?"

Scarlet light flashed in my eyes. This guy has no heartbeat at all and hasn't moved at all. Do you really think there's nothing I can do?

"ROAR!" {Wild Scream}

I opened my mouth wide and let out a deafening dragon roar.

With the addition of the wild scream, the sound waves from my throat almost became a tangible force.

Under the impact of this indiscriminate sound wave, there was a certain vibration from a stone wall at the top.

This source of vibration was instantly captured by me.

"Found you, bug!"

A blue lightning shot out from my mouth.

The speed of the lightning breath was extremely fast, hitting the stone wall in an instant.

"Hisss~"

A hiss of fear came out. Then a strange figure appeared in place.

This creature looked very strange, only a huge green head, with a terrifying white vertical eye and a bloody mouth on it.

Essentially, it was a floating head with a single, cyclops-like eye surrounded by four eye stalks. Another main feature of a beholder's anatomy was its massive, gaping maw. Because of these features, beholders were occasionally known as "spheres of many eyes" or "eye tyrants."

"It hurts, it hurts!" The spiritual voice kept resounding in my and Winnie's minds.

A long tongue stuck out of its mouth, coated in disgusting mucus.

"Master, what kind of monster is this?"

Winnie had never seen such a disgusting, evil creature.

"Beholder!"

I looked at it and said,

"To be precise, it should be an Observer Beholder!"

Beholders are a very large and complex race with many categories. The Observer Beholder is just one of the special existences.

This creature does not belong to the main material plane but is summoned from other planes by some kind of ritual.

Spectator Beholders are more loyal than other beholders. Another relative of the beholder, the spectator is a guardian of places and treasures, capable of limited planar travel. Once given a task, it will watch for up to 101 years, preventing any creature other than its summoner from entering the area.

However, due to the long-term solitary life of this kind of beholder, there seems to be some kind of problem with their spirit.

For example, they will have imaginary enemies or refer to themselves in the third person.

A spectator is a lesser type of beholder summoned to guard a location or treasure for a set time. Once summoned, it cannot leave the area it's bound to guard. If a spectator remains on guard for too long without being relieved or receiving new instructions, it can eventually go mad. This madness typically manifests as paranoia, hallucinations, and an obsession with imagined threats. They may lose their sense of purpose and become unpredictable or hostile after long periods of isolation.

"Willie Jay is so frightening, the big fool is so frightening!"

The watcher beholder was still chattering away.

But this time, it didn't use telepathy but spoke directly.

It was also in the lingua franca of the mainland.

I frowned and looked at it.

"What is this place?" I asked in the lingua franca of the mainland.

"What is this place?"

The observer beholder imitated my voice and repeated.

"I hope you cherish your life!" I issued a final warning.

"I hope you cherish your life!" the observer beholder continued to imitate my voice indifferently.

Puff~

Winnie, standing to the side, was still a bit chilly.

But looking at the funny scene in front of her, she laughed out loud.

I glanced at her, and Winnie immediately covered her mouth.

"The observer beholder has lived alone for a long time, so it has developed a slight madness."

But the guy in front of me didn't look like it had only a mild madness.

It seemed that it had lived alone for too long, and the madness had become more severe!

Otherwise, it wouldn't be unaware of the gap between itself and an adult dragon, daring to be so provocative.

It's also possible that it doesn't know the horror of a dragon at all.

"Lord, are there any other observer beholders nearby?"

"No, the race of beholders is very conceited. Every beholder thinks it is the only one of its kind, and that other beholders are garbage among garbage!"

Beholders believe they are superior to all other entities. Unintelligent foes are regarded as food or pets. An intelligent creature is seen as food or a potential minion. A beholder's true rivals are other beholders, for only another beholder has the intellect, power, and magic to threaten one of its kind.

"And if two observer beholders meet, they will definitely fight to the death!"

My inherited memory of this creature was very clear; after all, they are "conceited, even more so than true dragons," I mused, eyeing the twisted creature before me.

"Uh… and what is that…?" Winnie muttered, her voice barely audible. Despite all the tomes she had studied, nothing prepared her for the grotesque sight before us—this crazed beholder, hovering midair, its enormous central eye and four stalks twitching erratically.

The creature babbled in some strange, unintelligible language.

"Enough of this. You're better off dead." My voice rumbled through the chamber as I prepared to make my move.

Before I could lunge, the beholder struck first, its massive central eye firing a gray beam straight at me, its speed cutting through the air with a sharp whizz. The Fear Ray.

My eyes gleamed as the beam made contact with my scales. "Fear me? You're joking."

I tilted my head, examining myself with disdain before glancing back at the beholder. The thing's grotesque eye darted wildly, as if realizing that its fear-inducing attack had failed utterly. Its many stalks trembled.

"Foolish creature," I sneered. The creature hesitated, and for a moment, it seemed to reconsider its assault. But then, its madness returned with a vengeance.

BZZT!

This time, black tendrils of energy burst from its stalks—a paralyzing ray meant to freeze me in place. I felt the cold rush over my body for an instant, but then it vanished as quickly as it came.

"Pathetic," I growled, my wings giving a single, powerful flap as I propelled myself forward.

The beholder's grotesque eye widened in terror, its body visibly shaking. Desperately, it attempted to unleash its final assault—four rays from its stalks and one from the central eye, all glowing a vivid red as they charged up.

But it was far too slow.

WHOOSH! My wings tore through the air, a sonic blast following in their wake. I collided with the beholder in a blur of motion, my claws slicing through the air like razors. A high-pitched CRUNCH echoed as my talons pierced one of its massive eye stalks, bursting it like an overripe fruit.

The beholder shrieked—a horrifying, guttural sound that reverberated through the cavern.

The creature's grotesque tongue whipped out, attempting to coil around my arm. I smirked, grabbing the slimy appendage and giving it a sharp tug. RIP! The tongue tore free with a sickening squelch, hanging limply from my grasp before I flung it aside like garbage.

"Let's end this." My eyes sparked with a vicious gleam as I inhaled deeply, summoning a torrent of energy from within. A brilliant, crackling surge of blue lightning formed at the back of my throat, and with a deafening roar, I unleashed it.

ZZZZAAAP!

A column of electric fury shot from my maw, the sound of raw energy splitting the air. The lightning tore through the beholder's central eye, boring through it with ease. The stench of burning flesh filled the air as the creature's body convulsed one last time before all of its stalks went limp, hanging lifelessly.

The beholder's remains dropped into my waiting claws, still smoking from the deadly strike.

"Is that it?" I muttered, lifting the now lifeless creature. "Surely it wasn't this weak..."

For a moment, I pondered—was it just feeble, or had I become far stronger than I realized? I shook my head with a grin. "Perhaps I'm simply too strong for the likes of this."

"Winnie! Come and collect the body!" I called over to her.

Winnie rushed forward, her eyes wide with awe. She pulled out the magic storage device, carefully placing the beholder's corpse inside. Even if the thing had been weak, there were always unique properties to be gained from such creatures.

"We'll use this as spare ingredients," I said, watching her work. "Maybe its organs or... talents could fetch a fortune."

Winnie looked up at me, nodding.

"Let's keep going," I commanded, turning toward the ominous darkness of the tunnel ahead.

...

In the dark tunnel, Nunn led seven or eight drow warriors, looking palely at the corpses of their comrades beside them.

"This girl is really powerful. So many of our best fighters couldn't hold her!"

"Yeah, and she even has a burden. When did you think Maya would be so kind, actually helping other creatures?"

"Maya is the only drow in our group who won the title of best!" Nunn explained.

"But she can't escape this time; there are more powerful fighters waiting for her!"

"Captain Nunn, why does the mistress insist on capturing Maya?"

"I heard she is blaspheming the Lady Lolth, the Spider Queen… in service of someone named Eilistr..."

"Don't talk about what you shouldn't talk about! We just have to do our duty! And especially that name—remember, never mutter that name again if you want to keep your head where it is," Nunn said, putting away his weapon.

The others immediately shut up, refraining from discussing the matter further.

In drow society, generally speaking, men are always subordinate to women.

But Nunn's ability to lead this patrol with his skill alone was enough to demonstrate his capability.

Then the group vanished into the darkness.

...

"Maya, you can leave me. Why take me with you?"

Shea asked while helping Maya to heal her wounds.

"I could control the situation just now, and I was sure I could get you away, so I took you with me," Maya said calmly.

Shea looked at the hideous scars on Maya's body, speechless.

"Thank you," Shea sighed.

"You're welcome."

Maya casually wiped the blood from her weapon.

For her, it was routine.

But she felt that this battle seemed a little unusual.

"No... just now, Nunn didn't seem to want to capture me at all. Could it be..."

Maya straightened up immediately.

"Let's get out of here!"

"Heh, as expected of her offspring—she has a very flexible mind!"

A muscular female drow stepped out of the darkness.

She was more than two meters tall, with a huge mountain axe on her back, looking at Maya with a playful expression.
